  • During the Great Prophet Mohammed's time there was an oral tradition for communication. Much of His words were written down well after his death & little in his day. This has led to distortions of his words - e.g. Sharia being words of Man, not the Manifestation of God's - as they pick & choose the bits that fit their culture & agenda. Theocracies like Iran run on corruptions of the holy words, including ignoring The Prophet's instruction to respect all faiths, give equality to women, etc.

  • The Baha'i faith's structures and processes do not allow people to gain power by canvassing for positions nor to hold office without fully democratic annual elections. Always decisions are made by consultation and concensus, with no one in a higher position than another. ALL those in office are there to support and encourage Baha'is to give service to the wider community - regardless of their faith - and not just to Baha'is. The people of the world are seen as one race, under one God.

  • Angles so rare while fools abound

  • WE ALL SHOULD BE FREE TO FEEL GOD IN ARE OWN WAY . ONE GOD

  • "Say: All things are of God." from the Holy Writings of Baha'u'llah.

It is for us to do right or choose wrong, perform good and harmonious deeds, or evil and dischordant acts.

God has invested us with choice, or free will. The power of the universe, like the keys of a car handed to an adolescent, is now in our hands.

He also says, "Taste ye what your hands have wrought!"

  • Disgusting men!!!.......any religion where women are seen as garbage is ridiculous and in all organized religion it all comes down to power over others not about actual faith or spirituality....religion and politics should never coincide to many oppertunities for people to manipulate and twist with hatred and ignorance which are the true evils in this world !!!!!

  • @colieperson - The fact of the matter is that evil, by itself, is powerless. The only power that evil has resides in corrupting something that is good. That which is evil requires that which is good in order to prosper. The unifying principles and protective laws of Islam are good, and come from the source of all good. It is no wonder that the doers of evil seek to use that power, a power granted by God, for evil purposes. This is why the worst enemies of any faith are always from within it.

  • Two great difficulties exist where martyrdom exists. Is the cause greater than my life itself? Millions die for family, country, etc. Religious martyrdom is even greater than these if it is rational and not fanatical. What is the nature of reality? The life of the body is the apparel of the soul, which shall one day be unravelled anyway. So "premature" death by martyrdom is a choice between immanent death for a supreme cause, or eventual death for the sake of a life without principal.

  • The Rescue Plan: "Nothing short of the unity of the entire human race will suffice to heal the ills which afflict mankind." Baha'u'llah states clearly in His Writings that which will unify the peoples of whatever race or religion, for we are one, created by One God, whether we say Allah, God, Jehovah, or the Great Spirit. There is one sun in the sky, shining, whatever we call it. The Manifestation appears like the same spiritual Sun from age to age, clothed in new human garb, a veil ...

  • Thousands, even millions are unjustly imprisoned. The Baha'is imprisoned in Iran are free to go home if only they recant their belief in Baha'u'llah as the Manifestation of God. This world contains illusions of permanence. Faith and prayer provide vision and strength. The example of this young girl and her friends in the face of torture and death speaks far more than words can witness to. Praise be to God for their courage and convictions, that we may be freed from the prison of self.

  • Monstrous! Where was the outrage of civilized people everywhere?! Why did I not know about this? Where was the UN? Amnesty International? Human rights organizations? Can we bring all the Bahai's in Iran to the United States?

  • @SondraHarnes - Many Iranian Baha'is have, for the sake of their families, moved to the United States or elsewhere. Many have opted to stay, out of the noble belief that enduring persecution for this faith is an honor and a blessing.

Amnesty International has fought on behalf of the Baha'is, as have many humanitarian organizations and state officials from countries all over the globe, and it has had an effect that should not be belittled--but obviously, it has failed to stop it completely.

  • @PeterJDeer While I understand why some will stay, I wish we could rescue all of them. It's very good that Amnesty International and other ngos and international government officials have tried to help, but it's not working - in Iran or other countries where Bahai's and other religious minorities are persecuted. Much, much more needs to be done.

