I am youger than 13 and I love scary movies but after I watch them I just need to be in a place with others around so I dont get scared and then I am fine but I love this movie it is the best!

the only reason why people aren't frightened from these movies anymore, is because they know it isn't real. But can you imagine what it would feel like if you're actually in such a movie. I did that once with another movie, and I had tears comming down from my face.. believe me, if something like this would happen to you in real.. I think you would die right away from a heart attack.

the realism of movies is so disputable that i think over 80% of all movies made nowadays would be impossible, or at the very least, VERY unlikely.

so yeah, you're right. not to mention, society today has had so many horror films come out that we've gotten used to it. so much so, that i personally have found it ahrd to believe when i found out that something was a horror film. films like Jurassic Park and Godzilla, for example. scary if real, yeah. but the movie itself isn't scary at all

I agree leeb12 they were scary back then. Now horror filmes resort right to brainless slasher, blood, and gore with no real plot, story, or depth. It's scary only because it resorts to the blood. But movies way back then had more of an "intellectual" quality of being scary. Unlike the horrible movies we have now like Saw or sloppy zombie remakes. I guess it's the blood & gore that sells today and not a good story. Poltergeist was/is a great classic!
