@AlainNaigeon she teaches group or private lessons in Baltimore. It is in her web page. I was going to be nearby and wrote to her to see if a lesson was possible. She responded and we agree on a two hour lesson and I travelled to Baltimore just for that. She was insightful, kind and sensitive. Watching her play closely even small parts of a piece during the lesson was quite an experience. She is very bright and very kind with high sensitivity and maturity to be that young

I have only been to 4 continents, lived in Senegal, Tanzania, Kenya, Guadeloupe and the Cayman Islands. Lived and worked in 7 U.S. States. Hmm, not to flame you Johannes but according to history you can't be more wrong. The real question is WHY women are so rarely interested anymore in instruments and playing. From the days of Egypt through the dark ages and minstrels (few actually being men) women have not only dotted the landscape of music but seem to have made up the majority of its color and given it life. Lets face it, music without emotion is dead and thus said the women is far more equipped for music of all sorts then men.

well when you perform in public, you don't wanna take any chances even if when you practice you can play it eyes closed. plus, having your eyes on the frets helps concentrate and not beeing disturbed by the audiance

Yeah...plus, what the fuck else are your eyes going to do? When I practice, I never look at my fretting hand. But when I perform live I do. It makes you look more busy and more "in tune" with your instrument. When you play and stare off into space you look unenthused and unprofessional.

I'll say that you'll look more professional by looking at your crowd, and "play" with them, if you know what I mean. But, it really then depends on the music you're playing. Classic vs Prog. Rock/metal by an example.

People usually concentrate in the performers, not in the composition or in the composers in these videos. Obviously, Ana Vidovic plays very well and each time better - but I would like to remember how good is Ponce in guitar's compositions. He really got the possibilities of the instrument, he understood the possible languages very well on it. I don't know if Ponce played the guitar, probably yes.
