Your experience is so close to mine. I had severe swelling in my feet and legs that still have not gone down. I called the advice nurse so many times about swelling but because my hands and face were not swollen they didn't really do anything about it. I unfortunately delivered my stillborn daughter at 35 weeks. I was in the hospital for four days with severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome and I am still on two medications for the blood pressure. I only wish I had been more aware...
@mel4g2001 oh my goodness! I don't know what to say! First off I am very sorry for your loss of your baby girl! Second, I am sorry you had to experience pre-e. It is such a traumatic thing to go through and to not have a beautiful child in your arms to show that it was all worth it, that's just devastating. Stay strong, which I know is hard, but believe that God will never put you through something you couldn't handle. May I ask where you live, and when did your Bp begin to rise?
Thanks so much for sharing your preeclampsia experience. I was diagnosed with pre-e in April of this year. My son was born in May 2 months before his due date. I am still so traumatized by everything and I'm so worried about how little women know about it!
I Had high pb for awhile where I had to be on meds and I had protein still. I think that was 3 months after it regulated. (I had two more of those fun 24 hour pee bottle test). Thankfully now everything is back to normal 20 months after we are both doing great!
I started with the symptoms at 20 or 21 weeks. I ended up having an emergency Csection after being in the hospital ( went in for 24 hour pee test but it was 3000 protein so I didn't get to leave) 4 days. my daughter was born at 25 weeks 3 days, 16 week NICU stay, happy to report she is 20 months old and healthy. I will try to do a video on my experience, but it was similar to yours!
@KattiesNo1Mommy I would love to hear about your experience! I think its a great idea to put the info out there for other women. Even though our pregnancy experiences were a rare occurrence, I think awareness is needed. Did you have any reoccurring symptoms after your daughter was born?

Thank you for doing this video Rachel! I was just diagnosed with hypertension at 24 weeks (I'm now 25, so this is all new!) and put on lebatalol. I was in the hospital for 48 hours b/c of it! So far I don't show any other signs of pre-E but am being seen by a high risk OB to make sure it doesn't happen. Glad everything seems to be getting back to normal for you, Emma is soooo cute!
@lageorgiapaperie I am so sorry to hear that you are going through that. The best advice I can give is know your body. I had all these warning signs and just thought that the doctors knew what was best. And of course the end result in your arms will make whatever you go through completely worth it. Please let me know if you need any advice or someone to just talk to. It is difficult to talk to anyone about this because so few women go through it. I am here if you need me! Take care!
