  • i found a way to masterbate to this

  • @UFGKOTI How ? imagine your mother ?

  • @UFGKOTI although the actors are all males...

  • Really unique culture here:-)

  • Hello it's possible to become this song, withwout the Speekers voice? ó.ò

  • @AmintaDax

The singer is with the musicians

  • @CCTV9

I don't mean the singer. I mean the speaker, wich explans the text in english.

  • that's incorrect, Oiran or courtesans during the edo era tied thier obi at the front as a symbol of thier maturity. Married women during that era also tied thier obi at the front, it wasn't because it was easier to remove. In fact it was taboo for the oiran to remove her kimono during intimacy.

  • how sad is a courtesans life..never been alowed give all her love to the one man she truly loves and desires. trapped by her position in society. :(

  • mister Tamasaburo is not the incarnation of a woman alone he is the incarnation of perfection. every move from his feet to his finger tips eye and eyelid lips shoulders waist everything is absolutely perfect and flawless/ this man is an alien in the world of dance. such maestry is so hard to achieve he entirely not only dedicated but gave his life to kabuki . this is so sad and beautiful at once. which stage artist can pretend to such honesty in its art today ... ookini tama'chan

  • e swan as we call Mr/Mrs Tamasaburo in japan is pure magic. he is an actual national and world treasure. it is hard to beleive anyone could ever dance better. he is not a man not a woman he is the perfect incaration of any character he impersonates. and like the swan no matter how fast his feet are moving underwater all we can see is him sliding silently and so it seems effortlessly on the water.

  • A woman's life is love and tears------regardless of time and epoch.

  • not much of a dance

  • I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER KIMONO ITS SO BEAUTIFUL !

and i love traditional japanese dance and song its just amazing

  • Beautiful. Why is the obi tied at the front?

  • @diamantisa there are some places in japan that don't but there too are some who tie it at the front for easy access especially if no one could assist you as you dress up.

    :)

  • @diamantisa because its easier to remove. Prostitutes and Courtesans tied their obi's in the front. Geisha's and Maiko's tied theirs in the back because it wasn't their body's they were selling, they weren't whores

  • @ArisolSpray You have a good point, but your grammar hurts my eyes.

  • @mokkshaa Thanks, I'm fairly certain I wrote that response around 4 am! I'm happy that others could understand it. lol

  • @diamantisa she's a courteasen.

  • @diamantisa yeah, but that was made more for the prostitutes, why is a Geisha using a obi tied on front?

    that's what I don't know

  • Beautiful. Why is the obi tied at the front?

  • i fijnd this hard to masterbait to

  • Is there anyway I can get the rest of this play? I find it very fascinating.

  • @Scornthene tiffenakou has this dance and others.

  • @slythoughts Thanks

  • im dong a projet need help on japanese dancing

  • Im writing a research paper on kabuki for my theatre class, and that led me to this video. This is so cool.

  • I guess if I was from the Liberal Elite - or San Francisco - I'd find this interesting, but as it stands, I can't give a good God damned about this shizel.

  • @mikeeG77 from the way i read it i think that is a little insensitive but i couldnt blame you. oh and if some smart japanese mentor comes by and reads your comment he would most likely say that you trapped yourself through your own words.

  • @migencluz Well I guess everyone is entitled to an opinion - but - I was a little curious as to what our Glorious Leader - Obama - was referring to when he likened politics to a Kabuki dance. I can just see him now performing that dance and chuckling!

  • If this is kabuki...that would mean that this is a guy dancing, right?

  • @DarkValkyrie0512 yes thats right all kabuki are men he is probly still a teenager aswell since he's play a female role

  • @pixxiesarebetter Still, a very graceful dance. I would've tripped if I did this.

  • @pixxiesarebetter I did a research paper on Kabuki in high school, but it seems I still have a lot to learn.

  • shut up please!!! let me watch!!

  • this is great but god that fag's voice

  • it good i like Kabuki

  • very nice

  • WOw...absolutely amazing...The slightly broader ratio of his shoulders gave his gender away, but oh my god...this is stunningly beautiful!

  • in my school were practicing the kabuki dance in strings class

  • Extremely beautiful. I had to cry.

  • Incredibly moving!!!

  • Im growing very tired of this annoying mans voice. I would liketo watch this without his voice shattering the grace.

  • Very pretty and graceful.

    So that's a guy? o.o

  • BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what is this play called?

