Yo, Vicosity86. In WV You might see a move of some 200 coal hoppers with 5-6 motors twisting and winding their way through the Blue Ridge mountains, But in Southern Indiana you won't . Not with those geographic features they have. Lucky you, to see such monstrosities curling through those valleys and Hollows.
Did not know coal was that popular or big up that direction. But I guess it has to be. I live in Southern Wv, its super common to see 200-300 cars behind 5-6 engines at any given time. ..Nice to see others enthused about trains as well..
many of the central indiana rail lines connect to quarries to haul crushed and block limestone these can also number in the hundreds of cars ....with the price of fuel this just makes sense.
Man, I must say you guys did a very good job on this one, I was raised very near an INRD line and I love to hear them run and see them roll down the line, I love your video, keep them comin!!
Long live Merrill's (Baker's) & Reds!

The rail yards must be massive there.
We have a length limit of 71 slu's, 1,491 feet.

@TheWakieKid
It's not uncommon to see trains of 100-150 cars, many of them longer cars than these coal hoppers. Indeed, American rail yards can be huge!
