A friend of mine had a blue '76 wagon, the last time I saw it, it had over 250k miles on it. Those were actually very good cars, and if the oil was changed regularly and the car maintained, the engine just seemed to go forever.

yeah, last year of the pinto. As long as you checked the oil often, they lasted ok. If you didnt' you could ruin the engine in a short time. It was common for them to use a quart of oil in a 1000 miles.

I agree. Id have gladly taken that car. Id be cruising around in it. Looks like it even had AC. My 3 pintos dont have AC and i paid more than 350 for all of them except one and it was a freebie.
