There's some other people who were featured in these "Do You Know Me?" ads: Mel Blanc, William E. Miller (Barry Goldwater's 1964 running mate), and Apollo 12 commander Pete Conrad. I'd love to see those if anyone's got them.
ok, this is random, but i was wondering if anyone remembered a commercial from the 1980s that was really creepy. I believe it was Stephen King in his home, talking about a book, and at the end of the commercial, something is on the other side of his front door, trying to get in.
Stephen King=Best author in the whole entire world, unlike some other people coughcoughSTEPHANIEMEYERcoughcough. Dont bother telling me that Stephen sucks because there is no good reason why he isnt. :D
I think one of the creepiest parts of The Stand is where Randall goes to the prison Lloyd is in all alone during a full moon, and meets him. Lloyd is absolutely terrified of him that he is unable to look him in the face. Flagg knew every little secret Lloyd was trying to hide in that cell. Its my favorite King book ever.
The Lincoln tunnel? Well, I finished The Stand 3 months ago, LOL. Yeah, that was a creepy part. I'm reading Nightmares and Dreamscapes now, an awesome collection of short stories. My favorite so far is The Night Flier - amazingly written.
Stephen King is the man. Im obsessed with The Dark Tower Series and It. However The Stand is his best novel (and the greatest novel ever in my opinion). Night Shift and Everythings Eventual were sweet too
hrmm... i havent read the Stand but It, It is one of my favorite books EVER... but as for me, i think that It is best and Hearts in Atlantis is also best... im not choosing sides on that debate both made me feel something new and thats enough for me... wow. im rambling...
OMG, I can't believe I've never seen this before, I must have read and watched "The Dark Half" a million times... LOL... Thank you so very much for posting this!!! :-D

How about you quit wasting YOUR time telling us what to do and learn some REAL job skills? Does your mother know that you're scamming and spamming people? Do you know ANYTHING?
Hi there. I know you did commercials with other celebrities like voice grand master Mel Blanc. How many others did you do and what celebrities did you use in them?
Hi. Many, many celebrities were used over the years. From William Miller, who had been a Vice-Presidential candidate, to Tom Landry. In addition, this same campaign was used around the world with local celebrities in each country. I did a fun spot in Argentina with Lalo Schifrin, who wrote the "Mission: Impossible" theme music. It was shot like a spy movie. I inherited the campaign and many great writers and art directors worked on it over the years. I can take credit for only a few.
One of those celebrities was the late Don Adams from "Get Smart" and "Check It Out" fame who did a credit card commercial. Was it AMEX or another card that we saw? It would have come out around the early 90's.
Don't know his motivation for doing the commercial. Some people do them for the recognition. Some just liked the commercials. They didn't get paid that much, so it wasn't done for the money.
Why are you guys talking about him in the past tense? He is still alive, and he is publishing another book towards the end of January called Duma Key.
Of course, he's alive and kicking. I was using the past tense because I am referring to a time - in the past - when I worked with while making this commercial.
Just a generalization of past work, nothing more. I didn't like the format of "The Green Mile," but enjoy his work in general; I'd like to see what comes next. "Christine" was my favorite book.

I've read 1 thru 5 in the DT series, The Talisman, and I'm working on Cell. Of the DT, #2 is the best, but I think the Talisman beats it.

Thanks for posting this. Actually, I wrote this commercial when I was at Ogilvy & Mather in New York. It won a few awards and was featured in
Bernice Kanner's book, "The 100 Best TV Commercials." The moving
candlelabras were inspired by Cocteau's film, "Beauty and the Beast."
Stephen King was a bit creepy in real life too. Credits: Jeff Atlas, writer.
Paul Pracilio, art director. Tom Rost, creative director.

As a huge King fan, I hope you don't mind my little interrogation. :o
But was he like, cool? From reading his first-person introductions, that's my impression.
Sangiath 4 years ago
To be honest, he kind of kept to himself and wasn't very sociable. He was a good performer and we appreciated
that, but wasn't very friendly, as I recall.