  • Comment removed

  • @SondraHarnes - Indeed, you and I are in agreement there. Much of what will need to be changed is in the world, however, a duty which falls on the non-Iranian Baha'is, whose activities are less constrained by oppression, to bring about through their character and through their positive influence on their individual communities and their own country.

The Baha'is of Iran need only remain steadfast; what they are doing is already changing the world.

  • @ramindjame I'm encouraged to see more about the persecution of Bahai's on Facebook. It looks like the leadership is getting results in terms of governments condemning the persecution, killings, and religious discrimination. Of course, there should be more and greater efforts by all the governments of the world.

The leaders of Iran are barbaric. They will answer to God. In the meantime I wish all the people there would rise up against the dictatorship with support from the world community.

  • Thanks so much, very nice

  • There are over 60 Baha'is in prison in Iran on various trumped up charges, all because they refuse to deny their faith. To be able to withstand that level of persecution and pressure - particularly in the ungodly manner of torture - makes them angels on earth.

  • I pray that Mona is with God and finally free from that hideous regime.

  • @Yesica1993 - If all these heinous misdeeds can be done unto Baha'is, supposedly in the name of Islam, and yet we can still see beyond that that this is not representative of Islam's teachings, then why are others unable to do so?

  • @Yesica - So just based on the fact that my opinion differs from yours you assume I'm either a liar, brainwashed, or a Muslim pretending not to be a Muslim?

Seems like you just don't accept the possibility of you being wrong about something.

  • @Yesica1993 - Now Yesica, I am a Baha'i, and I've seen a lot of bad stuff done in the name of "Islam". I've seen all sorts of verses quoted to me and usually I find that the people who quote them do not know the verse before them and after them and conveniently have their quotes in list form (and in the same order, often enough)

Let me guess, probably going to cite 9:5, 2:191, a handful of Hadith, something a website said about Aisha...tell you what, I'll tell you if you tell me something new.

  • @PeterJDeer

If you had read the Koran cover to cover as I have, you would know it has no real context to speak of. Its not a narrative like the Bible is. Its mainly Allah speaking to Mohammad. Also, if youve read it, youd know the clear hatred that is in it and for unbelievers like YOU as well. So why you choose to make excuses and defend a religion that mandates your conversion, submission or death is beyond me. Goodbye.

  • @Yesica - Saying that I'm wrong and there is no context for the stuff you've seen is a poor substitute for posting it and letting me determine that for myself.

I am afraid that your arguments are currently not backed up by evidence, therefore I cannot consider them valid.

I similarly reject the notion of "clear hatred" or "conversion or death" that you espouse, and I have specifically read that which disproves that. Indeed, "there is no compulsion in religion" 2:256

  • @PeterJDeer (YT's new commenting boxes have been giving me difficulty, so I don't know if I've already responded to this.)

Anyway, all I can say is read the Koran for yourself. The mandated hatred toward all unbelievers is there from the first chapter to the last. If you don't have one, you can find online versions. There's no reason for anyone to take what I say. Read for yourself and make up your own mind.

  • @Yesica1993 - But you see, I already have. In fact, on my computer I have four different translations which I compare (and a couple others on a transliteration website that is particularly useful for understanding individual words)

This is why I have asked you to post something I haven't read before, an argument that is different from those who simply copy and paste things from anti-Islam websites.

As far as I can tell you're just asserting your argument without providing supporting evidence.

My heart felt condoloensces goes out to the Bahai community and all communities who have suffered the injustices of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

  • How many Baha'is have been killed by Muslims, How many Baha'is Holy places have been destroyed, how much property has been stolen ? The Arch of freedom in Terhan was designed by a Bahai.

  • R.I.P my dear mona

  • Soon there will be a movie about mona produced by mel gibsons icon pro. You see the people in iran getting killed. That happened to the Bahá'i since the islamic revolution but without international media.

May God bless Humanity and help the people of iran!

