  • Double Dragon, Super Mario Bros, DuckTales, Chaos Engine, Zelda, MegaMan and ofcourse The Game Genie! Oh the memories, I can still feel the dust going into my eyes when I used to blow on the cartridge :'( I miss those days!

  • 3:45 RIVER CITY RANSOM was the SHIT!!!! top game for my NES!

  • My NES still works (perfectly), after 21 years of loyal service. Now my daughters play with it.

My parents still sings the "underground" song of the first Super Mario Brothers, you can say that that little gray console is part of our family history...

A great video, almost made me cry.

  • The first game I ever played on Nintendo was the adventures of Bayou Billy. oh man that game made me scream so many times. I finally beat it and it was the most completed feeling I ever had :)

  • Percent I relate to this video? 100%.

  • You have Arkanaoid????

  • @WenaxBkn310 No!!!!!!!!!!

  • My cousin had an NES and i would borrow it all the time, my parents never bought it for me because they said I could always borrow his, so when I got old enough, around 4th grade, they agreed to buy me the Super NES which was the first console I ever owned. Both of those consoles where the greatest of all time.

  • if it wasnt because the NES gave me a lot of trouble, I wouldnt be playing them on my Wii..... i love my NES to the death but now i only play the games on the Wii.

  • Really? You were quite inefficient as a child. Everyone knows that jumping on the Koopas gets you more points... =)

  • Monster Party FTW

  • It was like 6 years ago. I dun think I had an NES, but instead, another type of game console, very small and have similiar gameplay to the NES. Slotting in the cartridge was already problem and I spent like 30 minutes getting it to work. I usually play alone, always playing the same Super Mario Bros everyday. I try other games and they always crash on me, showing me that glitchy screen everyday. Usually they dun even work, its been part of my childhood. I miss those games. Im now 12. :)

  • I almost shed a tear. You sir are a legend.

  • Classic gaming is awesome. Give me CoD or Halo and I will break the disc over your head.

  • i remember that we would allwasy ask to go to grandmas cause she had 1 and we didnt have any systems

  • Totally agree, never gets old. Elec Man theme in the background ftw btw.

  • @NintendoSpiderMan i no i was Born in 97 :l

  • Well Said SMongoose!!

I play my NES almost daily and still have my first NES console ;0)

Ive repaired it and replaced the 72pin 3 times and am needing another lol!

I have almost every console out there but the NES will always be #1 in my book.

  • @russell56443 Clean you games.. there's no reason you'd need to replace it 3 times. I never replaced mine and my games play 95 percent of the time first try

  • i had a famicom

  • @fjkdfrefneklrj i don't see what you are complaining about. it's just a waste of words

  • This video is awesome

  • @y2k4ever1 I have a perfectly functioning NES from around late 87 or early 88, at least that's what a fellow youtuber told my about my serial number. The games blink about 1 in every 40 times I play, and even then, only one or two games do it. The trick is to unlock the cartridge so it's in the up position when you're done playing.

  • Controversially my NES works perfectly, and the problem with games were you didn't properly clean them, anyhow i get what you are saying its not the same to play emulation, but the real deal, i share your point of view.

  • <3 clasics ftw! i my self grew up with star fox 64 and sonic (the original one not the shitty 3D) then someone broke in distroyed my famlys saga and stole our n64 :(

  • I REMEMBER AND TO THIS DAY STILL HAVE THE RED LIGHT BLINKING AND IT ONLY HAPPENS WITH ONE GAME............. BATTLETOADS

  • EWWW LJN

  • @knuxking Despite what the Nerd said, not everything LJN made was terrible.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos true.. idk any good games actually. they made the rollin rocker. he drinks rolling rock on the rollin rocker. ill ask him if i get to meet him because my friends know him. ill ask are there any good LJN games?

  • @knuxking Gotcha! is a great game. Jaws is another good one. And though most people don't agree I think that Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm St are both decent games. I think most people don't like Friday the 13th because it's so hard.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos I have friday the 13th. It is a hard game. Battletoads is also a hard game. i wanna get more games. i only have super mario bros without duck hunt, super mario bros 2, super mario bros 3, battletoads, and friday the 13th

  • i loved my nes until i had to take it out back and put it down

  • @chaosspawn420 I loled

  • Agreed bout blinkin light lol even after new pin conection lol same thing but still have it and will always love it :)

  • yeah silvermongoosevideos " I had a gameboy and just like you blow into the cartrige.

I still blow into my ds and 3ds game cards, just for the joy.