  • SHE is actually a HE. Male actors play female roles.

  • @CompanionCubie JAJAJAJ lol

  • "She" isn't ugly....besides, 'she' is a "he". Males play the female rols in Kabuki.

  • Hola soy chileno quisiera saber ¿ donde sacas estos videos ?

    es facinante el teatro oriental

  • wait, is it even a woman?

  • she is ugly but i loved it im doing the kabuki dance on the violin in my class

  • @mixingmycolor

You think she's ugly?? Everyone's entitled to their opinion, sure, but I'm just amused at how much I disagree... :)

  • geishas were not prosiitutes

  • @DevonNalta well they didn't start out that way

  • @missmalosuerte they never were Arther golden lied in his book the woman who he based his book on wrote her own and publicly admited he twisted her words

and cortasians are the prostiutes there the ones with the long wooden pieces in there hair and there kimonos tie in the front

  • I don't understand anything but last month i did a research in Japanese culture and i think Kabuki is kinda interesting. Do you guys know where can i get subtitle for Kabuki 'cuz I really want to find out about it.

  • thank you

  • i'd date him ^__^

    so gracefull

  • by the way, all kabuki performers are men, even female roles.

  • what a pity. the narrating voice destroys the wonderful atmosphere. why didn't they use subtitles?

  • @HerrNass You're soooo right !! fuck this narration.

  • No offense, but i hate it when they have some english person narrating. It feels like a clash of culture. Just put it in Japanese and have subtitles

  • The off voice destroys the video! The magic of Kabuki is the suggestion and everyone have to find all explanations by himself.

  • The day I have intercourse with a kabuki girl, is the day my sexual exploits will finally be complete.

  • @KannabisKraut You DO know there are NO females in Kabuki Theater right?

  • @zephusdragon no shit retard, why is that a problem? too danm bad.

  • @xxzerawriotxx First off I wasn't talking to you I was talking to mister "Have sex with Kabuki GIRL". Second I have no problem with the way that Kabuki is performed, it IS an art style after all, and a very unique one at that. So please, don't jump down my throat without looking at the whole post...

  • @xxzerawriotxx he was responding to the guy who said "I want to fuck a kabuki girl" then he said "but there are no girls in kabuki, even female roles are performed by males" then the pervert who made the first comment ran away in shame and you were all like "I'm butting into an argument I have no knowledge about and throw around accusations becasue I can!"

  • @KannabisKraut So you like young bishounen pooper?

  • @KannabisKraut hahahahahahaaaa so there actually are people who think kabuki performers are girls :D a great compliment to the actors :D

  • Gotta say, Japanese music have significally improved over the years. :)

  • Wow... what a hot chick.

  • @KarySanger All Kabuki actors are men... Tamasaboro is a male actor who portrays women in Kabuki.

  • @MoonBunnyStudios

    No shit sherlock.

  • @KarySanger Then why the hell did you say "What a hot chick?" I assumed you didn't know they weren't men... -_-

    Whatever...

  • @MoonBunnyStudios the more you know. i didn't know kabuki dancers were a particular sex

  • whos singing?

  • @thepaesesai You sure it's a chick. Japanese have bad habit to crossdress in these shows. ;)

  • @Bastiest well they have to.females never perform in these performances {rarely maybe}its a tradition. He looks like a girl seriously.but the story its portraying is written by a female i think.

  • @thepaesesai Hmm? Heh, looks like I replied on wrong post.

Silly me or just youtube's being plain retarded.

  • @Bastiest youtube IS retarded when it comes to comments and administration

  • Tamasaburo is wonderful. I saw him opening night, National Kabuki, at the MET Opera House. Marvelous!

  • Can I find these Kabuki plays without the narrator?

    Thanks for these wonderful videos!

  • Nice and elegant!

  • he's so pretty. he looks exactly like he fell out of an old Japanese paint. <3

  • @alixinthemiddle **painting

  • Its like the secret of human life revealing itself in an incomprehensible way of a slowly falling leaf.

  • BEAUTIFUL and thanks really because there is explanation in english

  • I NEVER KNEW education could be SO VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!! WOW

  • it is a man and his name is tamasaburo bando, (very tallented) as for the narration i dont see how it spoils the mood. be thankfull some persons passion can give you a glimpse of something you wouldnt have a clue about,,,2 more scale fell, then 10 took more there place................pitiful!

