no lol if you get an amp weeker then your speakers you cant blow the speakers iv never had a problem and your talkin to some1 who always looks at new equipment and how they work i can tell you loads.
matchin the power is critical!! your not going to pop a speaker, but you can strain the driver so much that is burns out, using an amp that is under the rms power rating of your cab will do damage
matching the power can be good but if the amp is weaker only a little weaker say 50watts weaker then the Speakers you cant strain them at all and you cant blow the speakers either iv done it years.
Ummm- thats a really good point:). It does puzzle me why brands such as Numark, Ecler, Allen & Heath, Rane, Gemini and Korg are rarely featured:). Perhaps they don't want to lend him stuff lol;). It does give a very blinkered view to just feature Pioneer, Denon, American Audio and Kam gear:(.
hey J!!! so, if I out 2 4ohms speakers together in the same side that would bring it down to 2ohms right?? My amp says it can handle 2ohms, but even when it says that, is it good to do it?? would you recommend it??? or better not...
your amp will be trying to work harder, so your amp will not be able to run as long with out over heating, most amps that say it can handle 2ohms, means it will take it, but they don't recommended running 2ohms, most people would never run 2 ohms, even if it said handles 2 ohms, i think i only came across one amp that said "stable in 2ohms"
Do KAM make good speakers????

but always get an amp thats weaker then the speakers that way you cant blow up the speakers.
all clubs do that.
DJHenrySlick 3 years ago
uhum THATS NOT RIGHT.
a amplifier even need a very little bit more power than the speaker...
but a weaker amp.. NEVEr
thAN it will go faster in clip.
and if the amp is to weak than you also can blow the speaker..
SO NEVER DO THAT.

soooo wrong, thats a recipe for damaging speakers and your amp, not protecting them
