  • i would of put some kind of adheesave on it so the tred didnt slip

  • I did something similar to my daughters power wheels jeep. I used a wide rubber drive belt that is used on a piece of oilfield equipment. I cut it to length and then used screwed it on. It has been on there for over a year and has works great. She can actually go off road with it and climb small hills and stuff. I don't know why the company doesn't do something like this anyway. They are practically useless with the factory tires. When in high gear it actually pulls a wheelie too.

  • Please tell the kid to shut up!

  • got my kids (4yrs and the other 10 months) a power wheels dune racer, should arrive in a few more days, definitely gonna try out this bike tire trick!

keep up the great vids bro

  • WATCH ME EXPLODE!

  • Thanks for the video and that is a great idea and those metal bands are tough to cut.

  • Thanks great idea, I wanted to do try this on a mustang

  • omg! i had that same quad when i was like 2 or 3 =) ahh good times good times

  • you can use a water based lubricant to get the bmx tire to slide over the power wheel tire (be aware that if you get it on your hands you will wind up not being able to get a good grip in the bmx tire) also if you do use screws to hold it in place you might want to use either a large headed screw or a washer and some RTV (to prevent pull through, cracking, and water into the inside of the tire)

  • that's brilliant man ! power wheels manufactures are missing out on a potential accessory market for wheels, very good idea !

  • Use those on the front and paddles on the rear

  • this worked awesome, then I realized 1 problem. Our quad has that power brake deal such that when my son lets off the gas it gives a bit of reverse power to the motors and locks up the wheels to stop it. The tires are gonna wear out fast this way... sigh onto the next mod. Thx for the video though, it made all the difference, he climbs dirt/grass hills with ease now.

  • You can always remove the brake feature. Usually there is a resistor (a small block of ceramic) that goes from the gas pedal when "off" back to the motors. Just disconnect it.

  • haha I hear that jingle bells batman smells or whatever that is. thats funny. sounds like they r doing karoke.

  • haha good idea...im going to use it for more traction for my downhill power wheels runs

  • thanx alot man, that realy helped me get better traction

  • awesome.

  • You the man! Thanks for taking the time to share this. But did I understand you to say that it ruins gear boxes?

  • Yes it does. The traction will break teeth on the gears sooner or later. This machine died about 1 month later.

  • Are there replacement gears to be had out there?

  • awesome idea and great vid but whats with the drunken singing in the background?

  • ha ha! It is the kids next door.

  • nice gloves!!!!

  • It became a trend.

  • i just put electrical tape on my nephews

    lol

i take the gears out of his old ones and ride em down hills and smash em up

    lol

  • hello this well your video a question I have a power wheels mustang that far rim bicleta get him to make such a modification that makes my wing Czech motorcycle videos to see that power wheels I thank you for your help

  • I would love to, but traction bands kill gearboxes and that is just what happened here.

  • PRETTY SMART DADDY!! thanks I'll have to show this to my Hubby we are in the middle of ordering replacement wheels!!

  • Glad you liked it. Be sure to check out modifiedpowerwheels DOT com as well.

Be careful because this does shorten the life of your gears.

  • "TNT... im dyno0mite!!"HAHAHA

i so want to mod one of those like when i was little

  • some of the newer models have rubber tracks on the wheels

  • My daughters first powerwheels had "rubber bands" as well. They were a very hard rubber and it spun on the wheel - still allowing for slip to save the gears.

  • Haha, i was listing to him the whole time.

  • I'm more curious.. did they have not black BMX Tires?? I mean White really throws off the look of the car...

  • its a power wheel dude....

  • Yeah I'm a fabricator and customizer, I think if I can have a clean looking car why can't my son? especially when it costs about 30X less to work on a toy.

  • lmao

  • They were out of black.... I could say it was to make it clearer in the video, but honestly they were out of black at the walmart I went to..

be sure to check out modifiedpowerwheels . com

  • why has no one asked whats with the gloves ??

yea i use them when im working on engines and shit cuz im a mechanic , but WTF i dont see no grease or harmfull things that cuz get in ur skin ?

  • Nope you are the first to ask.

    Just to be clean.

  • i was also a bike mechanic lol

so i was replacing tires left right and center

and they are pretty clean , its just convusing and stuff cuz if u be clean and all safe , how is ur body gonna get ammuned to any harmfull things ur gonna come into contact with . i would think it would be less 'clean' to walk down a city street than to do that

  • I dont walk on my hands ;) and its immune not ammune- have you checked out modifiedpowerwheels (dot com) yet?

  • There is a reason why there is not much traction. Having a good grip on the road will only put more strain on the motor and the drive gears in the motor.

  • nice one. Good idea too.

  • i have been looking for a traction solution thank you so much lol

  • wheres the video after the tread was added?

  • nice!!
