Thanks for voting yes on prop 2. Since then our chicken business here in mexico is getting better because some farms have relocated here giving my family a job. Gracias.
Really people? Really! Educate yourself about this "charity". H$U$ now has well over $200 MILLION in assets. But I am sure it goes to taking care of animals...and a good portion of donations help too...WRONG! Only 4 cents of every dollar donated goes to hands-on care of these precious beings. How do they get away with this! Still unsure? Look at their tax returns posted on their site, I hope it opens your eyes. Educate yourself. Wayne does like to fly first class on your donations.
We won! 63% to 36%! Almost 2 to 1!! We reduced the cruelty that is endemic to factory farms. I'm glad HSUS and Mercy for Animals is exposing these crimes. It makes me sick to think that Steve Mendell, the owner of Westland/Hallmark Slaughterhouse in Chino, lives in a multi-million dollar oceanfront house in Corona del Mar while his workers abuse helpless animals. Plus putting tainted food into the system. Just sickening! Cruelty loses this time
You didn't reduce cruelty you took animals out of climate controlled environments with wonderful medical care and put them outside where wild animals can eat them, real smart.
@kakygp you are the most uneducated person I know. have you NOT seen the cages they are kept in? Their fucking nails grow around the bars, they choke to death on the cages cause they're too big. They die, then are left in said cages for weeks even months! They're treated HORRIBLY and let me tell you they DO NOT at any cost RECEIVE MEDICAL CARE. They are left to die, and rot in their cells. Im sure they'd rather chance it out in the open, then live that horrible life.
Thank you to everyone for the support of this new legislation. Although California Prop 2 creates a minimal improvement in the lives of factory farm animals, it proves that people recognize the need for compassion to animals.
It doesn't matter if something tastes better or is a cent per egg more. Its inhumane and it is wrong! We can eat up that small cost for an animal having a nice life before it is mercilessly slaughtered for our own enjoyment. Vote yes on 2 if you are a decent person!!
NO ON 8! Don't succumb to animal activists' lies & propaganda. Any of you voting yes - celebrity or not -ever even been to an egg ranch or farm, ever raised animals for food? No noticible difference between the taste of free range vs. caged chicken's eggs, but the price diff is much higher now than 1 cent per egg! Took my kids to a ranch recently, clean fresh water, healthy food, room enough in cages for them to turn around & stand (but not in own feces),shade, protected from predators. NO on 8!
The cost of eggs seems to have doubled in the last decade. In this bad economy I think we need to at least wait to vote on this when the economy recovers. Although the law takes affect in 2015 the farmers will need to raise costs now to compensate the new equipment. I vote No. If I wanted free range chicken then I would buy the organic alternative that I honestly can't reasonably fit in my budget.
Even if you're against humane treatment of animals, perhaps you can understand that it's healthier for you if this prop passes. I'm not sure about you, but I don't like my food being stacked in tiny cages, living in their own excrement.
Are you out of your mind? Do you know how many diseases ar e created when animals are treated that way.The Jews that you USA people love so much would NEVER do this to animals. What do you think KOSHER Means? How people can actualy say NO on prop 2 because it will cost money ! OUTRAGOUS! Why dont you try some ORGAINIC CHICKEN and see the MAJOR DIFFERENCE!
Thats right free range is WaY BETTER FOR YOU . There tons of diseases created when animals are treated in a cruel manner. They bleed inside due to streess and then the meat is poisened by the stress hormone that is released.
"Animals have families to ya know, and have dreams and ambitions and will have a positive impact on society. I make friends with my Thanksgiving turkey before I sadly eat him. Yes on 2!!"
God Bless you and softness your heart as well and make you understand than a penny per egg is worse it and won't kill us. I hope you, one day, understand money is no excuse for animal cruelty.
Ha, I love it. Opponents include special interest groups who don't know anything. Proponents includes Doctors who work in the field. LOL Californians are idiots.

The FACT is that the California Veterinary Medical Association -- the largest and oldest group of veterinarians in California -- SUPPORTS Prop. 2. Just because the "No on 2" side was able to find some vets to support them doesn't outweigh the CVMA. Also, 2/3 of the money to fight Prop. 2 has come from OUT OF STATE factory farms.

This is a lot of thought on animals we EAT. Since it's not going into effect until 2015, I'll vote Yes.
