I'm sorry to ask this, but I'm a very recent Christian, as as such, my faith is... shaky, to say the least. I want to be better! This miracle may be what does it. I want to be sure that it is a miracle, though. I've heard stories of false miracles before (and I'm sure God had a thing or two to say to those people). Does anyone know of a video where the people hold the fire still against them for a prolonged period of time?
Please. I don't want to commit the unforgivable sin.
@BalmungSama0. On this day there are three different acts of God working at the same time. 1. Holy Fire. Does not burn and people can hold it to their flesh and hair for a prolonged period of time. 2. Myhrr scented oil drips from above onto believers, (some get showered, some not at all) 3. Flashing light all around the church and all the way up the central cupola. when this light flashes, the fire on the 33 candles in the hands of the faithful burns two feet high in the air.
@edmanrapperu well , this isn't actualy fake , and it's the only miracle through many have actualy converted . And as far as i know christianity is the only religion in which happened any kind of miracles . So... go ask somebody who was there and actually knows about it , they will tell u more about it :D
@edmanrapperu And btw, most other religions have their own so called miracles. It doesn't take much research to find out. Just look for "miracle" on wikipedia
@edmanrapperu Please do not disrespect our sacred ceremonies. You wouldn't want Christian missionaries telling you atheism is wrong. People need to respect each other's opinions much more.
@AndreaSPitaim Crowd control. Hundreds of thousands of Pilgrims follow in the footsteps of Christ during the Holy Week before he was crucified on Pascha (English call it Easter, to the Orthodox, we really don't recognize this term. Pascha is the Greek word for Passover) The people inside usually wait 12-14 hours for the service in the Church. The people outside aren't allowed to rush the doors to get the fire. This could cause the crowd to panic.

@pjovasevic I get that, but it's hard to see that from just the videos I've seen.

@edmanrapperu what do you expect ? fire showing the face of god ?
andymboss 10 months ago
@andymboss Why not? at least that would've been a real miracle and not a primary school trick

@andymboss I know it's not fake, I'm just saying it's lame
Firebathing has been drilled into my head by everyone ever since I was a child (I was raised orthodox) as this incredible miracle.
If it really doesn't burn, why don't they just hold the fire still against their face for a few seconds and see what happens? :P

@pjovasevic Well I was raised orthodox and this was one of the lies that were spoonfed to me. I'm a little bitter because of it.

why there are people inside the church and others outside, behind barriers?
