LOL Bassa was just invented in 1907. Oromo uses the Latin alphabet / Qubee as well as the Amharic, which was adopted in 1991. Written Mende just started in about 1921. So in summary we are talking about people who have only had a written language for about 100 years or so. Quite sad really.
