  • Nice pornstache on the captain

  • smokies is better

  • Some really good memories. Thanks for posting.

  • I LOVE their version, BEST ONE! its so timeless I love her deep soulful voice! WHOO SING IT TONI! GO HEAD GIRL! LOVE YA!

  • My favorite C&T song. I remember them opening with this in 1980 at the Universal

    Amphitheatre in LA. Heaven!

  • Those two are pure class!

  • @CanyonTide You are so very right about that.

  • Ah, my Toni and Daryl!!!

  • Did she have kids?

  • Nope!

  • Dude.....Libs Lie.....Didn't you know that?

  • Just a minute now. It wasn't their fault that they tried to claim their wedding date as Valentine's Day. It was a publicist that made them do that. If you're gonna lose respect for someone, lose respect for the publicist!! This person also made Toni lie about her age. She mentioned all of this in her first blog. They are still very nice people and down to earth. That's to God's honest truth.

  • The Captain And Tennille will always be remembered for their #1 Hit, "Love Will Keep Us Together" in 1975, and rightfully so. But just one year later, Toni Tennille accomplished what even Smokey Robinson couldn't do in 1960. She put some much needed "Pop Life" into an old Miracles tune called, "Shop Around." ...

  • ...The Captain & Tennille refined the song with an energetic, more upbeat mixture of pop, funk, and blues, to what was the former #2 song from 1960. But the year, "1976" will always be revered as perhaps one of the two greatest, and most competitive years ever in Pop music history, which may have accounted for Captain & Tennille's #4 showing of what turned out to be only one of many merited non-Chart Topping Hits from 1976!

  • Wow! I'm not sure which is dodgier..Toni's new hairstyle or the Cpatain's moustache!

  • i really love them very very much.... love her voice. fan from malaysia...... really really wonderful. nowadays can't get singer like them any more.....

  • love them

  • Me too!

  • How ridiculously GORGEOUS is Toni?

    That's a WOMAN kids.

  • Toni is very gorgeous!!! I don't see anything ridiculous about it. I just savor it and get a happy feeling. She still is gorgeous at 69 (almost 70). She doesn't look 70, she looks more 50ish. Anwyay, what a beautiful lady.

  • Daryl Dragon is a musical monster!!!!

  • Word.

  • I love them, are they still together? As a couple...

  • Yes they are still together. In fact, they just celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary on November 11th!

  • My momma told me to shop around too.

  • OH BOY....yeah shop around.....great song!thanks....

  • She's hot (and I'm a girl too, Breanna)!! I just love her. Our local big band station plays her American Songbook standards and she ROCKS. Would love to meet her. What a gal!

  • Yea lets just skip that first sax solo. lol

  • love that voice of tony's! and she was so hot!(and i'm a girl saying that)

  • It's funny that you should say Toni is English because I have a friend that looks like her that happens to be English.

  • Toni Tennille was born Cathryn Antoinette Tennille on May 8, 1940 in Montgomery Alabama. That would make her 68 in May of this year and she has most certainly never worked at McDonalds or been a bus driver, get your facts straight!

  • Happy Belated Birthday Toni!!

  • That Dragon guy is pretty close to being a genius with his arrangements.

    His clavinet stuff is superb.

  • You are so right!! The Dragon guy is a musical genius with his keyboards and other stuff!

Toni is also a musical genius that was gifted with such a heart-warming voice!!

  • Amen to that.

  • this brings back memories for me....she has the most amazing blues voice that was always underapreciated...both were/ are in fact very serious musicians....i love love love the captain and his lady....sure glad theres clips of them still

  • I know just what you mean marniparni. I totally agree with you 100% that Toni and the captain are serious musicians. I love them more than I can describe how much. I'm thankful for all these clips too!!

  • @marniparni I agree. I appreciate these 2 wonderful people with all my heart. They deserve more recognition than they get or ever got. These are 2 of the greatest people that ever lived.

