  • Love my hot rollers because my curls are loose & bouncy - but my hair grew out & it's not holding as well. Any tips? Can I get the same look with a wet set?

  • You look GOORGEOUSSSS *_*

  • I am trying SO hard to get this hair color, watched countless videos, is your hair boxed color? I'd love to know if you're willing to tell me ha.

  • @AVERYDANTAY Wow...I have a lot of hair color videos. One is called "Let Me Dye in Peace"...one is called 'Seeing Red'...and then I ave some Manic Panic tips videos. :)

  • You're goooooooooooooooooooorgeous! Thank you for this!

  • @jessieintheskywith thanks!

  • So nice! I love it. Would you consider doing a 1960s style, now that your hair is shorter? I loved Marilyn Monroe's hair in her last film "Something's Got to Give" (watch?v=X46URbjqSaw) and I think it would look very pretty on you. :)

  • @twtape I've done a few. See my '60's Inspired Look for Evening' video I did

  • I don't have hot rollers, but a lot of the styles I like on your channel use them. could I do these with sponge rollers? My hairs naturally curly, so it holds curls pretty quickly with sponge rollers. I love your channel, I've spent so much time this week watching you! x

  • @kattybd Foam rollers will work even better...knock yerself out. :)

  • You are pretty

  • How long do you keep the warm rollers in to complete the style? If you don't use the warm rollers would you still need the Tres Semme Heat Spray?

  • @magtru It varies. Until they are completely cool. No, you don't need heat protectant on cold sets.

  • you are so preety

  • I wish I was in a time when women still dressed themselves up as you do in your videos.... and also when it was an "everyday" kind of thing. To be fair, as a guy myself, I don't mind alternating between dressing in a trenchcoat or a tux and fedora and then something casual from the late 1950's... man... as a culture, we've sure lost a lot of classiness and glamour over the years. I could easily blame 1960's counter culture in general... but even the 1960's/1970's girls looked hot!

  • This cut on you is SO fabulous!! I'm excited for more videos, as I just chopped off my 12 inch hair, it's now a middy. Whew!

  • Oh my gods - What hair dye did you use to get this hair color?????? (btw, i'm totally jealous if this is your natural color.... :b )

I LOVE it! I've been wanting to dye my hair this kind of orangy red for a long time now - i'm starting to collect the courage :)

  • @0pima0 See my video called 'Seeing Red'.

  • The more I see your hair short, the more I like it! And I adore this style.

  • where did you get the clips for the hot rollers? i lost the ones my set came with :(

  • I read in the description that there would be a Hank Sr. cover, and I thought "Oh god, I hope this isn't some idiot trying to ruin good country music by making into some crappy pop song or something," but I was actually pleasantly surprised! It's pure, simple, and soulful.

and I've been thinking about cutting a lot of my hair off so I can get rid of the damage and grow out my natural color, so thanks for the great reference. :)

  • @JordanRMartin I would NEVER use anything like that in my videos. Only good music here on my street. :)

  • @LisaFreemontStreet Haha, that's good to know. Good taste in music says a lot about a person!

  • I look forward to trying these hairstyles again, I had to stop styling my hair for about 1-2 months to let it heal (turns out I have an allergy to one of my conditioners and it was making my hair fall out). It's nearly fully healed, I'm excited!

  • Since i've cut my hair as short, i've been looking for ideas. The retro styles will work wonders. Thanks for the tips.

  • this suits you perfectly!!! also loved the song!!

  • I have that picture. That is one of my favs!

  • This is my everyday hairstyle, it just naturally does it cause of my hair cut and texture(love having natural curls and fullness) great video

  • I remember an earlier video in your kitchen making a cake or cookies, Is you whole home decor int he vintage style? Would love a tour! :)

  • @preservid it's an old house...I wouldnt call it any particular style. I like mid century modern/french traditional mixed together though.

  • Can I do this with pin curls or unheated rollers instead? I don't really want to invest in heated ones and don't like heating my hair.

  • @firelunamoon Sure!

  • As always, very very pretty. I love how effortless you make this look. I feel like I always struggle and have two left hands. Maybe it just takes more practice?

  • love it!!

  • Beautiful! Makes me want to cut my hair : ). Great video

  • beautiful lady :)

  • beautiful. Love it!

  • Beautiful...Thank You...

  • Love this! It is so convenient that my hair is the same length as yours!

My sister and I did your pin curl style over the weekend and loved it. :)

  • I LOVE these short hair style tutorials--thank you so much for posting!

