"And so the doctor asked him a few questions, not many, and then one of the questions he asked was... have you ever used any performance-enhancing drugs? And Lance said yes. And the doctor asked, what were they? And Lance said, growth hormone, cortisone, EPO, steroids and testosterone. "

Socialized medicine is a crazy idea, Why raise the taxes on the richest portion of the American population 3% to give the entire country free healthcare. Sounds pretty crazy to me. These people earned their money, and earned so much of it that statistically if you took 3% to fund free healthcare it would cause no hardship to maintain their current style of living. Socialized medicine is stupid, everybody helping everybody and sharing what you don't need for a better world. Don't be silly.
Government guaranteed healthcare for all its citizens is as important as protection of the state and the individual. Free education for all children leads to greater prosperity for that nation. The same applies to health. In the UK we have had since 1946 a national health system providing healthcare from cradle to grave. Thus anyone can get free medical treatment/advice etc. regardless of wealth. The service isn't perfect, but all UK political parties and most Britons support the NHS
Hey Mortarsprayer- You are a total moron!!!!! People on here are talking about fighting cancer and trying to stay alive. Then some moron like you comes along. You wait until cancer enters your life- then we will see how you feel about Lance's efforts. Jackass!
Cancer hasn't missed us but that is not the point. Now Lance has moved from being a promoter of fighting cancer to a pawn. His support of measure 50 in our state could have long lasting negative effects on us. He is promoting changing our constitution to take money from one group of people and send it to another. That is WRONG. Lance has lost credibillity. Now when I see his name associated with a cause, I will no longer give my support. You loose.
People are dying from cancer at this moment, and all you can say is money is affecting you? Your friends, family and possibly your self could be at risk of catching this disease. What if you had a unknown cancer and the doctors were unable to treat it. And your health insurance wouldn't cover it because you missed a fine print. What would you rather have? Taxes that are going to NASA/Government etc. or to a cancer foundation. Where lives will be saved.

Thank you Mortarsprayer.
You have said what I have thought for some time. Lance diminished his ability to help our cause when he started endorsing things that he doesn't fully understand. I wish he would get back to his roots.
What next? Will he come to California demanding we pay for cancer treatment for illegals? He has gotten way too broad in his quest.

When Lance Armstrong started campaigning for socialized medicine and raising taxes (Measure 50) in Oregon, he crossed the wrong line.
For that I say SCREW Lance Armstrong. Stay out of Oregon and our politics!