  • Just out of curiosity what year was it when you got your Nes. I'm guessing around the mid 90's because it was 20 dollars.

  • @Xinn2000 Maybe sometime around there. I'm not sure though.

  • Just wow! Great video!

  • this video makes me kinda sad because im 14 and i missed the nes instead i had the n64 which was awesome but i do agree with you, these kind of games do have a great effect on people.

i used to spend hours chopping down all the signs in ocarina of time or running from the evil chickens!, that might sound strange but those memories mean a lot to me...

  • awesome vid i'm 12 and i bought the NES cause i wanted to reexperience the old NES. Aldo my brother coul'd play NES games on the Wii virtual console i just wanted the NES so bad. Its awesome.

  • I don't have any nes memories but I have tons of n64 memories. I'll never forget when my mom, brother, and myself went to a garage sale and found a nintendo 64 for $15. It came with the system, 4 controllers (2 were the atomic purple color), a rumble pack, and Mariokart 64. My brother and I spent hours playing that thing! We collected more and more games. This is around the time when people had gamecubes and such, and my cousin would always criticize the graphics. We played it until my brother

  • i have the same memories .....

  • u should make more of these vids! there awesome! :)

  • @RareStuffChannel I'd love to, trust me.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos Why don't u not make anymore ? when u get the time for a vid?

  • @RareStuffChannel I don't know when I'll have time

  • @SilverMongooseVideos dude u r a fag!

  • @rodfavra123 I'll let my fiance know. She'll be surprised!

  • What a great story!

  • Nintendo: "Uh huh... Yeeeeah... Go oooon..."

    A month latter...

Fanboy: HEY ALL MY CHILDHOOD GAMES ARE ON THE WVC!

    Nintendo: "Success!"

  • 1:19

...what was that game doing in that person's collection?

  • @TheBuzaShow Being awesome, what else!?

  • wow i almost start crying im not joking it was so butiful!

  • thank you

  • Yes! Yes!

  • i feel the same way, but i had a genesis. i couldnt get far in most my games cause of difficulty, theyd freeze, and id die from controler issues, but i love them more than anything new today

  • Never!

ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever.........

  • I have a Wii with a bunch of old school games installed as VC (all the old zelda and mario games amongst others). I even have adapters for the wii so I can play the games with the right controllers (PM me if you wanna know where I got them). Sure, it added to the experience, but It still doesn't feel right. I totally agree with @SilverMongooseVideos that the games should be played on the (S)NES.

Anyway... My dad bought me a NES as an early christmas present. Now I just need to collect games :D

  • i have a super NES and a PS3. i still want to play my Super NES. and im getting a NES for christmas

  • @SilverMongooseVideos my mom and dad. they got it off ebay. i saw it when they won the bid and i looked at the page

  • @rollercoastermaniac2 What did they think of you asking for something older than yourself, lol?

  • @SilverMongooseVideos ... infact they didnt care, and it arrived today :-3

  • @rollercoastermaniac2 Awesome :)

  • i have a question......butT?

  • @FOZproductionz but.....?

  • @SilverMongooseVideos yea thats what i typed yo

  • hey are you from canada?

  • @rockyhorror1297 Yuppers

  • @SilverMongooseVideos I thought so.. because in one video you said for all you " americanos" or something like that... and you have an accent.. its weird alot of game reviewers on youtube are from canada

  • @rockyhorror1297 I can only think of two others. Who are you thinking of?

  • @SilverMongooseVideos you, mn12bird, some other guy.. and thats it

  • @rockyhorror1297 lol. Ya, I can only think of him, HappyConsoleGamer, and myself but I'm not too involved in the youtube gaming community.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos You should be your really good at reviewing games. Your like the only game reviewer on youtube thats not nerdy

  • @rockyhorror1297 lol. Thanks. I wouldn't go that far though.

  • I was technically born in 1990, but my older sister had a NES and it got played all throughout the 1990s, even got another one after someone (not me) left it out overnight (why, I'll never know) around 1995 and it rained.

  • The stuff now a days just isn't the same. I was born in the 90's, but I grew up playing on my friend Kelsey's NES, and my other friends N64. Also a gameboy color which I got in 1st grade. Then we got a gamecube when I was 9. I then played super smash bros and zelda on that. But now a days, nothing compares to the old 16 bit graphics, digital nintendo music, random crashing, and yes, blowing into cartridges. :)

  • thank you

  • whaaaaaa!

why cant i be born in 1980?

grew up in a time when Nintendo and Ghostbusters were the best things ever?

instead i have memories of playing PS2 and rubbing the shit outa the discs cuz they didnt worked and only bad movies one after another only made to make money?

yeah, i bought myself a NES from ebay, but i aint got memories for it!

    that realy sucks.