  • @marniparni I also hear Toni covering a lot of Jazz tunes on my fav Ustream station. Toni and Daryl are dyed in the wool professionals...real musicians.

  • @marniparni You got that right. Takes me back to my teenage years.

  • Toni was hot as a blonde...

  • You are so right!! She's a blonde today and still looks hot - even for her age.

  • I compeletely forgot about this song!

Oh yeah, brings back the memories.

  • Yes this is a great song!

  • I like this version...same with David archuleta

  • I like this look better on her

  • And Farrah did not had flat blonde hair color. It was multi tonal. There was several shades in that coiffurre, not just yellow like Toni's.

  • In regard to Toni's hairdo's from the 2 shows; It's not a bowl -cut it was called pageboy. Men also dawned the cut. Someone said Olympic Medalist Dorothy Hamil had a page boy. Thats not true. She had what was called "Short & Sassy" or "The Wedge" Note the lack of length in back. Toni's page boy was more like Sabrina from Charlie's Angels.

Just be glad our lady didn;t sport a rad mullet. Sorry dear.

  • I like Toni's hair like that. She looked cute that way!

  • That's my mom's fourth cousin! :)

  • Same here, she is so great.

  • The bowl cut was iconic as Farah's hair. How could you hate it? DA90027 is probably Dorothy Hamill

  • I'm with you totally 100%. I think the bowl cut looked cute on her. I like it so much I wanted to get my hair cut like that, but unfortunately it didn't look right on me because my hair is thick and course. If I had it cut as short as Toni's (the bowl style) I'd look like Harpo Marx.

  • NO, I prefer this look, more glam, she looks like one of Charlie's Angels with this hair, that 70's bob was not very attractive on ANYBODY! It was far from sexy, looked like a child ion the 1930's where they had no money so they cut around a bowl!

  • Yeah this look is good too. I admit, I still like the bowl cut. That's how the Beatles used to wear their hair. Now her hair is very short and it still looks good.

  • I liked the bowl cut so much that I attempted to get my hair cut like that, but it didn't look right on me, because my hair is different. But now her hair is very short, I wouldn't want my hair that short until I reach her age.

  • You're wrong about that. Dorothy Hamill was both adorable and beautifully sexy in that cut.

  • And so was Toni Tennille. That's her signature cut.

  • the bowl cut actually IS her sig. look yet she looks SO much better and hotter w. this Farrah, feathered cut.

  • I think she looks good either way.

  • Yeah this is undeniably funky as hell. The Captain is totally in control. Is that a Moog he plays for a split second? Toni is smokn'. Good God what a hottie.

  • Her hair is gorgeous here, that bowl cut sucked!

  • I think the bowl cut was cute. It didn't suck. Her hair looks gorgeous any way! She looks like a beautiful blonde goddess!!

  • I love her hair here, I always hated that "bowl" cut she used to wear!

  • What's wrong with the bowl cut. She looked cute that way.

  • gOOD God... Toni got my monitor SMOKIN. dAMN she could SANG.

  • this is like roller skating on my computer lol

  • So awesome these two. Great keyboards, arrangements and wow Toni what a voice!

  • I know just what you mean. Toni's voice just warms my heart!!!

  • Hey,surfwid - you sang backup on this performance? You rocked!

  • Wow! We did this over 30 years ago. Time sure does fly past, doesn't it!

  • I never knew this existed. She looks like Sandy in "Grease" after the "transformation". She's looking smoky-hot!

  • Thank you, I didn't get a chance to see her Talk Show because it didn't show in Atlanta. Now I get a chance to see some of the show. Thanks

  • That song reminds me of my sisters 76 gremlin x,when she first got it

  • Love it!! Love it!! Thank you sooo much...anyone have the midnight Special performances of them???

  • One of my favorite songs and singer! Thanks!

  • She's my favorite singer too! Anything she would sing is my favorite song!
