dude my friend told me she left katrina & NO when it was closing in but she couldn't take her CAT with her. so poe (the cat) had to stay with the storm ontop of the fridge or roof (idk) and he somehow survived o_O
I amazed at the footage of Japan , but how orderly the people were, thats right there not black , they took there destiny in the hands.. didnt wait for the governmrnt.. we are a third world nation!!!
latina, I can't speak for what happened elsewhere but I can tell you that before the storm, I lived in the neighborhood shown in this video. At the time of Katrina, it was overwhelmingly white. I think that and the fact that this is shot the day after Katrina hit is the main reason for what you see.
I swear I wish this whole "racial" issue wasn't true, but if u notice in this video... about 95% of the people getting rescued and bussed away were white... in total I counted 2 black getting on the bus...
We are all humans.. no matter what race, religion or creed...
Really? So the video is Racial now? I was filming on the west side of NOLA at the Kenner and NOLA boarder just down the canal from the 1t7th street that failed. The people that I filmed were those who were living near the levee failure point. You don't get it, EVERYONE lost EVERYTHING. And if this video is racial, what about all the people in Mississippi that were all but forgotten about in the wake of Katrina hitting NOLA?
I never said this video is racial... what I said is that this video seems to show the proof of "racial" preference... I understand there were hundreds if not thousands of white americans that lost everything.. I am not disputing that... I'm saying this video is unbiased... and shows that the white americans were led out first... which I'm glad they were led out.. but the oppourtinity should've been there for the blacks as well... Because we know there were ppl choosing who to take..
@bnvn1 I know i'm a bit late, but Biloxi, Waveland, Gulfport, all were completely destroyed. Wiped away. New Orleans had it bad, yes. But don't downplay what happened on our coast.
I'm a journalist, I don't get in the middle of the story to make the story, I am just their to document the truth. And the truth is on camera how people felt before it became a political issue.
@bnvn1 at least ppl here were let take there pets it took thousands of caring ppl to reunite owners and pets i know it was not about animals but its better than seeing them been torn apart which i know happened all over it was all very sad so is New Orleans getting back to normal yet or is it still a ghost town bnvn1 i do think you are right we need ppl there to document this sort of thing well done i see u were out for days
I agree...if these news people can film these people in desperete need, why cant they give them food or water or took them to some type of safety...its common sense?
This is horrible. I'm getting the fucking Weather Papparazi shut down. I have Katrina evacuees who are fucking mad. The Weather Papparazi records videos of disaster, and exploits them for a fucking profit. "Watch Hurricane Katrina Uncensored! Hardcore for just $19.99! If you dont want to pay, we show you a video with a huge ass watermark! Wow! What a price!"
and how much did Fox News, CNN and the rest of the networks make off of ad sales? Spike Lee banked off this story. Your just like all the other liberal left wing nut jobs bitching because I filmed the truth. FEMA was there. Oh and the watermark, that is so piece of... like you can't rip it off. How much music is on your computer that is pirated?
All people do is bitch about the response...not a word of gratitude to the many people who did all they could to help..yes it could have been better but whats wrong with appreciating the heroes who did help?

can't you take that enormous logo out of the
center of the screen? it's distracting
and ruins the images.
vanitycola 3 years ago
No because people will rip it off and use it without obtaining a license for the footage.

They're trying to portray this as "organized", but that's hardly what New Orleans was like after Hurricane Katrina.
Mindraker1 4 years ago
it was organized for what they could do. Only one way in or out by land.

So many people and animals suffered. Dark Waters Rising a film about the animals that were left behind to fend for themselves. Very tragic!