  • get real.. we have bigger problems and this not how the story went. just one more foreign involvement in the affairs of a country

  • I've never seen this production, and know little about the actual events; how different is the portrayal in this film compared to the actual precession of things in Iran at the time?

    Peace

  • How strange it is that the price of liberty and justice is paid with the blood of the young and defenseless. The Revolution in Iran contains the seeds of its own destruction.

When religion and politics ride in the same cart the whirlwind follows. May people of all faiths and nationalities continue to remember men and women of courage and character who have paid the ultimate price.

How many more Mona's and Neda's have to die to win the simple freedom to be kind and exist?

  • these people deserve an atomic bomb on the head

  • Don't forget the 10 in 1983. The youngest had to see all her friends die before her and then kissed the rope before she was hanged.

  • To mimmophuket61:

There are plenty of Muslims and Iranians who had nothing to do with this injustice, who possess pure hearts and kindly souls.

That some have committed injustice unto us does not justify hatred towards all of them.

  • @PeterJDeer.....This is where you are wrong, Injustice under name of religion is completely the fault of supporters/followers of such religion. Also by allowing their (religious) leaders to behave in this inhumane, brutal manner, keeping silence about these improper behavior is completely the fault of people. It is understood that the system of government in Iran is somewhat dictated, however, remember history; Injustice somewhere is injustice everywhere and sooner or later will affect everone.

  • @Pashatube - Yes, but what you're saying here is that the fault of inhuman acts of people claiming to be Muslims is to be laid upon all Muslims, even those who are strongly outspoken against it.

Did you know there's a Muslim network for Baha'i rights? Or that the person defending the Baha'is is the first Muslimah nobel laureate? Or that Muslims have been on the news, have protested, have even been imprisoned for the sake of those you claim they are silent about? What of them?

  • Comment removed

  • @ramindjame - I think that's an oversimplification. The savagery of the ancient Arabs cannot be denied; it is well-recorded. But for the most part, I find the Qur'an to re-emphasize the same essential message regarding Islam's oppressors; don't consort with them, fight them where they fight Muslims, be merciful to them should they retreat or repent, and do not be the one to begin hostilities with them.

Obviously, among Baha'is holy war is abrogated, as it does not serve mankind's needs today.

  • Comment removed

  • @ramindjame - I would say impossible prey. If they killed you, what would happen? Their aim would utterly fail; you would be delivered into the hands of God, having given your life in His path, and the faith would spread from it.

As Baha'u'llah Himself once said, "Armed with the power of Thy name, nothing can ever hurt Me, and with Thy love in My heart all the world's afflictions can in no wise alarm Me."

They can kill us and spread the faith, or let us do it by living.

  • Comment removed

  • @ramindjame - I see some of what I have said has been grievously misinterpreted, and many conclusions entirely unrelated to anything I have said have been drawn.

You seem to think that God rewarding us for spending our lives in His path somehow means that your life is devalued? I ask you; what is the value of your life? Does life only have value when spent on its own preservation? Is the value of a life determined by its length?

How long you live is not as important as what you do with life.

  • Comment removed

  • @ramindjame - meanwhile I am awestruck that you seem to hold no value in a gift which I shall likely never get the chance to partake of, and a service which I shall never do justice to.

    "O SON OF MAN!

Ponder and reflect. Is it thy wish to die upon thy bed, or to shed thy life-blood on the dust, a martyr in My path, and so become the manifestation of My command and the revealer of My light in the highest paradise? Judge thou aright, O servant!" (Baha'u'llah, The Arabic Hidden Words)

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @ramindjame - Nothing to forgive. I understand that my way of thinking often comes of as...insensitive.

  • Comment removed

  • @ramindjame - Of course, that is a given, not just because of the value of their lives, but because of the importance of justice. Why do you think Baha'is worldwide are working to end the persecution?

When I say you misinterpret me, this is what I mean. You seem to be of the notion that I am claiming their lives are not valuable, or that nothing should be done...but have ANY of my comments actually said that? Quite the contrary, I am saying that it is OUR job to stand up for them.

