I played the first soul reaver and when I reaced the lands of Turel I never found him.

Instead I had a brief conversation and battle with an enemy who looked like this guy but raziel never called him turel instead he seemed more like a lieutenant of turel instead.

It bothered me at first but then seemed to make more sense when Turel himself appeared in defiance.

In the Lost Worlds site I found this in Turel article:

"[...]When Turel was removed from the game, his dialogue was partially re-used for the mini-boss (described as "Morlock" in some official guides) from who Raziel acquires the standard Force Projectile power. "The Morlock Boss" was Turel's development codename[...]"

So now I think that the weak Turelin would be the vampires and the adult one(the brown one) would be he's 3D model ingame and...

...There would be a even weaker Turelin model for the weaker kind, or maybe the weaker being the 3D model(because they look like that in the Concept art) and the brown and the non existed one he's Minions, and I can't remember if the other Turelin Vampires have the Projectile ability. And I also think the standard projectile would come with the Soul Reaver(Because of Kain's Projectile-like attack) and the amplified one with Turel.

all of the Turelim could shoot projectiles. but you have a very interesting thought there which I can confirm - Raziel did gain the projectile for the Reaver after the first encounter with Kain in beta version.

the dialogue hints it would that water would be needed to kill him, and after his death, Raziel´s projectile would become amplified (there was no dialogue recorded for this however..).

Lol, what a fool that guy is. I remember playing the game through then re-reading the manual and was like "WTF! I missed one!" I sat on the net for like 20mins before I found they cut Turel from the final game.

Games back then had quite a limited capacity. I always thought it was a shame they couldn't get an FMV ending on it instead =(

yeah, too bad Turel wasn´t included:( apparently there was one more FMV planned - the high resolution picture of the Silenced Cathedral might suggest that.

all of the dialogue which is played and not played during the course of the game is on the CD in each version. However, it can be extracted by using Soul Spiral.

There is only concept art of Turel and there are only videos along with some pictures from his territory, none of this did not made it even to the SR beta version, so I would gladly see your means to find this out.

Your reply has clearly shown your confusion - this cutscene is a reconstruction from SR1 original storyline if you can´t read.

It kills me how much they had to cut from this game due to time constraints. They really should have put in an entire other area if Turel's territory, and of course, the fight with Turel himself.

If they had done that, it would have been better than the whole complicated, unnecessary, only-there-for-explanation scenario of Turel being transported back in time into Avernus Cathedral in Defiance.

Nice to hear the original dialogue planned for SR1, I think the story would have been better for the single game, but as it was planned for further instalments, Turel was cut from SR1 and the story was left on a cliffhanger. At the time I was really annoyed at not meeting Turel, but now, having played the whole series, I feel the authors did well to make the cuts when and where they did.

i noticed mixed lines from the Morlock fight in SR1 and the Turel fight in Defiance... i guess the original game was supposed to be all in one and finishd with no sequel. now we got this seemingly unfinishd story that didnt end with much closure and *IF* continued will likely be not nearly as good as the original.

When SR1 was in production, no sequel was planned, only later when several parts of the game didn´t work as they wished for (Undercity Lair, Turel´s territory) and the lack of time, they decided to continue the story and cut out the original ending which was a good move (thus giving it much more complexity).
