  • supernice!!!

  • Blues. I can't choose.

  • charlie brown

  • hermoso

  • Never played a Nord, must be awesome, but, at the same time, looks so hard to configurate...

  • Nice Jam.!

  • KORG ALWAYS

  • Motif.

  • @WillTocaJr There is no Yamaha Motif in this video O.o

  • @Dutch02051990 yeah!! obviously why...

  • @FunkOffgr the Guy above my comment said: "Motif."

  • Nice jam. Thank you for the demo.

Roland does suck. Who in the Earth would make a piano sample recorded with tremolo (Fantom-XR, preset 14, bank PR-A)? You can't change the tempo of the tremolo, and you can't get rid of it, even can you turn off all effects.

Clavia is way beyond the othe two, hands down.

Next video could play one at time so we can make a better comparison?

    Thanks.

  • The Nord has a slight but noticeable reverb on it, feels more natural than the other two.

  • Nord has it all over Korg on this one... sound and looks

  • the Korg SV-1 makes a good wurlitzer e-piano emulation and the Clavia NordStage EX makes a good rhodes e-piano emulation. They are both magnificent emulation synths. Also the Roland Fantom G7 is very very good, but i can't guess that the other two aren't the original fender e-pianos if i close the eyes and listen only to them without the knowledge that they are emulations:-)

  • white man can jam...

  • That was really fun to watch...thanks guys.

  • Korg SV-1 have color RHODES !!! best from this keybouard

  • backing to these, korg sounds milder and sweeter. roland need to turn on effects.

  • I would prefer it to be compared to Kurzweil EP and Scarbee NI samples

  • @batvalj yeees!! i have scarbee rsp 73 and sound very real!!! (my control keyboard is a casio XD)

  • roland suckssssss

  • @giorgiomar95

if Roland sucks so much then why do ALOT of professionals use them?? It is like you saying that steinway and sons or even C Bechstein SUCKS as a piano manufacturer you are obviously not a serious musician to come out with comments like that.

  • @nicktheharpblower

    Whell "ALOT" is nor enough...!

Rolland its much more intuitive and practical, but in terms of pure sound quality and capabilities KORG farway beyond in every level !!!

  • Nord is the best! light & power

  • First: Nord is too loud as it doesn´t have the solo, second: If they played one other´part,, ou wouldn´t say anymore that Nord is better IMO

  • Great music! not a Competition:)

  • Korg SV-1 wins.

  • IF I WRITE IN CAPS LOCK MY OPINIONS BECOME MORE VALID.

  • @OrganSymphony9 LOLZ.

  • @OrganSymphony9 - Or simply passed over... ;-)

  • That makes a BIG DIFFERENCE IN THE END ONLY SAMPLES OF ROADS ARE NOT ENOUGH to simulate as real as possible AN ELECTRIC PIANO.

  • Comment removed

  • OK LIGHT THAT HAS NO WEIGHT IN ROLAND SOUND! IMPROVES ITS NOT A PRE ROLAND AMPLIFIERS KEYBOARDS OR THE TOP OF LINE!

The KORG SOUND HAS A FAT BUT MORE velvety and soft!

The NORD SOUND HAS ATTACKED MORE AGGRESSIVE, AND THE WAY THAT MUCH LIKE KEYBOARDIST.

BUT the Phantom G OUT AT THIS DIVISION OF KEYBOARD! ARXAND NOT A BOARD SUFFICIENT TO SIMULATE ONE AND PIANO Vitage, MUST TAKE ACCOUNT OF THE STEPS PRE AMPLIFICATION, AND OWN MATERIAL FOR MANUFACTURE OF WHERE KEY RINGS.

  • Korg SV-1. That's all.

  • THE ROLAND DOES NOT SOUND LIKE THAT YOU COULD ADJUST THE SOUND WAY BETTER THEN THIS CRAPPY VIDEO STUPID CANADIANS ROLAND FANTOM G IS WAY BETTER THE KORG AND NORD

  • ROLAND FANTOM G IS WAY BETTER

  • They all sound like toys.

