Instead he faced the single most powerful being in the Galaxy with little more than a flashlight and paper-thin armor. He did his duty. He died standing.

@AGrumpyPanda So if someone thinks the Space Marines somehow are the greatest heroes of the Imperium, remind them that Guardsmen have none of their strengths, yet face the same enemies and hold the line o a billion worlds. Courage doesn't make someone a hero, nor does having the balls to stand on the line with a crappy gun and no armour to speak of. The eldar and the Inquisition will occasionally work together briefly against a greater threat, but your average human, or even space marine, would never dream of doing so. And that is because the Emperor was in no way benevolent; he was the one who put the "shoot any and all aliens on sight" policy in place.

By the fluff, Orkz are practically useless against Marines, Eldar I'm not so sure off, Tau weaponry is practically useless against Space Marine armour (Fire Warrior). Just gotta hate that damn Chaos.

@Migueria The ideea is that both Chaos and the soldiers of the Imperium are all fanatics to some degree. But the causes they fight for with so much fervor are totally opposite. One fights for the survival of Mankind and the protection of the greatest human that ever lived while the other for the insane reason to destroy the galaxy... and monstruosity. But the tools they use to fight this war are pretty much the same... same concepts on how to kill the other and what to do to instill fear!

If it ever came to it: Chief would win vs an average Marine, why? this seems illogical yes, but remember, the Chief has plot armor(the thickest of armor, not even the hand of God can touch) in the univserse, now, take that plot armor off, and an average Imperial Space Marine, even a Scout can kill the Chief.
A guardsman would take him down after that. I doubt Chief could take a melta, krak, or lascannon shot with the armor. A rapid firing bolter would likely shred him seeing as they're basically small frag nades and when you're popping out so many a second... bye bye.
I kinda doubt he would be able to withstand being tack;ed by a marine though, 6' 10'' chief vs 8' 6'' marine plus all the extra organs and such marines get, plus the acid/fangs
psst halo is low tech if you compare to warhammer 40k cheif armor only would have gotten him to last a while he would have died against a space marine besides the chief has no weaponry able to kill the space marine

@MeatstickRob88 I think 40k is a bit too grimdark for you. The Imperium doesn't need to be "enlightened", it is the way it is because it's the only way to survive. If you want people getting along, stick to star trek and star wars. All the Eldar players posting about how the humans and Eldar should team up and defeat the universe with friendship are forgetting that the eldar are no more interested in an alliance than the Imperials. Learn you own fluff.

The eldar and the Inquisition will occasionally work together briefly against a greater threat, but your average human, or even space marine, would never dream of doing so. And that is because the Emperor was in no way benevolent; he was the one who put the "shoot any and all aliens on sight" policy in place.

@PraetorHesperus Read the novels or the codexes. The Eldars would not hesitate to sacrifice billions of humans (either divert a nid swarm or glass entire systems to starve a swarm from biomass) to save a few of their own.
And you expect the Imperium to take the first step and offer to cuddle cuddle with them.

@MrGamingAdventure The majority of the time, only by Chaos. Which most of the time use Space Marines against other Space Marines. So they're totally equally matched really.
By the fluff, Orkz are practically useless against Marines, Eldar I'm not so sure off, Tau weaponry is practically useless against Space Marine armour (Fire Warrior). Just gotta hate that damn Chaos.
Oh, an Necrons. Everybody hates Necrons... Stupid guns that strip er'bodies molecular make-up -_-

"das Omen" by E Nomine - a german band. But the text is more the opposite of "Hail to the Emperor". One passage means - "Open the doors to the legions of black, close the circle of evil, the omen!" In German: "Öffne das Tor den schwarzen Legionen, schließe den Kreis des Bößen, das Omen!" at 1:02 to 1:09

@isard99 You know, the imperium is a complex warmachine whose engines are faith and courage... but in so much death, as you have noticed, the imperiums soldiers (all types) are well acustomed and used to death, destruction, terror and complete annihilation... that is why they are comfortable to have skulls painted all over them and shout glory to the first man to die. That is why they are the called angels of death and ravens... so using dark terms to describe even up to pure evil is alright

@Migueria The ideea is that both Chaos and the soldiers of the Imperium are all fanatics to some degree. But the causes they fight for with so much fervor are totally opposite. One fights for the survival of Mankind and the protection of the greatest human that ever lived while the other for the insane reason to destroy the galaxy... and monstruosity. But the tools they use to fight this war are pretty much the same... same concepts on how to kill the other and what to do to instill fear!

If it ever came to it: Chief would win vs an average Marine, why? this seems illogical yes, but remember, the Chief has plot armor(the thickest of armor, not even the hand of God can touch) in the univserse, now, take that plot armor off, and an average Imperial Space Marine, even a Scout can kill the Chief.

A guardsman would take him down after that. I doubt Chief could take a melta, krak, or lascannon shot with the armor. A rapid firing bolter would likely shred him seeing as they're basically small frag nades and when you're popping out so many a second... bye bye.

I kinda doubt he would be able to withstand being tack;ed by a marine though, 6' 10'' chief vs 8' 6'' marine plus all the extra organs and such marines get, plus the acid/fangs

I even keep saying, if it was a "fair fight" like Chief loses his plot armor, he's get his ass beat by the Marine/Scout.
