My natural lashes are pretty long and thick and they curl well on their own. (By the way, guys naturally have better -longer, thicker, and luscious lashes than women because of they're genes. DNA gave us the short end of the stick) so I am blessed that way. I love the Falsies and Falsies Flared mascaras although I have found I get better results with both if I start with either Maybelline One by One or an Ulta tube I picked up at some point, then going for the Falsies on top.

This mascara actually really worked for me and I did get the flare. I think it is because I only do one coat and i hold the brush straight and let it do all my lashes at once.

Well...I have very thick, long lashes..and it didn't do much for me. It seemed to get very dry and a bit flaked off. It clumped and it is very hard to "point" your lashes is the direction you want.

I really like this mascara, I think it just depends on your lash type. I have very long lashes, but they're not very dark at all and their thin not thick, so this works great for me, I love maybelline as a company I've never gotten a ad product there.

My husband and I both have long eyelashes and so do our kids ;) You are right about it being all about preference because this mascara does wonders for me. Since I already have long lashes what it does it makes them more darker and look thicker to look like false eyelashes but that's on me I know my mom tried it and nope it didn't do anything for her tiny little hairs LOL

My all time favorite mascaras is "Max factor 2000 calorie Dramatic look" and "Maybeline Stiletto", they both give really good length and volume! (: The brushes in these mascaras are really good to seperate the lashes too!

for the regular falsies, i was ALWAYS getting asked if i was wearing fake lashes. however, i wore a lot a lottt of mascara. at the time.

a few things i do that helps my lashes is:

At night I apply vasaline to them and it really thickens my lashes and ive seen succh an increase in growth.

Also,

I will brush out my lashes using the comb part of an eyebrow brush. then curl them, comb them, apply one thin coat of mascara, comb and then apply more mascara!

I feel your pain Emily! I am one of the natural curl impaired people, my eyelashes point downward and it really sucks. I have been using the tarte eyelash curler and it makes my eyelashes look more curly :). Love you videos, keep em coming!

I have short eyelashes but theirs like 2 layers of eyelashes their so weird. I dont know why but it seems like mascara clumps easily on my eyelashes. I love the one by one mascara the brush can comb out any clumps if i have them.

I'm currently using Maybelline One by One (which I LOVE), but I think I'll try this one next, my eyelashes have a kind of natural curl, so I think this could work.

Hi Emily, it's so nice to hear someone talk about eyelash type! Mine are like yours and I have total jealousy for my sister who has lovely long eyelashes and never needs to use mascara, while I'm a bit of a mascara addict. I keep looking for the perfect one, and love Maybelline, but I really didn't like Falsies, I just find it clumpy and bobbly even after just one coat. I buy Maybelline Colossal and it's the best one I've found and the brush doesn't get clogged! Love your videos. Em x

Umm at 3:58... All you do is switch hands. I mean as long as you have 2 hands it's pretty easy to figure it out. I'm not sure if you're talking to Bethany Hamilton though...

Men generally have longer lashes because back in the day that we were nomadic hunter/gatherers, men would often be the ones doing rigorous activities and moving through the forests. Their eyelashes grew longer and denser so that debris didn't fall into their eyes.

Ahhhh! Now I understand why you wear false lashes so often. I guess I never realized I was "well endowed" in that area until I had my makeup done on my 22nd birthday. lol The makeup artist was so jealous and SHOCKED that I never really wore makeup. Now I wear mascara like every day!

I so agree with what you said about mascara reviews... I have straight lashes that curl well, but so many mascaras ruin that curl and they go straight again. but the falsies (original) completely kept my curl! :)

I think that if you want your lashes to flare, you can do it with any mascara, just put more on the ends than on the rest of your lashes and build it up at the end more...that's all to it really lol

BUT it also helps to have longer lashes at the end....as my lashes are similar to Emily's in that they start off from the inner corner of my eye to be rather short, and they naturally are longer on the ends

And people already ask me if my eyelashes are real and with this mascara they do make them look like false lashes. i gotta tell yah i've tried MANY mascaras too lol and even tho i dont use it every day everytime i use the loreal telescopic explosion mascara ppl ACTUALLY asked me if i was wearing false eyelashes when iwasnt so i think that one really does work but i dont use it as my every day mascara because the applicator is that little ball so it take a lil more time to apply so its not quick and convenient but if you havent tried it check it out!

I didnt think this mascara gave the "flared" look either when II first bought it. However, the more I have used it the better it has gotten. I find that a lot of my mascaras work better after I have used them for a while. I do have a question though! I know you really like the Loreal carbon black mascara....did you find yours to be really wet when you first started using it? Im wondering if I got a bad batch because its SO wet!
