  • BUBBLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • best way to clean a bowling ball is that yea the hot water idea is good but dont use it like every 2 or 3 week do it like a few month maybe half a year to a year plus get this stuff call "goof off" u get it at wal mart and its in the paint sescon in wal mart and only use a couple of drop and it was clean ur bowl like no tomorrow plus if u dont want to use that use this stuff called "Liquid Nitro" u could get it online or maybe ur pro shop its a aprove for ABC/WIBC

  • Andi also baked it 2 monthes ago

  • Or u could jest put the ball in the oven. That's what I do and my ball and I bowled a 150 tonite with a 147 avg

  • To anybody watching this.... Please dont do this do your bowling equipment. You will ruin a perfectly good ball. There are proper methods which are far easier and products to use for up keep of your bowling equipment. When in doubt go to the pro shop that drilled the ball for you and ask.

  • You are not supposed to fill water inside the finger holes

  • Soaking the ball will not crack the ball. By soaking the ball in warm water, you bleed out the oil that was deeply seeded in the coverstock. DO NOT use very hot water becuse this CAN lead to seperation of the coverstock from the core, if the temp is alright for your hand, it's alright for the ball. Fill the wholes with putty and tape over the wholes with electrical tape, this will prevent any water from seeping into the inner walls of the core. THE MOST EFFECTIVE AND SAFE WAY TO REMOVE OIL.

  • i guess this is a way not to use the invention of a ball spinner

  • lol, hes washing his balls on camera

  • Soaking your ball in water will eventually crack the ball.

  • Soaking your ball in water will eventually crack the ball.

  • As a Pro Shop owner I actually urge my customers NOT to do things like this .A ball is like a sponge, it soaks up lane oil so why will it not soak up the water. This process softens the ball, reducing its hardness on the D-Rex scale, ultimately reducing impact at the deck and causing less carry. Perhaps once ina balls life is ok but def dont do this often. To properly clean your ball your should take it to your local pro shop and a gentle heat technique (not an ovan) is used to extract the oil

  • @justin1305 Wow... One pro shop owner just helps another huh... No I will not take my ball to a pro shop "owner"... Fag.

  • @TheBrassHole lmao its actually the opposite. pro shop owners stitch each other up for business. lol then dont take ur ball. its ur choice, enjoy killing ur 200 dollar balls :)

  • @justin1305 200 dollar ball? LOL You must suck pro shop owner's cocks.

  • I use painter's tape to cover up the holes

  • any questions message me and ill answer your questions about bowling.. ill be posting videos soon

  • another way is heat up water on a stove DONT BOIL just heat up where its steamin good and port it into a bucket over your ball with dawn dish soap and let it sit for 30 min and take it out wipe it down really good this is important b/c the oil is goin to be sitting on the surface you can use a ball spinner is easier and use scotch brite pad and cross hatch the surface thats where you wipe it down one way flip it on its side and wipe it down the other way, take the shine out, ball hooks like new

  • oh you mean bowling ball my testicle so sore i only found one hole know my finger stink but alcohol help me make smell better kill germs help me improve avg and score with sexy girlfriend i no longer take bath with bowling balls so sorry thank you sir thank you please i am retarted man handicrap pls forgive

  • Don't use alcohol, you will wreck the plasticizers in the ball..

  • i thought you were suppose to tape the holes ?

  • You are... Hes going too water-log his ball like this

  • @ONE32CLONE you dont have to

  • What happens if i just leave my bowling ball in hot water for 10 minutes with out the alcohol or the detergent?

  • It is alright to leave the ball in hot water for up to 20-30 min. When I do mine I leave it in there for 25 min. and while it is in there I do nothing with alcohol or anything. I just let it sit for that amount of time. This is the way that storm reccomends to do it.

  • @justinmill14 Oh alright thanks

  • i know it was a simple statement but what do you mean by cleaning with your hands. while it is in the water of course but do i need to rub it as if my hand was a towel or rub it like im trying to rub off marker with my finger

  • All you are going to be doing is rubbing the oil that is on the cover.. If yoou do this every 5 min or so it will allow you to get more oil out of the ball..

  • isnt it bad to totally submerge the ball and the water getting into your finger holes??

  • Is that a killer instinct your cleaning there? I miss my old KI :(

  • that would be a old Storm Banshee.. I think it came out in like early 06 late 05

  • so if i clean my ball with the alchohol.. well it effect the "shinyness" of the ball... i have a storm hyroad and i wanna keep it clean after every game but i dont want the alchohol to effect the coverstock

  • the polish will not be affected... I also throw a Hy-Road and have never had an issue... Now that is cleaning with alcohol after use.... Now if you do the hot water bath you may see a little dullness but it will not remove the polish completly... You will be fine cleaning after use with alcohol without changing the cover. Thanks for the comment

  • How often should the ball be washed like this? Can you do this with any type of bowling ball? If you wash it too frequently....will it damage the coverstock of the ball?