  • I love that hairstyle, simple and beautiful. Ashley, if I may make a suggestion, could you show us the back of your hair as well? In many of your videos I am hoping to see the back (it helps me to see it in relation to the front) but you don't turn around. I realize in this particular hairstyle, the back could be flipped or turned under, but I'm more interested in how *you* treat the back.

  • @HisWordOnly...It was the camera placement that did not work with a rear view for this style. But I believe in most of my videos I do show the back of the style and also provide a photo..?

  • Hi, Loving your tutorials. Having my hair cut tomorrow and going to ask my hairdresser for The Middy cut. is this how your hair is cut for this style and how long on the top layers?

  • @Muppet9204 No this isnt a middy. This is a bob. See my Middy Haircut video for the way it looks in that cut. I prefer the Middy. :)

  • I love this! People think that to have that put together look that it must be so much work and so time consuming, but it really isn't. Let's all embrace the glamour ladies!!!

  • Love that even though it's simple, its so classy & nice!! Wondering f you use a special shampoo 2 maintain your red hair, I got 2 dye my red hair like every 3 weeks!!!

  • @lilcherrybomb86 no...mine has faded badly...need to re-do. :)

  • sometimes my curls in the front split and no matter how hard i try (even wetting and pinning it) it continues to separate in that same spot ever run into problems like this? it happens a lot when i use sponge rollers the hair rolled in the same curler splits in half for some odd reason :(

  • @adg135 Sounds like a Cow Lick. Mine does that too but it just happens to be on the side I part it. You have to force it into submission. If you continually train it while wet to do what you want, it somehow learns...that's all I know about that. :)

  • @LisaFreemontStreet here's the odd thing..i've been doing these hairstyles since i think about your first or 3rd video and it does it at random...i suppose my hair like me just pms's sometimes lol ;p

  • That's a great picture of you at the end.

  • You make me want to do a big chop!!

  • do you miss your long hair?

  • @SistaSledge101 not a bit. I am very unattached to my hair. I have had it many different lengths and my favorite is actually just past my shoulders.

  • Did anybody else notice how STUNNING Ashley's profile is when she was putting in her flower? Absolutely gorgeous! I'm starting to think I need to cut my hair off so I can do this..

  • @ShePaintsMusic Thanks so much peoples...:)

  • @ShePaintsMusic Awwww...13 people are very nice. :)

  • i love your hair tutorials. ive learned soo much watching them. cant thank you enough

  • You look so pretty with this style of hair do !

  • Great look(and I adore your hair colour. Btw it always makes me smile when I see your "so long, Dearies" :) Sweet x

  • I love the picture at the end!

  • This hairstyle really suits you :) Beautiful

  • Love it....another great job :)

  • love the style and will try that one tomorrow

  • this is such a great style! Wishing I'd straightened my hair last night after I washed it so I could try this today. Might be time to break out the straightener and hot rollers, because this is seriously one of my favorite looks ever. Also, thank you for the music - I'm off to check out his channel right now! :)

  • Do you think you could do a hair appliance video? Like to show hair dryers and curling options with heat? That would be amazing!

  • @TinaTokyo I have done a few videos like that...find the 'must have tools for vintage styling' video and the' how I roll' video.

  • I can't keep the volume on the front section, it always falls on my face and it's so annoying, any tips? :)

  • @StylemyClosetTV I don't typically find that happens...are you rolling that section back and using products? If you roll in the direction you'd like the curl to go and spray it in place, it usually won't fall. Maybe your hair is very heavy and you need stronger hold products. Try aiming that section back while it's wet, using gel, and then blow it dry and apply your rollers.

  • @LisaFreemontStreet It's very thick indeed, i'll try that next time, thanks :D

  • I must get myself some curling rolls. My hair is about the same length though very thick and curly in itself. But those controlled cures lookes sooo well groomed

    .

  • Wow that's some nursery you have there! Lovely style

  • @zelilgirlI1ncenu Thanks!

  • You're a lucky woman to be able to pull off so many different hairstyles, you know that?

  • @cherryxxangel89 See my recent 'New Haircut' video...it shows me putting the rollers in.

  • is this music by your friend? that one you posted his vid awhile back.. sounds awesome just like his other songs! beautiful vid mama

  • @pittykitty32 yes, this is my friend Michael. Misty's husband (the girl in my Jean Harlow and Doris Mayday Inspired videos).

  • looks beautifull...... love this makeup have you done a tutorial on it? xxx

  • Ahh! As soon as I grow my hair out, you cut yours and make me wish mine was short again!

  • @2:26 Holy Ghost, Batman!

  • love it ^^
