  • Very useful video. John, you appear to be enjoying yourself here. As for all the carping comments about the gray, I sense some piling on. The gray is effective and looks sharp.

  • I like your videos simple professional and to the point

  • Well done. There is power in positive and negative space.

  • wow...i h8 most "designer" vids...dude knows his stuff and teaches in a clear and succinct manner...kudos.

  • wonderful, I am not sure about the use of gray but the whole thing is a wealth of knowledge, Jhon knows his stuff, hats off....

  • wonderful, I do think the gray is too dark but here we are not too much concerned with the color the point is very well made, incredible...

  • Grey is a no-no. For one, it makes it almost impossible to read. Not to mention, that grey background wastes toner and is looked down upon in the corporate world. I think the added shape and title is enough to draw attention and make it readable that no third color is needed. I also am not sold on the title font, but the way you used the shape of the text and bullets was brilliant.

  • This guy is the "Bob Ross" of Design dude! Awesome! Some happy little white space!

  • John, just out of curiosity, how do you say 'cool whip'?

  • Beautiful! Not sold on that tone of grey, but I am sold on everything else. Well-designed, well-explained. Wonderful!

  • @garrettgibbons --- not sold on that tone of gray myself --- it's too dark, but close enough to make the point.

  • BRILLIANT bite-sized design lesson.

  • Aso! The Design Guru speaks again. Nice. Very nice indeed. Great for "White Papers".

  • The ever-challenging type-only design again solved by simplicity, but with a sofisticated, beautiful touch-and result. Like, add just a little more to "less is more" and you're done. Great!

  • I Love it! I just finished absorbing your book "How To Design Cool Stuff" and I can tell that I will be referring to it forever, re-absorbing with every project that I do, and I am pretty sure I'll be buying the rest of your books too. Thank you so much for the videos!