Get a real Rhodes! It will sound WAY better, and it will outlive those digital motherboards by decades!

  • @iamrockstardave Get a real Rhodes... and put your Chiropractor on speed dial.

  • the fantom's sound could be a little better with some effect on?

  • It is well known that louder is better subjectively, even if the sounds are identical. I struggled to hear the Roland; it's not as loud as the other two in this vid. They may have eq'ed the bass down on the roland too. Not a fair competition. I can't comment on which sounds the best until they at least match each other in volume.

  • the dude on the roland seriously sucks!! :0)

  • sv1 wins for looks, its just a shame that the sound is too fake. the nord is the closest thing I've heard in a hardware modle.

  • I have the Roland arx-02 on my G6 and Its amazing!!! There is much more to it than this video shows. Don't hesitate to get the arx-02 board. Its Rhodes HEAVEN!!!

  • @tkrumme5000 OH I CANT WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON THE ARX-02

  • the Nord Rhodes sound is the best, and the grand piano sounds are sublime, but on the product demo they don't demonstrate the synth strings as much as I wish they would. it is as though they are assuming you will take their word that they have great strings sounds. if there is someone out there who owns a Nord EX 88: Are you happy with the string sounds on that keyboard?

It is an amazing instrument, no doubt.

  • Thumbs up if you see a nord at every concert you goes!

  • Nord's grand piano sound is just a killer....heard it live. I never heard such amazing PNO sound from keys...wauiii. Too bad it dosn't have strings and too be played WITH the PNO :-(

But a killer PNO sound :-)

  • @SamFGordon Nord Stage has strings and it sound AMAZING ! Or did you mean Nord Piano ?

  • @YaiKeyb I meant NORD PIANO - and i just bought it 3 days ago :-) So perhaps I'll buy a sound module that has just killer strings (or something like that). Can anyone recommend an inexpensive soundmodule?

  • @SamFGordon try Kurzweil ME-1. It has very good strings!

  • 1. Nord

    2. Korg

    3. Roland

  • @DJStevieSteve

    agree :-)

  • I've watched this video at least 20 times and I've been debating which kb to go with. I have come to the conclusion that no hardware instrument can beat the Nord. its the most versatile and the sounds are dead on. I love the Korg but it just doesn't have the rhodes sound that I like. It would get old really quick and the lack of pickup adjustment on it is a crime. The most realistic rhodes emulations are the ones that can be voiced like a rhodes. nord needs to work on that more but its close.

  • the roland needs some eqing and and korg needs compression and the mid sweep in the editor. nord sounds great right out of the box. its tough the compete with the nord, which is why I've decided to get the electo and midi to a weighted controller for the rhodes. should be the best of bother worlds. now if I can find decent two tier stand i'll be good to go.

  • @tyleryesta1

Just for my knowledge, what is mid sweep?

  • the sv1 has software that allows you to edit each sound. For the rhodes there is a sweepable mid band that can change the bell character. This is still not enough to voice the rhodes, they need to give you more control over the sound and people would be fine with the one rhodes patch. I bought a nord and I don't regret it, especially with all the horror stories about the sv1's keybed being faulty.

  • @tyleryesta1

    Thanks man!

  • true..roland sounds like a toy,scarryyy

  • The guy who starts off on the Fantom is by far the better musician

  • I wanna chroma-key the floor and make it look like they're playing in outer-space

  • is it possible to tweak the sv1 to sound more like the nord? which to me is like an early version of the Rhodes piano. warmer is better.

  • Nie to żebym się chwalił, ale mam stage 88EX i DŁUUUUUUGO nie zmienię! Ma wszystko to czego mi potrzeba, a barwy są najbardziej ZBLIŻONE do analogowych odpowiedników! Roland i Korg niestety muszą jeszcze popracować nad BARWĄ... Pozdrawiam.

