Well, lets see. I've been flying aircraft since I was 13 years old. I'm now 46. I grew up in t military, and am quite familiar with everything that isnlt classified, and have flown quite a few military aircraft. I was also in line to watch Star Wars when it opened in 1977 (I think it was) and know the difference between Science Fiction dreamt up by George Lucas and an Aerodynamically sound fighter jet. Is that enough?
Captain cardboard's X-Wing is what you are talking about right? They are mostly resin, very hard to work with. One of the best, easier alternatives is to buy a "Fine molds" X-Wing. They have a 95% accuracy rating and they sell models in 1/72 and 1/48 scale.
What you know clouds your mind, honey doesnt know anything therefor its possible. I believe xwings could fly in our atmosphere and if we had the engine tech easy to pluto, ion drives are being delevoped, they are from starwars in 77 it was science fiction, now they are working in a lab here in australia i believe. Dont let your knowledge get in the way, a lot of thigns are possible people just dont do it for various reasons
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE X-Wing foghters. I study the available Studio Scale models guys are doing all the time, because they have reproduced exactly what was done in '75 or so on the originals, and currently I'm building two different models. I would love to see it fly, but spacial mechanics just won't allow it to function as it did in Ep. IV, and it will be centuries before man could make engines that small that could drive it at light speeds. Something like the Enterprise would come first.
Honeypot you stupid idiot, you're saying we will have a Starfighter the size of a large SUV patrolling Earth's atmosphere at speeds of up to 3,000 MPH with high-powered laser cannons and a highly intelligent robot making calculations and repairing parts of the ship by 2030?
@TheOriginalEAGLE Aerodynamics don't matter in the vacuum of space. I'm not saying that we're going to ever have x-wing fighters, but they don't need to be aerodynamic.
As for atmospheric flight, what would hold us back is what science fantasy calls "repulsors" not jet engines, we're not likely to ever have that technology so your argument can still stand, just modified a bit.
150 videos and you still haven't figured out how to use a camera; well obvisouly your not Japanese.

i think the can have energy fields, to influence the airstreams arround the ship.

dude take your xwing to a aircraft designer and make it into a real flyable fighter jet
