  • @dustin2112112 Yeah, that snare is KILLING.

  • @dustin2112112 I liked the old Ludwig's as well, but just about any set, including intermediate sets, would sound great with the right sound guy, drum tech, and a giant arena! It's the "unplugged" sound that really defines a great drum, no mics, no reverb, and the right room too. Wait, there are too many variables. One more thing, most musicians will use other products (besides the sponsor) in the studio so one may never know what was actually used in recording the album. Thanks for the video!

  • @dustin2112112 I agree- I liked the old Tamas also

  • What?

You mean Peart has been playing the same solo for 20+ years?

Now,i am not impressed with him.

  • Neil is so goofy! (In a good way!)

  • der trommler

  • Neil is THE innovator for so many drummers. Just like Hendrix is for soo many guitarists. Truth be said that alot of guitar players can play much better than hendrix but hes still Hendix. Give Neil his respect, hes still rockin at age 60. He was/is definitely one of the greatest and will always be the greatest for me for what he has done for me. Stop the shit people

  • Drums and drumming doesnt have to be the fastest and most techincal and whatever u may call, this is his drumming, if u dont like it dont complain too much, just go listen to other musicians...NP is a drummer and he knows how to drum and write drums, his drum sound and performance are the best in my opinion his writing is amazing, as everyone agree he never over do it, its spot on..thats not easy. He knows where to put the notes...thanks.

  • @Talaramama well said my friend, Neil may not be THE best-but he is my favorite for what he writes and how he plays it

  • Neil is extremely influential to the point that I call him the gateway drummer because he gets a lot of future drummers attention by getting them interested in drums, he is definitely a rockIcon in drums, but he would be the first tell you that there are many better than him in other branches of music, after all at the high piont of his career he took on a Bruford to teach him another perspective on drums, you gotta respect that!

  • Neil PEART IS a ROBOT. .. They proved this on the discovery channel couple years ago. Its not really a secret in the band obviously, but its amazing what those japanese could do even back then.

  • For every drummer hm?

    Not really.

He's one of my major influences too but not the top #1

  • agree. hes my favorite drummer as well. a majority of his stuff is not advanced drumming. i still love it, dont get me wrong. but from a technical standpoint neil is not even close to the top of the food chain. he will always be my number 1 influence!!!

  • @sambi666 becareful samuelDeLuce might shit himself if he sees your username lol

  • @tbagger666 Yep that's right , so WATCH OUT

  • Percussionist (per-cush-uhn-ist) Noun;

    1. One who plays drums and other percussion-related instruments (see 'Percussion')

I.E. Drums, and other percussion instruments.

    END OF STORY.

  • Everyone....don't be lured into a war of words with reedlover. He is a complete troll, and gets his jollies from pushing buttons that he knows will start a controversy and will start a flaming war.

Just look the other way, ignore him and eventually he'll go away!

(BTW reedlover fully knows who Neil Peart is, who Rush is and is currently a constant poster on Rush fan websites. He is just yanking your chain, feliceyyz!!! Don't fall prey to his antics!!!)

  • hey reedlover, all drummers play percussion; and have you been under a rock for 25 years?

  • No, just not under a Prog Rock...have they released an album since Signals?

In the context of rock music "percussion" tends to relate to all the other toys that drummers hit but a real percussionist is a master of those toys.

  • Pretty clever-prog rock, ha ha...we just have different definitions of "percussionist" . Rush has released prob 15 albums since then. But alot of people haven't heard anything since Tom Sawyer. Are you just more of a mainstream kind of guy?

  • @reedlover

    c u n t.

  • p o t t y m o u t h

  • WoW! Awesome. This is my favorite percussionist!

  • SWEET!! makes you wish camcorders were more prevalent in the 70's!!!!!!!

  • Cool! Look how thin Alex was!

  • he's only a major influence for every drummer on the planet

  • @moderndaywarriar Definitely my favorite drummer, along with Bruford, Lombardo, Bonham, Copeland, Bozzio, Rich, Palmer, etc... Great video, how did you manage to find it? Thanks for posting.

  • @moderndaywarriar he is way overrated.

  • @tbagger666 Oh!! OK !! Ya he's way over-rated!! hahaha

Mr.666, whoa!! Dude you're so evil !! WOW, do you worship Satan or something? Do you think you're cool or something by putting that # on the end of your name?

YOU are OVER RATED my friend and an IDIOT. Trying to show people how evil you are is a very childish and silly thing to do.

Neil is more than likely a better drummer with BOTH arms tied behind his back than ANYONE you can think of.

  • @SamuelDeLuce im sorry i made you piss yourself over a stupid comment i was just giving you my opinion. but im glad i ruined your day.and no actually 666 is just a number in my id number i had in high school. gently change your tampon and enjoy the rest of your day

  • Lol's.

  • @reedlover HOW?!

  • Would actually be cool if the audio didn't cut out every 3 seconds! ANNOYING AS HELL!

  • RUSH!!!! Neil!!!!!!!!!!