  • The talking is good for people like me, who does not know the culture of Japanese and what the dancer is interpreting. But the talking is distracting for people who already understand the Japanese culture and arts. Right ??

  • Please stop this narration.....it's quite beautiful without all the talking.

  • Thank you for your explanation in English language. I like Japanese kimono and head pins. This lady does not have the dangling jewellery in in the headset. The bow is in the front ? Usually it is at the back.

  • @udon890 Don't be too sure that is a lady though. Traditionally men play all the parts in Kabuki.

  • she is a kind of prostitute, only people of repute where the obi tied n the back,

  • Also, the song is taking part in the pleasure district. The reason why the obi is in the front is because, when a customer came it was easier to undo and redo the obi if it was tied in front.

  • @ArisolSpray its been also said that it is represent a married woman "as this was the style of married women to wear" if you see woodblock print, the obi is rarely removed. so the obi means, she is his wife for the night. Liza Dalby had this written somewhere.

  • wow this dance is really awesome to bad the narrator is annoying

  • its better if there's no narrator.. he ruined the mood :(

  • Very nice story line. The dancer's moves were very precise.

  • A shame this guy has to talk so much.

  • personally, I found the commentary interesting and added to the flavour of it. Though i do agree it does detract from the performance itself.

  • @Jourell1 Would have prepared subtitles/captions.

Certainly speaking over the music in a Kabuki seems to defeat the whole point.

  • True, I would have preferred that myself

  • Beautiful :)

  • that's kind of hoochie.

  • Well, it was geishas' job, to be a living art. This man is just beautiful and awesome work of art.

  • @dopicesdratem

Geisha has nothing to do with kabuki except they are both a form of eintertaintment.

This potray a courtesan not geisha!!

  • where can i download this viedo?...

  • wow!when his face show, i thought,"so beautiful!like beauty in the paintings!"he himself is art i think!

  • that is beautiful.

  • ah ha ha ha ha! I love how she suddenly grabs her chest! There's something really funny about that guy's calm voice using dramatic words to describe a controlled performance.

  • you have to admit that kabuki is good

  • Such a brilliant comment in a thread about a video of pure beauty and art.

  • He's so beautiful. His performance chills me. This is a true art form, and I am grateful it has survived so long.

  • wonderful... It is hard to believe a man is playing this part. Japan has some wonderful music and treasures.

  • It's like a picture of Ukiyoe is moving...

  • ... boring? its ... AMAZING, MAGIC

  • If you don't like it, don't watch it =P

  • QUÉ LO PARIÓ

  • hes so graceful like a flower breath taking wow

  • His movements are so delicately precise, I can see why this man is such a celebrated onnagata. When was this filmed? Tamasaburo must be over fifty by now.

  • sheis very amazing becuase look laike a porcelain doll

  • It is actually a male. In kabuki theatre, all parts are played by males, even female roles, as seen here.

  • Ah, but this isn't necessary today. Onnakabuki was the original kabuki: the first kabuki troupe was probably all female (founded by Okuni of Izumo, who may have been a miko of about 400 years ago). She gathered up riffraff and various prostitutes in Kyoto and started dancing in the local riverbed. It proved sexier than noh and this led to bowdlerization. Unfortunately.

  • I know they were orriginally all or mostly females, and then became male only. But I was under the impression that at this point in time it was still all male.

  • Somebody know the name of music instruments in kabuki theatre? Please, let me to know

  • shamisen, and drums.

  • i love how he can revolve so perfectly!!!!!

  • wowwies..kewl~~ shes gracefull as a swan...

  • Just like a picture of Ukiyoe...

  • wow

i was asked to look at kabuki for my drama homework, but it really is amazing!

  • the posture is so beatiful. She is so gracefull. Thanks for this video.

  • Such a sensual dance...amazing. The use of minimal gestures is what I love, together with the music.

  • I absolutely love tamasaburo!

  • the amount of training they go through to do this performance art... its beautiful and mesmerising :)

  • commentator is sooo annoying..... i LOVE THE DANCE tho... :D

  • Maybe a bit annoying because it gets in the music's way, but he does help, dances without comment renders you a bit lost, at least that is my opinion.

  • Kooool!!!

  • take that horrible voice in the background down

  • this is so beautiful and sad.

  • people have to look back in time there is a lot of cool things that this time doesn't have

  • beautiful dance and music<3

  • I am dancer & for me this defines the beauty of gesture.