  • @0M9H4X well if you grew up with the PS2 then you should be about 12 or 13, assuming you played it when it was new. Your childhood isn't over yet and I found age 13 to 16 to be some of the best times in my life and those were the early 00's.

  • I never grew up with the NES, but damn I wish I did. Those consoles were so simple and awesome. I grew up with playing on ps2, gamecube, and xbox, and I was even amazed by Super Mario Bros. even after playing those newer games! Personally, I'm still a child, and I prefer playing retro games over the xbox 360 games like Halo, Call of duty and that kind of stuff. When I saw my bro playing super mario bros. on the cirtual console, I wanted to play it so badly, that is what made me a retro gamer.

  • LOL...just did my version also yeah river city is one of my favs and also Dodge Ball too. so many to name will be working on a sega one also.

  • i really like these videos

  • Mary-o huh?

  • @crazyjman0016 If its good enough for the Super Mario Brothers Super Show its good enough for me.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos

they say it that way in that show? guess i never noticed it.

also it occured to me that you could be from canada, so if you are. im sorry for being a dick :P

  • @crazyjman0016 You know it's weird; only some characters say it sometimes. And ya, I am from Canada. I think Canadians say it that way more often than not. No idea why.

    No worries, man.

  • I remember when I was A kid and my parents got my sister and I an NES. I thought my dad was so smart for knowing how to hook it up lol. I was born in 1980 so I have so many memories of playing nes with my friends, I have 2 now one extra in case and when I play it always brings me back to me childhood, so good to be young and carefree. GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!

  • I dont have NES memories but I have GameBoy memories. I remember playing super mario land on vacation and when I was waiting for my bro to come out of school, and blowing on the catridge when it didn't work. I also remember Pokemon Blue...

  • "classic gaming never gets old " , I'm the only classic gamer in school . i have a nes , snes , n64 gamecube and wii , when everyone is always like " ps3 /xbox 360 is better than nintendo by a longshot " . Only if everyone knew that without Nintendo , we may not even have video games today after the video game crash of the 1980s.

  • no one that plays video games now understands the importance of the nes and genesis without those system and classic games there would be no halo or modern warfare i am 14 and i am the only teenager i know that understands that games like these are what started it all.

  • @mangafan0101 , im 11 , and im the only one in my school that understands classic games . All of my friends are OBSESSED with modern warfare 2 .

  • Whats that music at 2:34

  • @RedLink27 Elecman's stage from Megaman

  • @RedLink27 So it took me about a month but I finally added the music in the description.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos In the 3rd grade, I played Metroid on Metroid Prime, and I told my Dad I wanted a Nintendo. I got 5 of them, but none of them had the necessary hook-ups were present. We looked high and low for hook-ups, and much to our surprise, we bought the hook ups, and I just loved playing that VCR with the Rectangular controller. It never disappointed me, even back in 2003 when I first hooked it up. I still play my NES, and I still enjoy it today.

  • @IvoryGecko1993 Just so you know, you don't have to do a @SilverMongooseVideos for me to read your comment. I read them all. Thanks for the comments.

  • never had nes , i had Atari

  • Games nowadays aren't as unique as the old ones, sure there is still nintendo, but rest of companies just makes generic shooters for stupid nerds that won't play anything that isn't grey and full of gore. All that matters for them is graphics. For all this nerds and arguing console fanboys reading this comment I have two words: FUCK YOU!

  • Nes was good but a got the clone one for my b day I was pissd

  • The will is shit

  • i had the snes when i was a kid then upgraded to n64 in like 1998 LOL

later on i got the gamecube and now i just look back at the old snes and wonder why such a simple game system could become such a fun part of my childhood

  • I wish I could share memories about the NES but I grew up with the GameCube/GBA.

  • Got my Nes at a garage sale for 19 dollars with tons of games and two controllers and worked perfectly fine. That was the best 19 dollars I've ever spent at a garage sale ever

  • lol. just get a NES on amazon or something.

  • man i wish i was born in the 80's, atleast i had the n64

  • i loved the nintendo, and your right. games today dont have the same feel as it did. everytime i play my nintendo, it takes me back to when i was a lil boy. you you can feel it, and it is awesome. i had my special collection to, i liked kung fu, contra, all the marios for sure. and i dont know what it was about monster party but it freaked me out lol

  • @jjc19461 your a stupid noob gamer that deserves to die

  • @Dontpickmelast101 im telling my mom on you and go to hell and get raped by a gay african man with aids.

