hello bernd this sounds beautifull well done such a sweet tone you get. do you record the audio separately then mix in with film afterwards i am thinking this because its sounds so good. at the moment i record staight from camcorder with a videorode mic

I'm glad you like the sound. I recorded simultanously with camera and Tascam 2488neo and mixed the Tascam track afterwards into the film. A bit tricky to get it in sync - therefor the camera audiotrack is very helpful.

sehr schönes Stück!Wollte mal deine Bewertung des 2488 neo hören.Benutzt du es schon lange?Ich mag diese Kompaktlösungen eigentlich sehr gerne,bin aber verunsichert,ob ich nicht doch einen Computer dafür zusammenstellen soll,wegen der Ausbaumöglichkeiten und des Arbeitens an einem größeren Bildschirm.Kommst du mit der Displaygröße beim Tascam gut zurecht?Qualität=professionell­?

ich arbeite bisher noch nicht sehr viel mit dem Tascam - kaum Zeit. Ich bin bisher sehr zufrieden mit dem Gerät - eine kompakte und mobile Lösung, ausreichend Anschlüsse und gute Bearbeitungs- und Masterfunktionen. Auch CD brennen möglich. Das Display könnte größer sein - man kommt aber zurecht. Gute Mikrofone sind ebenso wichtig! Bin zwar kein Profi, doch das Gerät bietet meines erachtens nach professionelle Aufnahmequalität.

I recorded the sound with a Tascam 2488neo and a Rode nt2-A mic. The guitar is custom model S32 from Lakewood guitars (Germany). It was only built once and is not in their normal program.

Sounds very Tommy Emmanuelish, good composition and very well played with lot of emotions. The new mic sounds amazing too. It is difficult to positiont he mic correctly, but I recommend using a headphone for finding the sweet spot, works for me.

Thanks for you kind words and advice. The right mic position is very important. I use headphone but in a video it looks a bit to much like Micky Mouse :-)) Maybe the use of a second mic can be positive too!

Hi Bernd. You are welcome.. I meant using the headphones for monitoring the sound and finding the sweet spot, before the recording to avoid the Micky effect. I use Rode mics too and position them like this, but roughly: 1 about 12centimeters from the 12th fret and the other mic facing the bridge but not too close to it, and always making sure not to be too close to the sound hole. EQ helps too. You can hear two mics on my recording of Auld lang syne
