@AFNYOAQIS I think you need to try a few more, then chief. I wouldn't say either was better, as they sell on their unique merits - but both have their odd little quirks. Both have remained relatively wedded to their original design ideas.
dude this bass is made for pick! i just tried it at a store and let me tell you playing with a pick was in a whole new level of sound! it rocked my world!
I will not go into comparison with other bass guitars on the market. But I will say this bass is worthy of bearing the les Paul name because of it's diverse warm and brilliant tone, which is synonymous with les. P. Also the person in the vid did a great job demonstrating the vast ranges by changing up the tone knobs frequently. Not many others do that on yt while supposedly demoing an instrument.
fender basses are better for slap, but have gone wayyyy done in quality control, i know more bad new fender basses than i do new gibsons, but if i had the choice always go vintage they just have a straight up better tone
@mmstingrayRHCP actually i heard gibsons quality control is gone now too because they have an idiotic manager trying to make impossible deadlines so naturally weaker crap gets sent through as passable. WE'RE SCREWED!!!!
is that a marshall e-guitar amp ?

I own a Gibson Les Paul Bass just like this. It has the most incredible tone and precise intonation of any bass I've ever tried to record with.

In my opinion, Gibson is better for guitars than for basses, Rickenbacker makes better basses than gibson

@AFNYOAQIS gibson is Gibson i Love it

Id reckon a Les Paul bass with bartos is way more powerful than a Rickenbacker with standard pickups.

@giggs102
true, gibson sucks donkey shit in basses, but the les paul bass ain't a bad bass at all. but still not close to a fender P-Bass xD
DVGTS1 1 year ago
@DVGTS1
You're so narrow minded. P-basses aren't anything special. Also, Gibson makes some quality basses.
WoWintosh 1 year ago
@WoWintosh
I'm not narrow minded. in fact, that has nothing to do with the fact that Gibson basses are nowhere,despite being of good quality.
p-basses aren't special,but they shouldn't be.And I never said they were special. They just have the sound a bass guitar should have.

I think Gibson fails at making basses.Their basses are exact copys of the guitars,and that sucks.
magatuning 1 year ago
@magatuning My Gibson Les Paul Bass from the early '70 says something diffrent.. :P
But you've got right, the newer Gibson Basses (Except the thunderbirds for Rock) just suck ;)
