heres a tip turn the ps3 off at the back HOLD the eject button touch thing and turn it on there will be a internal cooling fan for 30 seconds i hope your read this cause i had the same problems until i bought my slim but that helped so much when i did it 2 or 3 times after i turned it off

and yeah i still do it with my slim just i have to unplug it and do that i work with sony and got my ps3 1 month early and havent had a PROBLEMO!
