  • Read some more comments and someone said the disney info was incorrect. My apologies. I still don't think they will produce a piece true to Lone Ranger values.

  • I hope disney knows Clayton Moore didn't need the mask. He was and is The Lone Ranger! '' No mask needed ''

I my self will never watch a disney lone ranger wanabe movie. Let all true Lone Ranger / Clayton Moore fans pledge NOT TO starting here.

  • We can still hear the echo of his cry "Hi Ho Silver Away"! We need a Hero like the Lone Ranger and Clayton Moore today who stands for doing the right thing nomatter the what.

  • how does an actor, artist etc. get his name on the walk of fame?

  • That was just plain ROTTEN of the Disney studios preventing Clayton Moore from appearing in public with his trademark mask.

  • an adoption agency would not let Clayton Moore adopt a boy because they said no boy could live up to the expectations of the Lone Ranger. I mark that time as the begining of the end for this country.

  • Why couldn't he wear his old uniform ?

  • Hi Yo Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels....forever champions for morality and truth. Surely missed, but never forgotten.

    Thanks Kemosabe

  • I am so glad that he got this while he was still alive - a true American icon, he more than earned his star. He went out of his way to live up to the image that he represented; I'm so pleased they put that on his star along with his name.

  • There were other Lone Ranger actors but Clayton will forever be the one who I grew up with and admired - I watched him on the "radio" than on TV with his faithful Indian companion Tonto (Jay Silverheels) and of course his trusty horse Siver. Those were better times, kinder in so many ways. So "gettem up Scott" & a hardy "Hi YO Silver"....away....

  • No one has had more influence on me than Clayton Moore, the only, Lone Ranger. After the Kilnton Spilsbury fiasco, Clayton sued to get his mask back. I'm told that things were about 50/50 when Claytons attorney pointed out that he is the only star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with his characters name. the judge said that if the city of Los Angeles had declared Clayton Moore The Lone Ranger, far be it from him to change that. Clayton Moore was and always will be the Lone Ranger. R.I.P.

  • How wonderful to see this, and to see all the great comments from others. Have you noticed, though: we're more than fans--we're like "Jr. Rangers", followers who remember him as our hero, our leader, and who still feel his influence on how we think, and how we act in our day-to-day lives. What a positive impact he has had on so many people! What a great legacy! What a great example to follow! He was a true American hero, and we need him today more than ever! Thanks for posting!

  • awesome video i went there this summer

  • First time I have seen this and it's absolutely fantastic to see Clayton Moore getting the recognition he truly deserves. How could anyone deny him the right to call himself the Lone Ranger--there is no other and there will be no other. He was idolised the world over and especially here in Britain.Even my mate Dave Lucas got a "Lone Ranger" suit for his birthday.Fabulous, fabulous!!

  • Clayton "The Lone Ranger" Moore was & always will be 4EVER, along with a Mexican "Lucha Libre" professional wrestler named "EL SOLITARIO" [which means The Long Ranger in Spanish] who portrayed the character (in the mid 60's, 70's & mid 80's) in the "World of Professional Wrestling", the "BEST of the BEST" ! ! ! =0)

  • Most Excellent!

  • One and done they broke thw mold with Clayton and as the times have changed he never did nor will the lasting memories of a kid growing up on the lower east side of a land and time so far away brought to life every sat afternoonl.

    God bless you Clayton Moore.

  • Wow. :) This man is the reason why I am flat out broke at the moment! I'm actually sad enough to have invested 'for the future' in Lone Ranger DVDs, but the buck stops in the 50s for me. Disney may have ripped Clay of his mask, but they will NEVER remake a Lone Ranger as great as this man!

  • Wow. Moore is and always will be a class act. You don't see much of that anymore.

