  • From St MARYS COOKING PLACE&CHEF EMERIL AND ELMO 2004

  • 1988 1989 1990

  • I remember there was used to be an extended version of this. Unfortunately, it was taken down.

  • Do KQED San Francisco and WQED Pittsburgh have the same slogan?

  • @cbsteffen Not quite. Those last three letters of both the San Francisco and Pittsburgh stations stand for a Latin phrase that translates to "to be demonstrated".

  • @gshowguy Then they should mean the same thing.

  • From PBS CBS and NBS News 1988

  • I saw this logo way back when, too. I lived in San Jose at that time, but that was part of the SF market. SJ also had its own PBS station, KTEH.

  • @disneyfan85 KTEH is now KQEH Or. KQED+

  • Another cooking show that had the KQED logo at the beginning: "Yan Can Cook" with Martin Yan.

  • I remember this logo very well. It was shown in San Jose, where I used to live, along with its own station, Channel 54: KTEH.

  • A Production of KQED, San Francisco

  • This came out in 1988, by the way.

  • this ended in 1990.

  • Actually, it ended later than that.

  • really?

  • Yeah. I think it ended in 2002.

  • go to 1990 KQED Station ID on youtube.

  • Well, that was only for San Francisco's local station ID, so they would use different animation for their ID. For us, though(since we're not in San Francisco), we would only see this logo until around 2002. Do you see what I'm saying?

  • oh i get it now.

  • @vzeu019j Wow I tended to see the 9 logo attached to the KQED Logo. But since I am in the Bay Area I am not used to this id.

  • Another variant of this logo includes an announcer saying "A production of KQED San Francisco".

  • The announcers that says this "A production of KQED San Francisco". are still there but they are also doing promos for KTEH.

  • I remember this from "The Frugal Gourmet."

  • Really? I thought WTTW produced all episodes of "The Frugal Gourmet".

  • Wasn't it shown at the end of Jacques Pepin Celebrates?

  • You know... I believe you're right. I do recall seeing the KQED logo at the end of Jacques Pepin's cooking shows in the 90s.

  • KQED San Francisco

  • How I wish this logo could be seen on TV again... (I live in Santa Rosa, but that's part of the San Francisco market)
