Yup he is definately a beagle. I tried baby gates in my home to keep by beagle Kermit out of certain rooms....he just laughed muahahahaha then climbed right over. They should change the breed name to Houdini! But you gotta love a beagle....they are awesome in their stubborn sweet way!

That's so cute! I have a beagle pup about 5 months named Bailey, and she's managed to escape her pen (of similar size) as well! She escaped twice on the same day, and eventually we had to cover the top of it with a separate gate to prevent her from escaping again! Beagles are really smart!