  • I was hoping someone would correct misinformation posted. Disney only in '09 got the rights to do a LR movie. The Jack Wrather Corporation, at the time of the Hollywood Star, did not allow Clayton Moore to wear a mask during their movie with Klinton Spillsbury. I saw Clayton Moore at an opening for a store years ago. After the movie did poor box office, Clayton said wearing the mask was restored "like a man throwing his dog a bone". He had more dignity than that to accept it as an after thought.

  • He was my hero when I was a kid. I met him back in 1986, and I'll never forget all of the grown men lined up to meet him. We were all little kids that day. My wife took my picture with him and it's proudly displayed on the wall to this day. I was in my car when I heard the news of his passing, and I pulled over and cried like a baby. By the way, I still start my day with Cheerios.

  • It was wonderful to see Clayton Moore finally honored for his terrific portrayal of The Lone Ranger with his own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Moore took his role seriously and unlike George Reeves who disliked playing Superman, Moore was always proud of his character and what it represented. I watched The Lone Ranger as a young boy and will never forget him. Thanks for the posting.

  • Clayton moore was the best.

  • Clayton Moore was the epitome of class. He was one of those rare people who play heroes and actually behave like one in real life. He was a postive and wonderful role model and I have yet to hear one word said against him as a man. I wish that I had gotten to meet him.

  • Clayton Moore won't be forgotten as he will always be the Lone Ranger to thousands of us who watched the show. Doesn't matter if he has to wear sunglasses because the "owners" of his mask won't permit him to wear it. because of their copyright laws

  • CLAYTON MOORE,my childhood hero and namesake.I feel priviledged to be of the same high school alumnus.SENN HIGH SCHOOL,in Chicago 5900 N. Glenwood. And JAY SILVERHEELS.

  • Clint....I've talked with other chat rooms about your claim that The Lone Ranger shot somebody in the 1956 Lone Ranger movie....Their response was that the Lone Ranger shoots a stick of dynamite out of the hand of an outlaw and shortly afterwards the dynamite explodes....but they all agree, and so does Clayton Moore, that the Lone Ranger never directly shoots anybody. I need to rent this movie before I can make my own determination.

  • amasing... I will miss him.

  • Clay said he never shot anyone as The Lone Ranger... Not true! In the movie LONE RANGER

he does shoot a man right in the chest and fights a Indian almost to the death. It is my fav. Lone Ranger movie. Why does he have to wear sunglasses still? That was 1987 and that 1981 CRAPFEST of a movie was long gone???

  • Clayton Moore never shot anyone when he played "The Lone Ranger". He's wearing the sunglasses because there was a law suite at the time which forbid him from wearing the mask. He eventually won the law suite and in his later years wore the mask at appearances as "The Lone Ranger".

  • Thanks for clearing up the Sunglasses Did not know that. As far as Clayton shooting anyone as the Lone Ranger on screen I hate to disappoint anyone BUT YES HE DID!! The movie LONE RANGER 1956 he shoots and kills??? a bad guy on a hill.

You can look it up by typing LONE RANGER MOVIE 1956 IDMB to see I am not wrong it is however the one and only time he did..But you will see he did.

Thanks for your info and take care

    Lone Ranger always

  • I remember all that shit they gave him about wearing the mask...How sad...

  • Clayton creeped out on that harmonica guy

  • A fine actor and a truly great man. He knew exactly his obligations to his fanbase and the combination of quiet dignity so lacking in the young these days. RIP Clayton - no one has earned the right to do so more than you.

  • I agree, I'm 20 years old and the Lone Ranger has been a great inspiration on my life, hey better watching that than Sex and the City right? Clayton is the only one who truly earned the right to wear that mask and no one could do a better Tonto than Jay Silverheels, I'm going to make sure that my children watch those growing up like I did.

Hi Ho Silver and forever Lone Ranger and Tonto!

  • so real sad people there

  • The one the only, Clayton Moore is the Lone Ranger.

