Son of the Bitch Fexin TK-70, Design this stupid Kick down power mode which only can last 5 sec only.
Why could this happen for Fenix TK70, Why got such stupid kick down 5 sec power down timer problem for TK-70 in Turbo Mode? Why "2200Lumen" can only hold for 5 sec & then later drop down to 1480Lumen.
From Top1 in list for 5 sec & then later drop down to Below Olight SR-92 standard. Why u want to do that stupid power down mode in 5 sec inside TK-70 & cheat us all? Why!!!
Where is the best place to buy these LED's ? Also, I allways hear about 'Driver boards' , But cant I just use a simple resistor to limit current ?? I want to retrofit one of these into my Ol' chrome 'bullet' style bicycle head light , I was gonna hack my new Lows 'Taskforce' , 2 C cell flashlight to get the bulb, but , maybe not
@neondave What do you mean by "best"? Best price, try Deal Extreme. Allow two to four weeks for delivery. If want a good selection with higher lumen bins, try LED Supply. That's where I buy mine. As for the driver. If you plan to power an XP-G or XM-L at a low current (under 500 mA) with some alkaline batteries, you could get away with just a heat sink. If you want to power these above 500, then I suggest a constant current driver. Some can be picked up for as little as $2.
Check out the Solderless Socket Solution for the CREE XLAMP® MP-L™ LED from Tyco Electronics. There is a get video demo at youtube.com/user/tycoelectronics#p/c/3BA0D4D776A447EA/0/Lqlrz1szBcs
Nice comparison, thanks. Would be interesting in the future to know if the driver requirements are different, or the beam angle and reflector requirements, too. Thinking upgrades.
132L/W.. thats just insane..

130+ lumens/watt?!!!

@diodepack yeah Cree XP-G has blown everything else away.
looks promising

@diodepack the new XM-L LED is 160 LM per watt (at one watt) and 100 lm per watt at 1000 LUMEN'S

@powermaks just crazy! photonics and solid state research is advancing so fast!

i'd love to see those in use.
