There's enough baloney here to feed all the starving people of the world. Not to mention phoney, pretentious "cool" -- and those are the strong points.
Lol my bf was singing this so i put it on and he saw michael buble and just skoffed and walked off xD good job he wasnt with me when i went to his concert :P
My boyfriend also always says "Your more gay than michael buble" My reply "He's with a argentinian woman.... thats like more opposite of gay than straight" :P
this is my absolute favorite song. we played this in my high school jazz band and had a blast with it. i feel like this band lost some of the melody in it though and buble could have done a better job with it. he's just not feeling it in this performance and no one can live up to van morrison.
he aint got no feelin'. he can sing like a motherfunker, but he just aint feelin' it. no real soul. sorry fans. mad respect for his skills, but he needs to experience life and pain to feel real music ant to relay soul.
Yeah a quality voice for shure but listen to the end of his phrasing. staccato at the end of of each line. A sign of youth it's not bad, but simply an observation. This could be, even by his standards drastically improved or may be not.
It depends on the persom the life they have had etc.
Sometimes some folk just ain't hip. The band behind him swing well, he should use that to his advantage which he clearly isn't here. Rank and file have no comparison.
@sopwithcamels266 Please forgive my ignorance and you quoting 'staccato at the end of of each line.' I am not quite sure what this is and the art of conversation is lost on you tube so please could you post a video of you performing this so that us mere mortals can observe a true expert............ but I bet you don't!!!!!!!!!!
@twinkytwonk@twinkytwonk Ha ha .My comment was designed for people to explore;take a second look and listen and learn. If you spoon feed folk they don't learn correctly, and quite rightly remain ignorant. I suggest you do some research,(real research) and work it out for self. Any one with an once of intellect would understand that.
I love his voice! I think it's great that he's bringing jazz back for a generation that mostly only listens to pop and meaningless, repetitive dance rubbish... I even love his covers!
@mrgcav He sounds like the old classic singers like Sinatra and NKC and yet you say he sucks? You need a lesson in music fool. This man is a legend in our time so shut your mouth and pay attention to greatness before your eyes and ears
Like "An I'm trying to please to the callin' of your heart strings...'" What the hell does THAT mean? Great poetry dude. Like Mary had a little lamb great. Van was A one hit wonder. "And I know now the time is just right and straight into my arms you will run." Brilliant lyrics. Not.
@kfcohea Wait, are you arguing that Van's aren't what made Moondance awesome? Hey we agree on something. The backing band's part is so good, minus that sax solo, not quite sure what the player was listening to, that the lyrics don't matter quite as much. Plus, the lyrics, while below average compared to what I usually listen to, don't really suck. Also, you group lyrics together quite unlike Van did. That second is from two different "stanzas". Two hits, don't forget Brown Eyed Girl.
Fuck this unoriginal song stealing piece of wasted musical skin.....shitty version of a great song and an over rated voice and talent, does this fuckstick even have an original song he sings..............
@kjjmac, michael DOES write his own material, he also does covers from time to time and his vocal style is far more pleasing to me that "Vans". I don't understand why people argue on YouTube comments, music and art in general can never please everyone at once, because it's subjective. So to say that one is better than the other is just stating opinion, not fact. Personally I love this version and I think michael's voice fit the piece so well!
What a cheesy lounge act. Yes, he has a good voice, but millions of people have good voices. This guy has no spark, no spontaneity, no originality. Anyone with a voice can sing someone else's song. It's called karaoke. It's an entirely different thing to write one's own material and perform it. That's why Van is the best. One of a kind. There is always so much more passion when singing one's own material, not to mention an intimate knowledge of the material. Go back to the Holiday Inn lounge. U

Yuck. This is NO comparison to Van Morrison.... after you listen to the real song, this makes this version seem so...... boring and unemotional. Not hating but this style is simply not buble's style..
@golfwolf45 I think he is. He is not "authentic", but you can't get that anymore. Its a different era. His voice is good - control and range - and he plays with note and phrasing in an intelligent way. His show is retro, but so is jazz (also free jazz, right?). I don't think you are going to get much closer nowadays. He is no Elling, but Sinatra wasn't Mel Torme, either.

I don't know if it's the song, or the singer, but this was absolutely a complete wet blanket. This is probably why females are dominating the charts right now, and perhaps I'm guilty of being zombified by them, but this performance was lackluster for me.
thanks to Buble for bringing this style of music back. i just saw another singer like Buble who can rock this sound too. buble should learn some of his moves. he sings with an octet. the bass player is awesome! ya gotta ck him out if you have a minute.