  • Comment removed

  • @ramindjame - Nothing to forgive, I entirely understand. When people see sadness and death firsthand, it's hard to look at it from a distance. It's hard to look at injustice and see justice behind it. And it's all the more frustrating when people don't understand how that feels.

So I understand finding what I say frustrating; but I want you to know I don't say it out of a lack of understanding of sadness and injustice. It took a long time before I could look at death as a messenger of joy.

  • Comment removed

  • @ramindjame - You're right. It is detachment. I have not developed an attachment to their mortal forms, thus them winging their flight to the Abha kingdom does not cause me to suffer from pangs of attachment. I am able to rejoice, rather, knowing that this is truly what is best and happiest for them, and not suffer for my own sake from loss.

My own grandmother, who I loved very dearly, died this week. I did not shed a single tear, because death is not sad for those who die. That is detachment.

    shes such a brave women ! :'(

  • I want Mona back:(

  • im a catholic and iranian i never want to step on iranian soil ever in my life again

  • rest in peace my sweet!

  • what a brave young woman i hope her fate will carry on her wishes god rest her soul and those who died with her

  • Many Bahai's have been put to death, houses confiscated, holy places destroyed. If there is a God, may the people who took young lives rot in a hell of their own making.

  • to hell with the prejudices!

  • wow ... that was really sad!!!

  • Very Beautiful...Enjoyed it greatly.

  • Can u please put the rest of the clip plz thank you.

  • Mona continues to be a source of inspiration to us all. Thank you for this posting.

  • yousaifislam,

So do you approve of killing a 17 year old girl because of her religion?

  • William, dont waste your time on ignorant people like yousaifislam. The fact is today more than ever, islam is showing its ugly and disgusting face to the world. We are embaressed by Islam. Bunch of terrorists, murderers and rapists. Islam has destroyed Iran, but we wont let it destroy the world.

  • Butterflyonocean:

Islam has nothing to do with what they did to Mona, save the fact that Mona herself truly embodied its fundamental teachings of faith, sacrifice, and service. These individuals who committed this crime held only the name of Islam, not its reality.

  • DEATH TO REGIME!

    DEATH TO REGIME

  • Comment removed

  • The point that is trying to be made is why? Why should a 16 year old girl be put to death for teaching children, children that were expelled for religious beliefs. You don't have to believe in God or anything for that matter to know that is wrong. this happened in 1983 and continues to happen in 2009 as Baha'is are still persecuted in Iran.

  • This made me cry. Mona was my mothers best friend in Shiraz.. really Mona is still an angel. GOD BLESS MONA

All the love from the Ashenaei family

  • very beauty full

my aunt new mona and was one of the children in that children's class...she cryed her self to sleep that night

btw, the singer is a covenant breaker lol but never the less its a beauty full song

  • how do you know hes a covenant breaker ? ?

  • well i found out that he wasnt im sorry for the wrong statement but he did have to leave the faith due to something i dont no why but he now works for treehouse show called ants in your pants

  • I just read back the comments on this video and please people, let's stay respectful and not lose the big picture. Look at the forgiveness Mona gave her persecutors. There's no need to judge an entire group based on what part of that group did, no matter how horrible and unjust the acts.

  • Mona's selfless sacrifice will be praised all around the world for as long as Baha'i's walk the face of that same world. We should all honour the martyrs for their love and forgiveness, even for those who killed them. May we all be as they are. To have such a strong faith is a blessing.

  • thank you for the video btw. it was beautiful

  • i dont understand why all you people are fighting over religion.

end of the day we all believe in one god, no matter who we follow.

krishna, buddha, zoroaster, abraham, moses, jesus, mohammad and baha'u'llah all taught the same teachings but their only difference is the era in which they taught.

thats why each messenger told us that they will return, nd they all did in the following messenger of God to modernise the teachings and reveal more to us which we could not have understood earlier

  • speak for yourself. many dont believe in God or anything like it.

