You don't need such programs, Windows automatically allocates memory.

These just send read-access RAM to the pagefile which can cause HDD thrashing(aka more read write cycles)

Get more RAM instead of using junk programs

Unused RAM=Wasted RAM=No need to free anything

Tried this, got 456 mb of "unused ram" I checked Task Manager and it had just taken the ram that was cached and added it to the free ram, my computer was running slow, I restarted it, then I checked Task Manager again and my computer took back the free ram and put it back in the cached, this doesn't work.

Haha I have 1 gig and 300 mb on some computers goes to your integrated video if you have that. If you don't have integrated video and your ram is lacking this will help but if you have INTEGRATED VIDEO AND SOUND your computer MUST use this ram or else your video and sound will lag haha so if you free up the ram for your integrated video your computer will actually run slower so before you try this, check if you have integrated video or not : P

it depends on the type of memory u need for DDR2 RAM, to get the fastest ram, it would cost $40 form best buy (don't go to best buy). try computer parts stores. don't get it used. check you computer specs then buy. then again, it might not even be the ram, it could be the CPU or GPU. check the minimum requirements of the game and compare that to you computer specs, that would help you make sure its you RAM that is the problem.

But im pretty sure its my ram, because i have about 380mg, my computer came with 512mg. and 380mg is pretty low to play sims 3. i recall having the same problem with sims 2 when i bought it on my old computer, i had to get new ram, and a new graphics card, and that was when ram was 200$.
