  • I think this person should look up the word unbiased in the dictionary. How could a mormon be unbiased about their own beliefs. An unbiased person would be a neutral person.

  • and I still believe the Book of Mormon is true. I still believe that there is a prophet today on this earth. My beliefs are based off of the confirming witness of the Holy Ghost. But I have looked at my faith and belief under a lens of great scrutiny. I recognize that there are things in Church History that I wish were different. The bottom line is that there are experiences that I have had that I cannot deny. God has made it very clear to me that the LDS church is what it purports to be.

  • @emersive

It was primarily through prayer and scripture study (and reasoning) that I reached the conclusion that the LDS Church is false. Now my family is liberated and has a deeper sense of purpose.

  • @iqlusionblogspot I reached my conclusions the same way. I waded through all the anti-lit and content. And for a time I thought it might be not be true, so I decided to study objectively and see. I have honestly reached the conclusion that the Church is true. It is the only church that follows the same christ era teachings and structure of the early saints. I don't know how you get past that. After studying the subject primarily the New Testament I don't know how you have concluded as you have.

  • @emersive

"I waded through all the anti-lit and content"

I suspect the word "all" is not true. Such wading would be more than a full-time job.

"So I decided to study objectively and see"

You may have unique definitions of the words "objectively" and "see". Alma 32:27 teaches that "even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe". Alma 32, which LDS missionaries love and use frequently, advocates for biased (i.e., desire-based) believing.

  • @iqlusionblogspot I had doubts. These doubts were not something that I wanted to run from. I embraced them and considered them carefully. I don't have any desire to believe something that isn't true, just because you might want something to be true. I don't uniquely define any of the words mentioned above.

You are right that I exaggerated by using the word all. But I mean that I have seen all kinds of the anti-content when I was seeking. I was literally spending close to full time reading

  • and watching anti content. And although it would be impossible to read every post. I feel confident to say that I read or watched all the arguments (note that the most of same arguments are used on a number of different posts/pages/videos). I don't know why you brought up the Alma verse. I am not an LDS missionary. I was no trying to just believe. I was trying to find the truth about the church. Something that the content I was reading called into question. I know it is true now and my faith

  • Is stronger than it has been in a long time. In addition to my study confirming the truth the Holy Ghost has also taught me of the veracity of the doctrine and The Book of Mormon. I also cannot deny God, He has made himself manifest in my life (I'm not claiming to have literally seen him or anything, but without sharing too personal of experiences over the web.I know he is that God is really there. I believe after my investigation that the LDS Church is actually the restored Church of Christ.

  • @emersive

Through years of prayer and scripture study, I discovered that God does not exist. About once per year or so I check in with "him" and remind "him" that if I've erred, I definitely want to know as soon as possible. Still no reply.

  • This is not consistent with my experience in the LDS church. It is true that there is a promise that if you read the Book of Mormon and ask God if it is true that he will let you know by the power of the Holy Ghost that it is true. As a missionary I never discouraged anyone from having any other religious literature. And it would extremely biased to claim that there isn't a great deal of misinformation out there about the Mormon faith. I have looked at all the anti-mormon stuff out there.

  • An accurate summation of the Mormon prescribed method of "learning the truth."

  • Very funny video : )

  • cessation of revelations after Joseph Smith , Brigham None , WTF Smith , Lorenzo No, Harold Be lieve, Ezra Daft , Thomas Nonsense. It is not doctrine until the twelve apostles agree it's actually revelation from God ? Score tally Joseph Smith 15,000 revelations V's 15 successive prophets 0 ( zero , nil, none )

  • ha! awesome video... circular reasoning to support an unquestioning flock of dedicated volunteers with open checkbooks. my favorite boogieman story from my youth was the one about all these ANTI-MORMONS out there with just nothing in their hearts or minds but to DESTROY MORMONS. haha pretty funny when you get out and realize #1 hardly anyone even knows/cares wtf a mormon is, and #2 anyone who DOES care is 100% of the time an ex-mormon who got their head out of their ass and did some research

  • This is a great video lol

  • remember if you want to know about Nazis, only ask a Nazi, & if you want MORmON information about the LDS cult MORmONS are always your best source.

  • Mormon "logic" is anything of the sort !!

  • I agree with eitoobmiz They ARE a Satanic cult of zombies. I left after 50 long yrs, of brainwashing and they now hold my children in emotional bondage. They DO NOT own my children and I want them to LEAVE US ALONE!!!

  • HAHAHAHA...........MORMON'S R SATANIC ZOMBIE'S

  • Very very clever.....that was my experience many years ago. I especially liked the line "If you WANT it to be true........." Even after succumbing, falling for it all, I was then told to have no non-mormon religious books in my home, and definitely not read any..don't think..the prophet will do my thinking for me..the church is the true church restored, never changing..and then it changed, and changed again, and the bom was edited to go with the changes...etc etc etc............

  • @trelannie And it was all based on lies by one mans power-hungry quest as he molested teen girls in a secret temple behind his wifes back. Then Brigham Young broke off from there to continue with Satan's torch to lead stupid women into the desert. He murdered, then built up his own army to protect himself from the government. No wonder SLC leaders don't want their members to read books like One Nation Under Gods, Americam Massacre, and visit sites like 1857massacre(dot)com and exmormon(dot).

  • not bad ... I like it,,,,,

  • Well that's what I did almost exactly, took a Book of Mormon and read it, not only that but studied it and compared it and Joseph Smith's testimony to the Bible I already accepted as coming from God. At the same time I prayed to know the truth, if God would answer Joseph's prayer I figured he would answer mine if I was sincere.

  • What I found is that what the Bible states about Christ is true and that God does answer prayer. And seeing it became quite evident that there is a strong connection between 'the Book of Mormon' and the powers of heaven, it became apparent that Joseph Smith was a truthful person and a true prophet.

  • is this a joke? cuz if its not i can make any morman cry and reconsider there faith and realize there wrong...

    well... almost any morman.

  • Good golly, whatever made you think this was a joke?

  • haha first off mormonism is a colt. and i feel bad cause' all you mormons are believing in the wrong thing.. i would be more than happy to hep u understand why it is a colt. i dont wanna be rude and be an ass to u guys tho... i just want you guys to see all the angals

  • @TheLordofwar91 Will you help me understand how it is a colt? Are you meaning it is a young male horse? I would really like to know what an "angal" is as well. That is a good starting point for me. Thanks for replying.

  • @iqlusionblogspot Re: TheLordofwar91 "whatever made you think this was a joke?"

perhaps the fact that the MORmON religion is a joke ?

and the fact that MORmONISM has been an American laughing stock since 1830 ?

    Could that be it ?

  • Well done.

Sacred things should be dealt with in a careful way.

    So, should missionary work.

    Thanks much for the post!
