I wish I would've seen the Elmer's tip a few months ago when I crackled a photo box. LOL That is so awesome! Thanks so much for this series of videos. Loving it! ~ Pat :)
Thanks so much for the money saving tips and ideas. Using what we have instead of hoarding it a great one. Personally I hate waste so I saved every "scrap" from a layout or mini album project. Needless to say the "Scrap" Bin was getting out of control so I've challenged myself to eliminate the waste by only using my "Scraps" to make cards. It's been fun and my valentine's are unique but I'm now using "what I've got". Keep up the good ideas!
Just wanted to pop in and say thanks again for all your cool techniques and projects you come up with and especially for sharing them so freely.I'm with you on trying to do less hoarding of my precious items and more of using what I have(key word would be trying).Anyway it's extremely late here and I should try and get a few winks before I hunt down my elmers and create and crackle. Thanks again.
Thanks so much for doing this series.....I can use all the help I can get with saving money. LOL I have proclaimed 2012 as the year that I use my stash instead of hoarding it, but I'm like you, its not a resolution....LOL Look forward to seeing other installments:)
I'm soooo excited to start crackling! :) Thanks Gina, I'm one of those newbies, so don't think that all of your subscribers already know everything. I have a tip for you to explore. I am buying indoor/outdoor craft paint from michaels because it's self sealing, which would be great for this technique. I am anxious to find other uses for indoor/outdoor paint as well. Does polyurethane varnish go over this okay, I wonder? Anyway, I'm looking forward to your new and older videos. ~Caroline
ThX Gina for the wonderful money saving tips! Keep them coming because paper crafting can be sooo expensive & if we can save some money & still get the same beautiful results, I'm all for it!
Thanks for sharing these tips. I have heard of using the Elmer's School Glue before but it was never explained or demonstrated before. Everyone just assumed that everyone else knew how to do it. Thank you again.
@aissa19 Hi thanks so much for watching and your sweet comment! Well I did get a new camera for christmas, it was not what I needed so I took it back until I can find the one I really want. The one I used for this vid was just behaving for a change! lol Happy New Year ~gina
Great tips, Gina! I've heard of the glue tip before but I've never tried it yet. One of the things I'm trying to do this year to keep from buying so much, is to keep track of how much I spend on crafty goodies. Sounds scary, but I'm hoping it will give me a little more willpower! TFS and Happy New Year! Heather
Great video! I save money by hiding cash in the closet!! I always forget about it for about a year! haha :) and using coupons of course!! Even on one dollar items :)
Tip #1 is a good one for all of us. I like the look of the glue effect sometimes better than the look of the smaller crackle you get with the crackle medium. tfs
Tip 1--So true! I need to use what I have. I could go literally years and only replenish adhesive and print out photos. Tip 2--Wow!!! Thanks, awesome!! I will def use this. Looking forward to your next tips.
Very cheap PVA glue works too for those in the Uk who can't get Elma's. My resolution is also to stop buying things. I need a bigger room to fit it all in.
Hi Gina! Love the two tips you went over in this video. I was wondering what you mean by "top Coat". Is that just any acrylic color paint? Or something specifically called 'top coat'. TFS!
Oh wow great tip thanks Hun I struggled to get the plaid one and can only get the small bottles but this is going to be brilliant and I lovemoney saving and I actually prefer the effect u get from the glue lol tfs x
@Debbie462 Hi thanks for watching and your comment! Yes it does work! I base coated with pink on the sample I showed with the words "money saving brand" written on. Happy New Year! ~gina
Hey GG, thanks for the tips and who doesn't want to save money eh ? I need to find a glue that will work here too . We " as usual" don't Have the Elmer's glue >_<
Hi Gina!!! This is great! thanks for sharing! Having younger kids who still do projects for school, I have a ton of this stuff! LOL!! I will have to start dipping into their supplies now! LOL I am so glad to hear the giggle in your voice again!! ;-) Hugs, Rachel
I total agree with you about using what you have because I am going to try to use instead of buy this year. the crackle idea is great and I will have to try this with the glues that I have as you can't get Elmers here
love using elmers!! My sister saw me do that and now she is doing her own frames! also 1st saw drew do this.. Awesome tips Gina.....i need to work on tip#1.. i say this after i just did 3 purchases online! LOL
all last year i was using what i have and i do use the glue and paint for the crackle since i saw drew do his awesome work. thanks for sharing these tips
Thanks so much for the great crackle tip, Gina! I really need to try it. My son has lots of leftover Elmers glue. And I'm just as bad about using what I have. You can tell by my endless haul videos! LOL! I'll try to be better at it this year!
so funny you mentioned use what you have because that was my plan for this year.. I've been doing this youtube thing for 2 years and got out of hand buying things from watching youtube videos. sure I won't stop being a part of youtube I just need self control and use what I got to make it work.
Awesome tips, G... Believe it or not I don't have Elmers glue. Oh great. Something else to buy... Just Kidding!! I have the brand name so no need to buy elmers. hehe! TFS... Hugs!
OMG I was thinking of that today... I need to use what I have. Thank you for your advise and I will look forward to your money saving craft supplies ideas :)
What a great way to start the new year!! Thanks so much for sharing! Can't wait to see what you have next. Have a wonderful new year ahead, filled with only the best!
I am pretty new to scrapping and I don't have money to buy new products. This is really a great idea since I have this around the house. Thank you such.
@coolio1811 Hi Elmers is a PVA based glue although it has other ingredients that makes it a bit different. I think if you can find out what white glue your local elementary uses for their childrens art you might be able to give that a try or some other paper glue. Thanks for watching. ~gina
I love you idea of sharing tips. It would also be fun to answer questions people have ,such as how can I stop my chipboard (cereal boxes) from warping when I glue paper to it? I'm sure alot of people have questions too. If you think of a format I would be glad to help
Hello Gina, thanks for sharing your ideas. I need to use what I have too. I love to crackle and now I will use tip #2 also. thanks for sharing...Becky
Awesome!! I love this idea!! Im like a little kid with the crackle tip!! I have 3 little girls that love to Craft!! Lol! Not to mention homework!! Guess what I have by the bucket loads! Between glue sticks and liquid glue, its ridiculous! Whats more ridiculous is that we actually go through it! Lol! Im gonna get crackling! ;0) TFS!! PS You can get it by the Gallon with a pump! I only know this because I was a daycare/preschool teacher! I swear! Lol!
