THE RELEASE MECHANISM!!!!!!!! OMG! That would be so scary. It could have hit you in the head, or those guys could have fallen out! hopefully they didnt let anyone back on the ride after.
Uk fairs safety record is pretty good to be honest but the biggest problem they currently have is the storage facility in the trucks for their rides. Over time being left inside the lorry trailers with plastic covers can leads to a buildup of moisture and due and this causes metal fatigue over time which can soemtimes go undetected. Metal fatigue is not easy to really detect without beign xrayed in the way that airplanes are. THe uk fairs safety record has always been good in the south west
we do our safety checks but not everything can be perfect but you wouldn't know that would ya because the technicality of this stuff isn't as easy as it looks
fuck thats so dangerouse i was thinking about going on 1 of those glad i hadnt now it could have fucking killed me !!! fucking retatrded karnies!!!! this just shows they dont give a fuck when it comes to inspection
@sweeter1900 WHO U CALLING A CARNIE????? WHERE SHOWMEN! GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.....WHEN HAVE U EVERY SEEN ANYONE THAT WORKS AT A FAIR DRUNK DURING OPENING HOURS???? U DONT TRUST FAIRGROUNDS BECAUSE WE'RE TRAVELLERS AND YOUR RACIST!!!!! BET YOUVE NEVER EVEN SPOKEN TO A TRAVELLER.....SO HOW CAN U JUDGE????
oh look a flying puppy!!! OMG THAT IS NOT A PUPPY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
although wud agree about this ride in particular (wud never go on it, 2 bungee cords to keep you safe dont think so) I wud disagree about not going on other fair ground rides as they have to be tested more often than theme park rides and as they mostly family run businesses so they take more pride and care in what they do and lets face it if they werent safe they wouldnt be allowed back year after year
My mate and I were queuing up to go on this ride at creamfields festival. When the cage launched up in the air, the big metal hook that normally holds the cage against the stage was ripped out of the floor with it and flew up into the air. It then landed right in front of us, smashing through the metal plating on the floor in front of the steps! It was a block of concrete on one end, and punched a hole right through that steel plate. imagine if it hit us!
travelling fairs are scary. i never go on them cus they're just temporary setups. they're not like amusement park rides where the rides are permanently grounded and stable.
@hawj89 yeah, but the travelling fairs are tested everyday before opening and amusement park rides are tested once a week or something... your far more likely to get knocked down by a car than to get involved in an amusement park accident
Fairground rides are sometimes manned by young teenagers. There is one that comes to the level in brighton u.k. every year. There is a ride manned by a 15 year old. This is becuase a family owns it.
Young teenagers ?, You have to be 18 to mind a machine and 16 to mind a bouncy castle, All machines pass an annual A.D.I.P.S inspection for each discipline of the anesthetics which make up the machine, Plus they hold P.L.I for at least 10million.
Recent research done by the hse as uncovered that your more likely to be injuried on the way to a fairground than you are while you are visit a fairground, i.e your more likely to be hit and killed by a bus than you are a fairground ride while visiting one.
We use hammers on machines to knock pins out during the build up and pull down phase, its not just a push of a button and presto its complete, theirs hours of manual labour and skilled knowledge to sucessfully complete the given tasks.
i love rides i go on any ride exept a ride at a moving fairground if its at a proper permanent theme park i go on it if at fairground no but i do go on dogems etc at fairground but there pretty much safe at fairgrounds tho but i dont go on rides a fairground tho just stick to theme parks lol
travelling funfairs are more safer than theme parks, due to the fact as the rides are dismantled we can take alook for wear and tear on certain components and replace and get tested if appropriate, Sometimes you cannot sucessfully check a ride for certain things while its build up or permanently up.
So can driving to the grocery store. Or walking outside to get the mail. Even mowing your lawn. All those things have a better chance of killing you than getting killed at a fair or amusement park.
if you don't know, all traveling funfair rides have 10million pound public liability ensurence so that if they do go wrong they can pay compensation, also every ride is checked when being built up and tested before opening
@funfairjonny yeah but try getting the compensation if you die. My mother died in a surgical blunder last month and I have been told there is no way to sue because she was no monetary value to me!
@DaleHerringTV test includes adips, public liability, structural, electrical and design review. More people are killed walking on 'safe pavements' than funfairs. It takes 7 years of education to becoming a adips tester, i have a funhouse and ghost train ride and i have had them for 20 years without a problem, but until you have a ride or any sort of proof don't about the testers don't go whining about something you don't know.
@boyci4 just because you own 2 rides doesn't mean you know how a majority of mobile fairs work. If I owned a restaurant that got inspected for health hazards monthly does that mean other restaurants do as well and are just as safe? No, it doesn't.
@DaleHerringTV I take your point into consideration, but i can assure you the majority of rides (99.9%) are safe and tested. The above video, I'm afraid, is the exception that proves the rule. Even though a mistake occurred I'm sure it was safely controlled, Not a danger to anyone and handled by a skilled team of people.
1:13 thats gonna cost a thing or two to replace but that dosent mean all fair rides arent safe e.g.dogems or but still the damage the did to the chequer plate that could have killed someone if it landed on them
wow that was freaky. you could see the thing fall from the sky right infront of you in the first 3 seconds. if that was me on the ride or off it like where u were, iwould never ride a carnival ride again!
i agree but it was a mixture of wind and load speakers, as this can create a similar sound. tis worrying as i went on that exact same ride in august and saw this video after. :S
