How to Sharpen a Push Reel Mower: Scotts Classic

The sharpening kit I got was this "sharpening compound"-black sandy goop you "paint" onto the blades. Then you turn the blade backwards. Is this just as good as the method in the video ?

reverse the pawls and pinion gears and push it backwards for a couple blocks! careful not to backlap too much .. you'll over sharpen it and it'll go dull sooner ..

Don't forget to tighten the blades after you're done sharpening - otherwise, the mower wont cut, no matter how sharp it is.

I wish I could use those sharpening kits for my razor as well...I'd have to spend less money of razor blades. ha!

In all seriousness, it's a great kit for sharpening your scotts classic. Spicy!

If you dry your razor every time you use it by shaking it off and using a tissue or blowing it dry using a hairdryer the blade will last ten times as long.