  • I wouldnt do it too often.. Maybe every 75-100 games.. thats about what I do.. Just keep the ball clean after use each time with 91% alcohol and you will be good.. Doing this often wont hurt the ball but its just really not needed as long as you keep it clean.. I use a microfiber towel while bowling. 1 dry and 1 with alcohol. usually ill use the dry one before EVERY shot, strike or spare ball by habit.. then the alcohol in the 5th frame, then back to dry towel.. then alcohol prior to packing up.

  • You do know that is illegal to clean your ball during competition right? You can only clean it after it is over.

  • You would be wrong. Unless tournament or league rules state otherwise, you are permitted to clean your bowling ball during competition as long as you are using an approved cleaner.

  • If you take a look at the site listed in the video I have a thread on there where you can ask questions or just chat about anything bowling.

  • @airhkfor3 i soak my balls after everytime ive used them, no problems

  • I have a bowling ball with rubber fingertip inserts. I cant Imagine the water will hurt them, but what about the alcohol?

  • The alcohol will be fine with them... at one point rubbing alcohol was the only thing you could use to clean your bowling balls during sanction play.. they will be fine.. Thanks for the question..

  • thanks for the speedy response. I just finished the wash cycle, I'm moving on to the rinse.

  • No problem, If you check out the website that I have in the video you can chat with me on there about anyhting else you may have questions about..

  • do you have to cover the holes? i read about doing this and the site said to cover the finger holes. i noticed you did it so i'm guessing it doesn't hurt but i'm just double checking.

  • You can if you would like to, but it will not hurt the ball with the short time its in the water (15 min)..

  • I've also been doing this for years....the only difference is that I will let the ball soak for about 10 mins, pull the ball out. wipe it dry with a towel, then change the water and resoak the ball again and then after drying the ball off, repolish the surface... works very well!!!

  • That is exactly how I do it.. But for time and the boring factor I couldn't show the WHOLE process..lol.. The only think I do different is I let it sit for 15 min.. Thanks for your comment.

  • been doing that to my cell and no problems with my ball. thanks

  • Thats a ball to be sure to keep the oil out of to keep the reaction.. Thanks for your comment.

  • AHHHHHHHHH WAT THE HELL R YOU DOING THE HOT WATER AND SOAP DOESNT CLEAN THE BALL DONT B FOOLED BY THE SQEAKYNESS OF IT. on the ball are pores like your skin which absorb the oil and eventually (without cleaning it) will push the oil into the middle of the ball (core) this can harm the reactor inside and cause an imblance . letting the ball sit in the water like tht with the soap WILL RUIN IT!!!!!!!!! the ball will absorb all the water and soap and cause the core to start aroading

  • Please advise a way to clean the bowling ball.. And please don't say alcohol or commercial cleaners because that is only good for cleaning the oil on the covers or slightly in pores... I guess I have been doing it all whong and the advice that I have got from working in a proshop and from speaking with some Storm pro staff members was all wrong.. I await your response as do do all of us. Thanks for your input.

  • I put mine in the dishwasher, does the trick.

  • For those of you worrying about harming the ball in some way, shape, or form; don't worry about it! It'll all be just fine.

  • does this mess up the coverstock or reaction of the ball at all

  • No it does not mess up the reaction or the coverstock,, It brings the ball back to a "like new" tacky feel. So the reaction may be a little more than it was prior to cleaning but other than that it will not hurt or effect the ball in a negative way.

  • I've read some comments in bowling forums that you it's not very good to put bowling ball in very hot water or very hot oven/microwave.

    What is the water temperature?

I read somewhere that water temperature can't be higher than 50C / 120F.

  • 1st off i would NEVER use a microwave to clean a ball! As for the water temp, its just really hot tap water. No boiling or anyhting like that. I dont like ovens because the ball could "shock" when removed from a 120 degree oven to room temp. with the water the ball cools as the water cools. Also the oven method will bleed out the resin from the ball and sometimes the color will run in the ball as well.

  • what should i do with my ball, i have finger tip inserts

  • If you are refering to like covering them. dont worry about it.. the water for that length of time will not hurt the ball.

  • im just worried that the hot water will wear the super glue or do something funky to the inserts. know what i mean?

  • It will not effect any of that. I have done MANY balls this way with no problems at all.

  • Haha, I'm doing this right now. Except I'm using a 5gal bucket and sitting the ball on the thumb hole (so water doesn't get in). I'm leaving it there for half an hour at a time. It's crazy, you can actually see the oil seep out of the tiny pores of the ball.
