When he talked about flying back from NY, dejected because he lost SNL to Gilbert Gottfried, and then in his panic came up with Pee-wee Herman -- the first thing I thought of was Walt Disney, dejected because he lost the rights to Oswald the Rabbit, and on the trip home came up with Mickey Mouse.
