Those are junk too. The best is the Volvo cab with the Wittke body, residential front loaders. My truck is 10 years old and still hammers through out the day!
Not in my opinion. The Condor has more room and is more durable. Like I said above, the Volvo/Autocar trucks fall apart very fast, they may be reliable like the Condor but you are stuck in a cramped cab that within months will look very old. Thai is my opinion though.
All of our garbage trucks are on Condor chassis' where I'm at, and our old MSL's and our current recycle trucks were/are on WXLL chassis'...from talking to the drivers, I've heard that the Condor is a far better cab...it's easier to maintain, more spacious, and easier to adjust for different drivers...The Condor's also seem to require less repairs/maintenance...Great video, by the way...5 stars and favorites!
Yes there is ALOT more room in a Condor. They have A/C too so that's a plus. All the Condors we've got, not one of them hasn't been in the shop for turbos and head gaskets. The only thing that has ever downed my truck was an SR1 valve. So, at least at my shop, not many are happy with the Condor and love their old volvo/white/gmc's. Not trying to start a fight brother believe me. It's just fun talking to other people who work at the same company and do the dirty work.
It actually looks REALLY nice on the WXLL chassis! What was the reason for this guy coming? Did the Python break down? Hope you are lucky enough to get more! Has the Rapid Rail ever come to your place before or is this the first time?
Actually the normal driver was on vacation so the driver for that week brought this truck. This is the first time this particular Rapid Rail has come to my house because this was the first and only time I have ever seen it. Other Rapid Rail's have come in the past but they were on a WX chassis. I hope to see this truck sometime in the future because it is one of my favorites.
Lovin the truck, looks like its been through a lot too! The engine sounds kinda stressed, and the body seems kinda small, and overall its a cool truck! Great video
Actually I have found it is easier for them to turn around with the trash cans where they are. Plus the truck won't hit my Dad's van with them where they are.
No, I think the normal driver is on vacation so this guy came. I saw him in the other truck with the normal driver last week so I figured the normal driver is going away for a while. I don't think this truck will be back next week though..

WM used to use 3 Rapid Rails in our town before they sold to All Waste Inc. in 2007.

i drive an autocar/volvo, they aren't very good trucks.

They seem to fall apart quicker than other trucks. The Freightliner Condor is better I think.
