I can Ollie but I can't do it that high because I can't catch like you do.

I go as high as just a tap can let me, then I come down with index finger and that counts as Ollie. I can jump on objects and so on but how do I do it like you do? I mean how do I catch it?

@creatura90 like real skateboarding its practice. you start off ollieing small on a real board and get higher over time. same with a fingerboard. also, if you are using a standard 'tech deck' its kinda hard to get high tricks. you need to buy a wooden deck with bigger kicks + riptape (black foam grip tape) for more control. good luck. :)

@creatura90 well if you have the internet, ebay have a lot of stuff. search ebay for "wooden fingerboard". you can get a full set-up fairly cheap. other than that, there are many fingerboard online stores to try. join 'finger flip inc' forums for all the info you need.

@nightpray99 tech deck out of the box is probably the hardest to use. the wheel are not smooth and the trucks don't turn. but, the main thing is that they use grip tape. grip tape is good for gripping rubber shoes, but not fingers. you need to get some 'rip tape' - black cut foam tape. it will make things much much better for you. good luck! :)

@hwoarangize fingerboarding is very hard so don't give up :) it takes years of practice just like real skateboarding. it helps to have a nice setup too (not tech deck) with riptape (foam style griptape) instead of real skate grip. keep at it and good luck!

tech deck and x-games fingerboards are very good for begginers and experts but they are plastic and they both cost about 5-7 dollars but if u want a wood fingerboard u can buy them at wal mart for 10-13 dollars but some of the wood fingerboards u have to arm them like a puzzle

what setup ru using? it is harder to learn using a standard tech deck. look into buying some riptape or smoothtape. this will give more grip + control. visit ffi forums for all the details. get hold of a wooden fingerboard deck (usually larger + easier to master), second hand or new from some1 on the forums. any deck will do. go for medium kick height to start with. and no.. you can not use thumbs to initiate and control your ollies (on way up). 3 fingers is also out lol! :) hope this helps.