  • @jjc19461 racist much?

  • i rember how the first video game i played was the orginal legand of zelda the gold edition on the NES. Best times.

  • my dad has two or three nes's. we got two from our friend who doesnt have the wires or the controller. The other is my dads orignal which works. My friend also got my dad NES games. He found them in the garbage while he also found a N64 perficyly good with controllers and wires

  • i agree classic games kick butt even with all the glitches and wat not

  • The virtual console sucks. If you want the most authentic reproduction of the NES without actually having one, you should get an emulator for PC. It has all the exact same glitches, slow down, and sprite flickering that the original NES had. I personally hated having to blow into the cartridge and reinsert in the game again and again. If you want to learn how to install the emulator on your PC I have a step by step tutorial on my channel.

  • I love nes

  • My last comment was fake. I am a huge collector of vintage and modern games. I have 25 rare boxed nes games, 50 rare super nes games (I only collect classic, populare, or rare games). 120 nes games. I own a complete, mint, first edition magnavox odyssey 1972 and complete odyssey rifle. Every new generation console from n64-ps3 (And I meen every single one). Every nintendo handheld console. A genesis, a master system (I have 25 boxed games for each system).

  • i was born in 84 and buy 1990 i remember my unles teaching me to play rad racer and mario

  • I wish I could take my nes collection of 50 games (I got as donations from friends) and go back to the late 80s and see what it was like not to have grown up in an age of ps3 & xbox where these games strate up piss me off. I hade the same experience a you with the gameboy color :). Are these games actualy still fun to you today?

  • @SuperCommentDude Do you mean if old games are still fun to me today? Ya man, I wouldn't play them otherwise.

  • @SilverMongooseVideos i got mine wwhen i was 9.

the games i had were super mario bros.,duck hunt, super mario bros.2,super mario bros. 3,and way more.

  • @SuperCommentDude I still play Double Dragon II with some friends time to time :D

Old NES games are really fun.

  • i have to put up a video of my nes and broken controllers

  • I reve this console but I never play it because I reven´t games for it!

    :$

  • Awesome video! The "Nintenblow" made me laugh.

I love your "classic gaming never gets old". You should use it on your channel as a type of slogan.

  • Thanks.

I say it at the end of pretty much all of my videos so I actually do consider it my channel slogan.

  • I've made some videos on how to fix that blinking-red light.

  • yea but then someone stepped in it so gone =( but i steel love the nes the old grafx the fight with sega i loved it even on the arcades i got to play it so i was happy

  • Ya, common man. Only love on this channel.

  • First of all, no it doesn't. Second of all, you can buy NES, SNES, And N64 games on it.

  • I agree with this video completly! I still have my orig nes hooked up and recently bought a bunch more games for it! classic games never die just get alittle dusty!

  • I never really played a Nintendo so I don't have much memories about it. I have a super Nintendo version of Super Mario Bros. with better graphics and it can save the game. I can't beat any of the Zelda games for the Nintendo (I have it on Game Cube.) I like that golden cartridge. It's pronounced Ninja Guy-den not Gay den have you ever watched the Angry Video Game Nerd? Nintenblow XD. I blew into my Super Nintendo cartridges. I would actually prefer the Wii version.

  • Ya I know how it is pronounced. That's what I used to say until everyone else in NA started saying it incorrectly. Same with Ocarina. But old habits die hard my friend.

  • haha, when I first read Ocarina of time, I guess I was dysexlic (Joke) because I pronounced it Ocarnia for years.

  • the first game i ever had my hands on was the mario 3 when i was 4 2003

  • That's a good way to start my friend.

  • I know what you are talking about....

  • That was a very cool video man. You just said, what I was thinking all the time. It's sad to see "retro-gamers" today, who only download roms from the internet and who never experienced a game in that sense. There's more to a game than just the game. It's how you can't wait to get it, it's the package and the cartridge, it's the manual and your experience with this one particular game. Anyway, great video!!

  • i lost my old nes. its a shame, after watching this video i really want to play it

  • i remember waking up on my birthday in 1985 opening my nes i played that thing forever i still play it to this day i have never had many game i only had 2 mario and rad racer witch was fine for me

  • you hit the nail square on the head. This is seriously one of the greatest YouTube videos I've seen in a while.

  • Why thank you.

  • man i remember the sound of blowing in a cartridge . good times, good times.