  • that roland SUCKS! the best keyboards in the world are the clavia nord stage ex and the motif xs! no way!

  • .... Why is the Nord... Brown???

  • There's I toss up between the Nord and SV-1. I prefer the SV-1, because I don't play much organ. Organ players, the Nord is for you and EPs are a niiiiice touch. But the SV-1's Acc. Pianos, Eps, Clav, and everything else, SPOT ON! Get that Fantom out of there. But thats just my opinion.

  • @hwoodj20 I actually agree with you 100%

  • @hwoodj20 True. The sv-1 including the mechanical noises makes for a truer sound. It's a bit more open sounding as well, which is the kind of rhodes sound I like. The nord is more of a herbie type sound.

  • @quathar Exacally. Granted i programed a Herbie-ish sound on the SV-1 ;). It's also the key feel that helps the sound. The SV-1 has hammer weighted keys suited for eps and pianos, but unlike waterfall style keys on a Hammon B3. Guess what kind of keys the Nord has? Waterfall style which makes organ playing eaiser than hammers. Roland needs to hurry and throw their hat in that major digi piano ring like the Nord, SV-1, and the Yamaha CP1 (which i heard is pretty good)

  • yes it definitely is all about the action to make you feel like your playing the real rhodes. but you guys also have to look at the price difference on these. the new nord with fully weighted key's is the only one that is comparable to the sv1. not say that the sv1 is better cause it's not! but it is a lot cheaper.

  • @tyleryesta1 that too played a role in me buying the Sv1 over the Nord. Those high grade, fully flexible sounds for that low price... yea. the Nord has hella perks though. My professor has the Nord stage, and he can leave his Prophet 8 and moog voyager at home at times due to the Nord's actuall synthesizer built in. pushing the envelope of what a wavetable can do, but the sv1 is only 1 year old. They'll fight back and try to make it as beast as the Nord. And the Nord will only get more beast

  • @tyleryesta1 Ooh, and have you ever heard a Nord through a leslie cab.... it will blow your mind. Sounds spot on. But I grew up with Herbie Hancock, and he only played organ once by accident. Miles made him do it. I like organ players; Jimmy Smith, Joey DeFrancisco, so on, but I just don't play it myself. So in turn, I just fownd my place on the SV 1. more dedicated to piano style boards. Of course this was back when it was the Nord 2 and the piano wasn't too great. They fixed that though.

  • yeah i'd love to have 5g's to drop on a nord.. I'd never have to buy another keyboard. I think I'm gonna be happy with what the sv1 has to offer right now. I almost bought a mark 1 1973 at daddy junky today... its a fixer upper, but I think it would've be a nice hobby for the winter. I just absolutely love! that sound.

  • @tyleryesta1 Maan I would love to find Rhodes to fix up. Nobody but my professor and i know what a Rhodes is in this entire city. Literally! But yea he used credit card to get his Nord, Voyager, and Prophet 8. Im not ballsy enough to do that yet. But the SV-1 is a dream for me. It's very flexible and it just sounds good. It sold me on the Expression pedal controlling a Vox wah built into the board. The hammer/tine/reed sounds behind the piano and eps, key click, and amp sym, its all BEAST!!!

  • so have you messed with the editor at all to get a warmer tone out of the sv1's rhodes.? In all the demos they seem to be all belle and bark no middle warmth. I'd like to get one soon but I'd feel for comfortable in doing so if I knew I could sculpt the sound to my hearts content.

  • @tyleryesta1 Yea it's pretty easy to do that actually. there is a spot where you can turn off key click and all that other noise like the damper let off. It comes preset actually with a Herbie esq. tone. I just tweaked mine so it can sound more like it. I love that warmer tone on like slow funky stuff.

