Very useful video. John, you appear to be enjoying yourself here. As for all the carping comments about the gray, I sense some piling on. The gray is effective and looks sharp.
Grey is a no-no. For one, it makes it almost impossible to read. Not to mention, that grey background wastes toner and is looked down upon in the corporate world. I think the added shape and title is enough to draw attention and make it readable that no third color is needed. I also am not sold on the title font, but the way you used the shape of the text and bullets was brilliant.
The ever-challenging type-only design again solved by simplicity, but with a sofisticated, beautiful touch-and result. Like, add just a little more to "less is more" and you're done. Great!
I Love it! I just finished absorbing your book "How To Design Cool Stuff" and I can tell that I will be referring to it forever, re-absorbing with every project that I do, and I am pretty sure I'll be buying the rest of your books too. Thank you so much for the videos!
and im not just talking about his obvious design skills. im talking about his communication skills. so clear, so easy to understand, and so welcoming. the mark of a true genius.

@garrettgibbons --- not sold on that tone of gray myself --- it's too dark, but close enough to make the point.