  • I'll always consider myself blessed because I was born in 1993, yet I got to experience the NES like an 80's kid. I was either 4 or 5 when my dad showed me what a videogame was. The game was of course Super Mario Bros., and I spent hours playing it with my brother. I had no idea there was a system called the N64, so games like Mario, Donkey Kong, and Duck Hunt were the newest things as far as I was concerned. When we finally got an N64, my NES gaming slowed down, but I still play it to this day

  • Ya, I was pretty mixed up in that sense as well. I didn't get my SNES until after the N64. Its still fun all round though.

  • haha thats strange, i am basically the same, i was born in 1993 but i think it was for my 5th birthday i got a nintendo 64 , good times, i always played the older consoles though even though i had the N64. My brother would always play the NES,SNES and N64 :) was only a few years ago when i atually got given a NES for my birthday

  • I didn't my NES until last year. I have about 15 games, but hey, they're all classics. I have the triple pack, and not a lot of people seem to have it.

I remember around Christams time, I got a PS3 and 60 bucks. My brother was trying to get me a PS3 game and play old games on an emulator. But no, I got an SNES game, a Genesis game, and a bunch of NES games at a flea market.

The only real memories I have is with the PS1. I played Crash 2 so much, I know everything about that game.

  • Good on ya.

  • I remember using a cotton swab dipped in my dad's aftershave because of it's alcoholic content to clean my cartridges. Sure it made them work a little better, but it took some time to get used to all my games smelling like arctic rush.

  • Lol, that is certainly one of the more interesting memories I've heard.

  • The alcohol killed the bacteria in the cartridge.

  • Love the background music. Blaster Master is the best!

  • I had a Wii and I sold it just could not be bothered to play the damn thing. I bought a SNES and it's the most fun I've ever had in quite some time. I never bother to finish a game on an emulator it's just not fun for some reason. Yet I beat Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country for the first time ever owning the real deal. My 360 is also collecting dust why spend $70 on a new game I won't finish or will never play again when several SNES games give me a lot more joy?

  • My Console was the N64 though i was only 2 at launch, i grew into it. My brothers (4 and 8 years older than me) played them around me all the time, while I usually sucked at most games, while young I'd watch my bros. It was fun. Oddly enough blowing into cartridges also became my childhood experience as the N64 has that problem too. I love my N64 so much, my NGC is memoryless in comparison even though i played NGC more and was better at it. I still have my N64, but it only works every 10th time.

  • i under stant you 5 stars a i still want my nes back man memorias

  • i had to give away my super nintendo because my uncle told my mom that if i gave my snes to my cousin, he will give me a PS1 i wanted the N64 : ( , and after then i wouldn't have a nintendo console until 5 years after, i had the gameboy but that isn't the same. Now i have my SNES back and i bought all nintendo consoles slowly. i have the PS1 and PS2 too but that gaming cosoles don't have that classic apeal like the nintendo consoles do.

  • that remembers me my first console, the super nintendo, i remeber when i was 6 and someone gave my mon a super nintendo with 15 games, including super mario world, the n64 was already in the market and so was the PS2 a year after but i didn't care, i remember me playing super mario world, and i always was afraid of dieing xD, i never beated that game , but i have great memories and a special love of clasic games, i think that if i had a N64 and not a SNES i won't love old games so much.

  • i know exactly what you mean VC is just not the same. what you need is a 1986 nes...........

  • very nostalgic video, i love it

  • I remember waking up super early to run to the TV to start up the good ol' Genesis model 2 and pop in Sonic 2. Good times, it's a shame that games today have lost that retro charm.

  • I understand you my friend!

  • I can see a wii on the left hand side.

the game must be emulated to save time

  • Nopers. The only game played on the wii was river city ransom.

  • I started with an N64. I did not know how lucky I was when my dad got a free NES from a work friend. It only had three games with it but it was enough. I spent most of my time with Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt. Unfortunately my NES got destroyed when water from the storm drain backup into out basement. I still have all the games and controllers. I even found some other NES games in the house we moved into after our basement flooded for the 3rd time. I miss and It hope I can get a new one soon

  • the wii became the reason why im being a collector cuz there are more and more games that ive never witnessed when i was a little kid

  • This isn't GR, C-HOX. Good try, though, C-HOX.

  • ...what?

  • i remember the first time i ever played NES. i was 5 years old, saturday morning and a friend called at 7am and told me to come over his house to play a game that was a cartoon with a man name mario and you can jump on mushroom enemies. i had no idea of wat he was talking about but when i first saw super mario bros it was like a cartoon come to life. i sat on the floor watching my friend play for 6 hours until his mother made him let me have a turn. the first thing i did was die tothefirstgoomba
