Im in a cooking course now. I went shopping for celery and the lady gave me this fugly brown ball. I was like "NO I want celery" she's like this is celery. I ended up having an argument with her and then she stuck it into my nose and Im like "ahhhhhh, CELERY" hehe It may look ugly or alien but the root brings out more of the flavor and its even more perfect for making celery soup.

Shave it raw in a salad.

Finely shredded along with carrots it makes a wonderful chicken salad. Also just chop it up like a potato for soups.

I discovered this in Romania they use it for everything there and the funny thing is you never see the regular celery. I did not misss it , root is just a wonderful .
