It's a shame that so many people of faith believe science and their beliefs are somehow incompatible. The more I read about Cosmology and Physics the deeper my sense of wonder and gratitude for the amazing God who started it all. People of faith should take the time to learn facts such as had the early universe not accelerated at a very precise rate, hydrogen could not have formed. No hydrogen no stars,no stars no supernovae,no supernovae no heavy elements and no heavy elements no you and me.
@talkingwall I say this because throwing scripture at "pop" atheists - who have not taken the time to really search and instead read a popular book by someone like Richard Dawkins who presents ZERO empirical data to support his claims - is useless. People of faith need to be able to speak to scientific fact and tie those back to scripture. Of course it also means that events depicted in scripture that occurred before human understanding of science are not meant to be taken as literal history.
@talkingwall And I limit that previous comment (starting with "Of course") to the account of creation in Genesis. It's completely true but the author was not able to explain it using scientific fact because those facts were not known. Divinely inspired writing of that account is also true but God would have to communicate that message in language that was understood at the time. Why can't people understand this?
@talkingwall We can walk by faith in our very great God. His peace passes all understanding. Praise Him that we don't have to figure it all out. He said "come as a child".
God is amazing. He allows us to wake up each day. THe sunrises without question or delay. This act alone is wonderful and a gift. God gave us this beautiful planet called earth and yet we don't appreciate it. Hearing the birds sing, the flowers bloom, the stars held in place in sky. Praise be to God and his creations. We have to look past the material, past this society, to see the truth. I wake up in the morning and I thank HIm so much. I love you GOD THE ONLY AND ONLY
for the last few nights, i've been calling His name by night. so many times i felt like i was going to suffocate, and i called on God. He brought me through each night of coughing, and wondering how i'd make the night.
Beautiful. I love nasa's hubble site. The pictures are amazing. You must all go there and look at the whirpool galaxy (I saw it in here at least twice). The center is called the x structure. That is all I'm going to say cause you have to see it for yourself. It will blow you away.
I got the Steve Green CD with this song! Woven In Time . . . I also go the Spanish CD Yo Ire,(I Will Go) They both have God of Wonders, and I'm happy!
I heard this song first at Youth Group, and I think, personally, it wasn't the best, but you know, I thought it was a good song. Then I heard it in church. But then I went to a Steve Green concert, and I was blown away. Did you know that he sang this song to the men and women in the spaceship Colombia?(I think that was the one)As they were TAKING OFF!!!He is God's tool indeed