  • Baha'i ppl are peaceful in Iran.

Islam is Evil!!! it destroyed Iran!

I hope Khomeni burns in Hell.

  • 1 year ago, you commented here saying that Islam is evil. Islam is a monotheistic religion that the Baha'i community acknowledges as an approved existing religion from God.

  • We as bahais are not allowed to judge other religions. No matter what if we are real bahais we dont have the right to judge anyone because of their belief.

  • hmm

  • What can we know here about Islam and Baha'is?

You all have a BIG MOHAMMED PROBLEM!

  • By chance, were you raised in the Latin Rite? Interesting, is it not, that ecumenism wasn't able to fulfill its own promise? I was raised the same way - it took a jolt from the world of science - the impending nuclear doom - to bring me to the spirit trail. The problem is never the Messenger - it's we who muddy the waters with our own dogmas. WOOF!!

  • lol, Look at how quickly these comments become hateful. The so-called righteous people who are rightly outraged by this become just as hateful as these twisted individuals who killed Mona.

  • Muslems are fucking terrorists, like cancerours cells that will never cure. Bunch of dirty blood thirsty animals. Down with islam

  • Sorry u feel that way, but how can you condemn all Muslim ppl. for what some have done.

  • butterflyonocean, you cannot blame everyone for the fault of some. Just because the mullahs and some certain muslems portray islam in the wrong way, that gives you no right to discriminate and diss all other people of that religion.

  • The hateful, intolerant teachings of Islam are clear. Read the Koran and the life of Mohammad.

  • I have. How are they hateful? Would you mind enlightening us?

  • I agree with this, I read the Quran regularly and I have seen nothing to justify this hatred.

  • Then you're willfully blind or lying. See response to masudrules

  • @Yesica1993 - I still await your response

  • 1 year ago, you commented here saying that Islam teaches intolerance clearly and that by reading the Qur'an and the life of Muhammad it'd be pointed out (I'm guessing that's what you meant anyways). 1 person already asked you to specify and you didn't, so again, I'd like to broaden the scope by asking you to look up how many Verses in the Qur'an related to having patience and overseeing the peoples' faults and forgiving their arrogance. You'll not want to fool around with that.

    Peace.

  • @agreeableviews816 I will copy/paste my response to PeterJDeer, since its not showing up

    Part 1

I dont know if youre a Muslim practicing taqiyya, an ignorant apologist or simply a liar, but heres a list of some of the jihad verses of the Koran verses which mandate hatred and violence toward unbelievers like me.

  • This is human evolution?

  • with Him Who is the Desire of all men, and that sufferings and tribulations should serve as the instrument whereby His Word of command is spread abroad and the standards of His praise are unfurled in all regions." Baha'u'llah

  • and why should the light be made manifest through suffering and tribulation? this sounds like the christian god rather than the baha'i version [i believe u will say the two are the same so maybe i should not have asked]. it seems to me to be a tad poetic to assume that the worst things about humanity were created in the same instance and with the same just and holy reasoning as the light of the world.

  • "The Prophets and Messengers of God have been sent down for the sole purpose of guiding mankind to the straight Path of Truth. The purpose underlying Their revelation hath been to educate all men, that they may, at the hour of death, ascend, in the utmost purity and sanctity and with absolute detachment, to the throne of the Most High. The light which these souls radiate is responsible for the progress of the world and the advancement of its peoples...

  • All things must needs have a cause, a motive power, an animating principle. These souls and symbols of detachment have provided, and will continue to provide, the supreme moving impulse in the world of being." Baha'u'llah

  • can you speak about hoseinali noori and ali mohamad bab??? 2 mullas and liars!!!!

  • she is really the angel of shiraz!!god bless you

  • This condemned regime claims to be islamic. Look what they 're doing to people, muslim, non-muslim. The situation is even harder for minorities. It is hardbreaking.