  • great that makes me feel a lot better. I really love this board and didn't want to have buyers remorse. I'm trying to get get as much info as I can from people who own it. will you be posting any videos of it? if so be sure to let me know, I'm really interested in hearing what kind of tone you got out of it. I think sv2 should be that much more tweakable in terms of having one Rhodes patch that can be set up to sound like any of them. I think more purest's would start coming around.

  • @tyleryesta1 I'll have to set some videos up after a while. I have one up of me improving on a loop. Just got bored, but nothing else yet. The purist... aaahh! let em rot! Just kidding, but this keyboard is overwhelmingly good. You will not regret that purchase. Don't forget to get padals too. Comes with a good damper, but grab you an expression pedal too. The wah wah is outta this world on that thing.

  • oh, I was under the impression that they came with the expression pedal? I have an old volume pedal from a few years back, would that work?

  • @tyleryesta1 im pretty sure it would. I use an M- Audio pedal for the Sostenuto pedal so im sure is would work. Coolist thing is that doesn't have to be an audio source as in a real wah wah. just connect a cable to it, and that into the pedal 2 jack on the back, and you are wah wahing.

  • roland sounds like a toy next to nord , scary

  • EX should have been 'dry' for a true comparison.

I think the EPs in the SV-1 are best but we haven't heard the new Nord Rhodes sample libraries yet.

The Roland sounds like only one velocity layer.

  • Nord has so right sound...

    Best rhodes clone!!!

  • @mihmus, wrong, wrong, wrong. Saved to buy the Electro three based on YOUTUBE & it sounds great through headphones, but is complete crap through an amp or PA & don't have a shoot out with another board like the Motif you'll be disapointed greatly.. Returned it after 30 days. Has absolutely no balls & any articulations (very few) are void in a band setting! SAVE YOUR MONEY & GET SOMETHING WITH ADEQUATE POLYPHONY, FULL TONE, & 88 keys! Over priced crap is Nord.

  • @ThatsABiggon Stop! I will not to buy NE3)). I owner of NE2 for a long time. And I played on Motif, Fantom and some others synths. I just know that Nord make best rhodes clones on a market. But you can think otherwise, it's your right. I play on my NE2 at home with headphones and Roland KC-150, and on gigs on other equipment. And more often NE sounds great. Nord sound bad when all sound is bad, or when soundman is a badman, with no ears)).

Motif rhodes not bad, but a LITTLE flat for me.

  • @ThatsABiggon That's not true man...you must have had a crappy amp/PA because the Nord sounds amazing through the KC-550 and every PA I've ever run through. Plus you can adjust the EQ and adjust just about everything else too...

  • @PIANOisAMAZING99, Yeah, well I tested the piece of crap through my personal KC-550, a churches KC-550 with an upgraded tweeter, their PA System (which is amazing... makes the ‘eh’ Motif pianos sound pristine), on a pro stage opening for Michael W. Smith, Through my Behringer Studio monitors, through an old KB-60,... ETC, etc., etc… If you don't think I tested this thing through every possible avenue, you're loopy. I sang the praises of Nord for years... until I bought one.

  • @ThatsABiggon What would you recommend on getting? The Roland Fantom G8 plays wonderfully and I think I'll buy one, do you know something about it?

  • @TheConfuter, I wound up with the Korg SV-1. I'm not totally happy, but it kills the Nord (which I've owned). It just sounds terrible through the Roland KC-550. My gripe with the Fantom is that it's over priced,. the factory sounds are trash, & you'll have to spend hundreds of dollars more to get it "on the level". The only thing I prefer in the Fantom is that you can edit the hell out of the EPs plus you get far more for the price. I hate Roland for the most part, but I say... GET THE FANTOM!

  • Nord 1 miejsce ! Nie musimy juz nosic Rhodesa 90KG!

  • Czy to "klikanie/cykanie" klawiszy w SV-1 jest specjalnie emulowane? bo brzmi troszkę nienaturalnie.

  • 3 wonderfull keyboard!

  • Nord Stage 1 miejsce. !!!