  • I met the lone ranger as a child in the 60's at Kennywood park in Pittsburgh,Pa. He gave out a silver bullet and a black mask to all the kids. I lost both of them thru the years of playing back then. One night I saw that same bullet on Ebay. It now rest on my dresser. I never saw the movie that was made. Out of respect to the man and the injustice at the time that was done. They don't make them like this anymore.I kinda feel sorry for the following generations. They have no heroes to admire.

  • Amen brother.

  • I quite agree, we need a new old hero!

  • HE IS MY LIFETIME HERO!

Handsome Man on a Beautiful Horse.

A teacher of morals and fine living.

    I still Love Clayton Moore.

  • Walt would turn over in his grave over them not letting him wear the mask that he made so famous. Stupid Corporate Greed!

But he was a true hero right to the end.

    Hi Ho Silver! AWAY!

  • Hence the reason for the sunglasses, it's not the same but close enough for him. I'd lent him my mask anyday, if he wasn't already dead.

    Hi Ho Silver

  • It was a privilage to meet and talk with Clayton in the 70's. He was a true gentleman. We may never see a great role model for our kids such as him again.

  • Clayton was a good friend, a great man and a treasure for us. My dad has passed so I have both of our silver bullets to remember Clayton by. Thanks Clay, it was an honor to know you.

    Greg

  • Clayron Moore was a GREAT man. I interviewed him at his home. Years later, he was present in Oklahoma City when I won a Wrangler Award from the Cowboy Hall of Fame for writing. He had won a Wrangler years before. I could receive no greater honor than to be linked to him.

  • God bless the late Clayton Moore and the ideals he presented as the Lone Ranger.

  • I must say, that Clayton Moore will always be the Lone Ranger. I remeber that when I was a small kid I went to a Detroit Tigers game, and there was a gentleman there who was dressed up as a cowboy for entertainment during one of the breaks. After the game he came up to me and presented me with a "silver" bullet. He said it was from the Lone Ranger. I still have the bullett.

  • There will never be another lone ranger.

Clayton moore was & still is the Lone Ranger here on earth & in heaven.

  • You can still get to Lone Ranger Rock, where the daring and resourceful masked rider of the plains would rear up on the thundering hoofs of the great horse SILLVERR!!!

  • I remember the show in sydication as a child. When Clayton Moore says to honor thy mother and father I had a tear in my eye. Awesome, man!

  • well done clayton

  • Cool

  • No matter what Disney and/or the courts say, Clayton Moore will always be the real Lone Ranger to his fans.

  • He really loved being that character, unlike George Reeves which despised being Superman. Then again, Reeves was a damn good actor in my honest opinion, and I guess that TV show was way to beneath him.

Although Moore was very good as the LR, don't think he's up there with Reeves

  • i have always loved the Lone Ranger ever since i was in 7th grade. i had a friend who was a major fan of the lone ranger. he'd always try to dress up as the Lone Ranger for parades. i have several movies of the Lone Ranger. 10 stars, and thanks for uploading this clip. -priestessmana

  • wow,now theres a true hero, world needs more like him

  • My Hero!

I love him and I'm a big kid. This man shaped a generation by his ability to show being a "do-gooder" is an honorable way to be. Wish we still had people like him today.

  • I wrote to the Lone Ranger years ago and he was kind enough to actually write back and talk about visiting Loon Lake, here in Ontario Canada .

  • His is the only Walk of Fame star to list the actor and the role. Clayton IS the Lone Ranger.

  • Clayton Moore AND the Lone Ranger will ALWAYS be my heros! What a great man! I'm glad I had the good fortune to meet him!

  • that was fun to watch.

  • When our son was about five, Clayton Moore was making an appearance at a local mall. I knew it wouldn't be quite the same for him as it would be for me, but we took him anyway. I'd watched him on television as a child and later introduced his films as a television host on a local station in Illinois. He was old Hollywood all the way...good showman!

  • He deserved it for sure! if more kids were able to wathc shows like the Lone Ranger, there wouldn't be as much violence in the world.

  • An early TV hero and a real classy guy in real life.