  • I'm proud of her.Iran always had and has it's men and woamen, although this anti Iran

  • why was she killed? Didn't get it?

  • they killed just b/c of her relegion !!!

  • Mona is a blessing for the Baha'is!

Thank you for making this video. I hope one day we can make a video of other that died and also of Baha'u'lla'h.

  • i know her mum and she is still greiving about what happened all those years ago. but she is proud of her. we all are. she is an inspiration to all bahai girls.

  • Very Beautiful...Enjoyed it greatly. True story...

  • Dear mona,You'r the world's most greatest and courageous woman FOREVER.

  • excelent presentation.

  • Why is it that on every Bahai video there's usually people who put it down? I think we need to have a more open mind; and maybe some intelligence, a lot of what they say are simplistic point of views. They can believe what they want to believe in, but isn't this all a bit silly? I just want to put that out there, since it's been bothering me as I read comments.

  • That was so sad and she was only 17. I pray one day Iran will have peace and that humanity will look back at all of this madness that iran has done and people will say "what were they thinking" kind of like the holocaust.

  • No one should kill people for just belief!!! what a strange world?

Killing people for Money,Oil ...thats good...Even millions of children in Iraq...

One Mona appoles more then a Million Muslim children.

    What a shit.

  • Mona is not more or less important then anyone that is being killed or murdered for any reason. This is just a video that is dedicated to Mona; this isn't saying that other people and problems don't matter. Please try to understand that :)

  • in other words its propaganda for bahai faith.

  • Well, my friend the question is not about being killed but is about the question "why". Daily a lot of people are getting killed and it does not get noticed. Mona lived a life full of purpose. She was an example to other youth in her spiritual qualities. She stood firmly by her life and died for her belief and by choice. That is the difference.

  • Our Creator,Who have so much love inside...How we human wants to bind our lord with our faith!

No matter what's ur religion, faith,People should not be killed!

  • Where is it possible to learn more of the Bahai faith

  • bahai (dot) org would be the best place to start.

  • Never knew such despicable disgraceful things happened in Iran. It's ultimate shame for bastards who commited this. However, It's obvious the video is fake, and again showing untruthfulness of the deeds. It reminds me of comic clips these Mojahedin making which has a back fire and instead of spreading hatred for Mullahs , makes us think if not Mullahs then another fanatical group will rule whose principles are based on lies..

  • Is it true that they are going to make a major motion picture out of her life?

  • Every One that makes a comment such as 78 they are free to do so remember you can not come back to this life to un do it.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I pray for peace for all mankind.

  • I don't agree the killing of every human just because of his/her believes but I admit that Baha'e is evil.

  • u are too cruel. i wish people would stop harrasing bahais. people like u. the only reason the ulama are talking bad about bahais is that they do not want to lose their grip over people. that is part of the reason why tihran was changed to tehran

  • can you justify your comment of "Bahai is evil"? I very much doubt it. This is a religion that teaches peace and tolerance. Shame Islam doesn't do the same which hazzarding a guess, I think you belong to.

  • Which cities????? Which minorities seek power??????? Zionists are followers of the Jewish religion (no affiliation to Bahais) Athiests are people who do not believe in God. (Jews and Bahais support the notion of a God) So you have justified nothing and made contradictory, nonsical statements.

  • Hey the only traitors to Iran and Iranians are dirty muslems like you. Your mullahs are the real puppets of Britain. Go read the history. Fuck you and Islam

  • Dirty pieces of shit like you are the reason why Iran is in this situation today. Many innocent iranians regardless of their religious and political beliefs are being totured everyday. You are not a real iranian. You have sold your brain to Arabs, just like your master mullahs. Im ashamed to be from the same country as you dirty bastards.

  • I found many of Rumi's poems in bahai's book.

This means that Bahai was a thief.

  • could you please make reference?

  • haha wtf how do you get Bahais are evil from that

  • You are an uneducated idiot man, go read some books before opening your mouth and making a fool of yourself.
