Haha well I have got a Elderly Saab haha, it a 1989 900 turbo "SPG" Its only got 180hp but Ive done about 120mph with ease, saab turbo's have allways had good power.
I think my 2001 was rated at 147mph but they changed it in 2002. Please don't try to find out though. Your tires are probably not rated for that kind of speed and you could hurt yourself, or more importantly someone else.
@I believe the stop speed can be found if you explore the dash, the top speed available on the speed alarm is 155, it only makes sense that the top speed would be 155, correct me if I'm wrong...I own a 2002 9-5 3.0t.

hey saab fun. first off nice video. i just wanted to ask if this is the 9-5 arc with the v6 and the light pressure turbo. im looking to get it cause i just totaled my 9000 cs.
You could get a 2.0turbo or a 2.5 V6 in the 900SE. The 2.0t put out 185hp while the V6 put out 170hp. The 9000CSE was also available with a 4-cyl 2.3t or a 3.0 V6. The turbo made 200hp while the V6 made 210hp but with much less torque. So the moral of the story is the 9000cse 2.3t is the fastest out of the bunch, even though the 9000 is probably heavier than the 900.
I have one more question, and your the only one that i could think of who could help. I see a saab 9000cse 1997 for about 2000. Its an automatic transmission. I was just wondering if i would still be able to get that turbo noise from the blow off valve with an automatic transmission.
My car is an auto. You won't get a dramatic blow off valve sound between shifts but you still get the sound of turbo spooling and the whistle. Just make sure you check out that auto... The auto transmissions in 9000's aren't really known for their reliability/longevity.
well no lol. it has about 260 hp and 410nm tourque, but can hit 60 in 5.5 seconds. it goes 50mph to 80 mph in 3seconds. this is a v6 turbo man it should be a lot quicker than this video i guess ur comment about the turbo is the suspect... watch out though as the gunk could also be in the oil lines which mean a whole new engine. best to use mobil 1 oil. trust me the 2.3lpt with a bit of tuning is so quick. it has a smaller turbo than the aero therfore spools up quicker.
The turbo was rebuilt in October, and I've been driving it since (with Mobil 1 oil). I did get a little power back. I will have to post a new video one of these days...
Well, you're definitely wrong. This car generates 200hp stock; the 260 hp is from the recent "Arc" line cars, which have a High-output turbo on a 2.3L Saab engine. This is an Opel-sourced 3.0L 90 degree V6, mated to all-Saab parts, ECU and transmission.
This car would accelerate faster if tuned to that power level without altering boost pressure, as there wouldn't be as much lag. If I have my facts straight about how lag works, you'd have less power loss at lower RPM.
I have the same car. Yeah it alot faster then that lol. you should get the open air kit its about $80, easy to install, and you can hear the turbo spooling It sound so cool. Also how much did it cost for your turbo to be re-built just in case I need too do mine someday
Well duh, haha. Almost any performance-tuned car is going to beat a stock 9-5 V6t. I'm actually having the turbo rebuilt this week and the guy called me when he got it out to tell me there was a lot of gunk in there. Hopefully I'll get some performance back...
Strange. i have a 1999 Saab 9-3 convertible 4 cylinder, and it's a bit faster than this v6

yeah, I wasn't going I just kidding around, thanks though.

my '08 9-3 2.0T has 210hp, it has a top speed of 146, I imagine this would be higher cause the larger engine despite less HP.

@jrodigan5 I did 143 with Z tires on a new highway. It was fun, but not something I would recommend to do with out the proper driving training.

It's a 9-5 SE, which was renamed "Arc" in 2002, so yes, this is pretty much the same car you're looking at.

which is faster? a 900 se or a 9000cse?

thanks for the advice =D so your saying that even though the 9000 is heavier, it's probably still a little faster? thanks.

It's actually got the intake in it in this video. Having the turbo rebuilt was $1500.
