  • Its full of triumphs

  • Banger racing scumbags. Hope the cars get their own back and take the scumbags that drive the cars with them.

  • sorry but have seen more classic cars being crushed by the scrap man every day than being raced because of the scrappage scheme so if you want to rant then rant to the government !!

  • Oh I actually agree, the scrappage scheme is absolutely criminal, infact it is indeed far worse than banger racing. The thing i hate about banger racing though is that some real classics are treated with such disrespect.

  • You banger scumbags make me sick

  • I really cannot believe people are racing these classics in such a rough way

  • banger racing is a full contact sport and these old car races only happen once a year and most of the cars are rotten and the drivers get there older cars from classic car boys witch are beyond repair for the road and banger drivers have to do lots of welding to get them ready for racing . dont think that even banger drivers would race a clean trummy 2000 that would be a waste

  • if nothing else they will run out of cars to use before long and they will have to start using something a bit newer like mondeo's,,,, theyre not getting there hands on my old t2000 unless they prise it out of my cold dead hands........

  • What puzzles me is that as a kid I used to watch MOT failure cars like this race at the local track. That was in '73. That track is closed now and I'm out of touch, but does no-one banger race MOT failure Mondeos or Vectras? I just sold a 2000 I poured money into. Did enough to save it but had my fill of the expense for now. It is true that not all cars can be saved but a mass wipeout of one model like this is still a shame. And those that steal classics to banger race are scum.

  • Shame about the Princess, only about 275 left now, only 18 Wolelsey versions.

And I can't belive all those cars were rotten, knackered Triumph 2000s are harder to find than good ones now a days.

  • banger racers dont give a fuck what they race, solid or pristine, including the ones that get hibed away,,you cant park your pride and joy any where,,asthey just get nicked

  • sad and pathetic viewing.

  • I can see why you think this, but until people are prepared to put their money and time into saving these cars then it will continue, week in week out. To me it reminds me of RSPCA adverts they say unless these dogs are saved they'll end up being put down. Everyone goes "aaah" and doesn't do anything about it! Believe me, I've done my bit living next to an animal sanctuary, and with all the cars I've saved and restored - but if you don't want it continue, do something about it! :)

  • there is warton stock car club and you can travel to buxton raceway in yorkshire or belle vue in manchester or cowdenbeath in scotland

  • any one nos how to get into somethin like this is the north west please tell me

  • Mine was`nt rotten when it was stolen and ended up on a banger track.

  • Wow that's well unlucky :( How did you know it ended up as a banger?

  • I was contacted by police after some premises were raided. They found four stripped classic cars all stolen along with number plates and vin plates, one of witch was off my car.

  • lets hope the classic car boys dont see this one lol

  • So true. They all went rotten anyway :S

  • Mine was`nt when it was stolen and ended up on a banger track.

  • I'm one of the classic car boys...

shame to see a MK1 estate as they're a bit rare, and I spotted a Rover P6 and a brave soul in a Princess too.

Like greenslave says I'm sure they were all rotten, be stupid to race a really mint solid car as they're worth money, and most of the banger racers do sell off the spare bits to us anyway.

    Looked like a good turnout.

  • Ditto, this is cringe inducing - particularly as they are cars made by defunct car manufacturers - that are classic 30+ year old machinery...

  • Are the estates rare? There's one near me just sitting on the drive, for as long as i can remember...and it is rusty as all hell...seriously you do not know rust until you've seen this car, the poor thing.
