I have a question. I want to do this with my new adidas predators, but will they shrink? I already have to use two pair of sicks since it's winter and cold outside (Norway).. thanks :)
nice vid,1 question, after i soak my syhtnetic boots in warm water, how do I dry them?use a hair dryer?my hair dryer has a cool wind function,so do i have to use it if i do use the dryer to dry it?
OR just wear it when the boots are wet and sit down and watch tv?with soccer socks or not?
@version147 after you soak them wear them with ur soccer socks on for like 2 hours watching tv. afterwards stuff it with newspaper over night. and then they should be mostly dry by the next morning but take the newspaper out and let them dry out as is.
@Wylder96 for my vapor 6's I didnt do anything. Just ran aroudn in them. BUT if I were to say anything walk and do lunges inside around the house to help get that flex in the glass fiber soleplate. and for the upper, soak them in neutral temp water.(not cold/not hot) soak them for 2-4min NO LONGER and be careful about the temp or theyll shrink and wont ever mold to ur foot. but as i was saying soak them then tie them up tight on ur feet and wear them for 2-3hrs.
@barcafan42 i did it on my superfly 2's and it worked a treat... just ONLY SOAK FOR 3-4 minutes in look warm water... if its hot theyll shrink too small for your foot. so be very careful. 4minutes then straight on your feet. room temp water!
@mikedasoccer i guess, if its a oil specifically designed for use on leather. I didnt wear them in the shower... i just put them in the bathtub to soak for 30min(room temp water) and then i took them out... shook em out... then laced them up, insole and all. wore them for 1-2hours being lazy watched tv.... and then took them off and left them in a room temp place to dry.
players play in boots in wet conditions all the time, and that dosn't destroy the leather. if k leather was easily destroyed by water, they wouldn't use the material. also, they treat the leather in a variety of ways before finishing the boot.
i have done this process myself on legend 2s. i bought them a half size small, wore them in the shower, then let them dry on my feet. applied food leather after they dried. they are totally fine 6 months later.
dude soaking leather in water ruins it. That makes it stiff and crack. you break in boots by playing in them not. But you can waste 200 bucks to ruin a good pair of cleats if you want im not stopping you. Just a heads up to everybody who sees this video.
@blackstalion48 thats what the Leather food is for, as long as u dont let the leather dry completly the leather food keeps it hydrated. You only have to do it once every few months it acts as a polish also. I used it on my preds and they have lasted so far a year of continuous use, and are gonna be my go to boot for this season, the only bad things right now, green stitchings faded, and theyre a dirty white from use(expected), a few scuffs and a lil wear and tear on the tip toe area... ------V
@BlackMercurialVapor ----(continued) but thats happened on my brothers preds as well and he didn't do this breaking in process. So basically I'm saying don't do this if u don't have leather food. Because as blackstalion48 said just soaking them ruins the leather. But even if you dont use this technique. I recommend getting leather food because it keeps the leather hydrated its good to have especially if u play in rainy conditions. and your boots dry up it prevents them from cracking.
you gotta buy a smaller size or superlights its the only way. i had the orange peels in 10.5 and the tore the shite out of my heel. when the red MV's came out i bought those in 10's and also got the superlight version...best boots i've ever had. never ever had a blister

Does this also work for synthetic cleats, such as nike vapors?

@BlackMercurialVapor Do you prefer that way instead of having them on your feet already and wearing them in the water?
barcafan42 7 months ago
@barcafan42 i just feel it soaks faster than if you have them on your feet.
