I miss this music. They don't make music like this anymore. Talking about LOVE and being with the one you really dig. Now a days its all about straight f*cking. No romance, no intimacy, no nothing. Sugafoot & Satch did their thing on this! Real music!!

No computer digital synthesizer bullshit Just real instruments and real talent and soul coming from within making harmony,In my ears they can do no wrong..

ahh.. the 70's! this is so beautiful. this is when we used to call this rapping, ya'll remember when brothers used to smooth talk you out of your clothes!
This song is one of my favorite sweet soul love songs as well. It is so mellow and relaxing. I can imagine just laying back sipping on some lemonade and getting into this mode. With the right person that is and that's a hard find. Or else just sit there and fantacize about how it could be or how you want it to be ya know? This is classic for sure!

I was a teenager when this album came out and we had house parties in the basement with only a black light and some serious slow dancing. WOW what great memories and music. I had the pleasure of singing with Billy Beck.
I still love this jam. It brings back so many good memories. And baby you can still sing this to me. MMMMM. Best ever. And to this day, I still love you.
It just bother's me when Black People blames the white person for their issues like getting a job or being in prison, or having financial difficulties while BLACK PEOPLE KILLING OR FIGHTING OTHER BLACK PEOPLE. When I play this song, it takes me to heaven. One of the greatest love songs made. It always takes me back to my main man and how he use to sing this to me while we made love under the stars. MMMM , wish I could go back to those days in the early 70's. Peace to all.
I just saw these cats on UNSUNG. They're mostly known for Fire & Rollercoaster but they are sooooooooooooooooo much more. Just true brillance in music. I had no idea.
The70's..... such a beautiful time for black culture & music.....Women were respected, social commentary, the message was love, Good Times, What's Happening, The Jeffersons, Flip Wilson, Sanford and Son, Naturals were cut tight, Soul Train Saturday Mornings, J5, Muhammad Ali, SOUL Brotha, Right on!!!....Shaft, Foxy Brown, Super Fly, Ice Cream truck in the hood, Afro pick with the Black Power salute on the end....BLACK WAS BEAUTIFUL!!....Lets get it back!! One Luv!!
Wow! I love the Ohio players! I saw the documentary on unsung and it amazes how good music can be missed! I am only 34 yrs old but I am old school . I always said when I get into the music business I plan to remake this song ...........
These artist today don't even KNOW how to make music like this anymore. It's all about booty shaking and disrespect. Listen to Sugarfoot! You don't need to be raunchy to say that you enjoy your girl's company. And he's not a p*ssy for saying that he enjoys his woman's company. These singers today need to leave that thug, I just want to screw you mentality alone and learn from the masters before them. You can catch more honey being sweet than with vinegar.
@sdwalm I agree with you! It amazes me at this music today , Like Steve Harvey say back then you could play a recored all the way thorough now you gotall these hot messes as musicians (shaking my head)
always liked the Players alot...until seeing Unsung on 7/4/11 I had truely forgotten how many hit songs they had when i was growing up....I see how awsome they really where...brings back such good memories, and the music was original and kept the parrty going....slow jams one minute and dance jams the next...who could ask 4 more....not me
SUGARFOOT was the shit!!!! listen to these words. I am 42 years old and I am stuck in the world of old school, I am TRAPPED!! and don't want to get out. HEAVEN MUST BE LIKE THIS!!!!!!!
@ladycat29: Yes indeed my sista....i too remember those family get togethers. We had so much fun back then and enjoyed each other's company. You're right when you said we didn't have internet or video games....we had each other to entertain ourselves.....i think that is how we bonded better back then. In those days a friend really was a friend and love came with no strings attached. I thank GOD that i was born when i was and around to have these memories to draw back on when i am stressed out.
SUGARFOOT was the shit, listen to these words. They don't make'em like this no more. I am 42 years old, and I am stuck in the world of old school, I am TRAPPED and I love it , HEAVEN MUST LIKE THIS!!!!!!!
Growing up my father listened to jazz and did not care for R&B and Funk music. My father only loved jazz. But then one day he heard the Ohio Players "Heaven Must Be Like This."
My father told me he like the Ohio Players. Wow....a pure jazz man into the Ohio Players. I knew the Ohio Players had that special thing. The Ohio Players could not only play pure Funk they could also play some smooth R&B with a Jazzy feel.
Now whenever I hear this song I think of my dad. R.I.P. dad.
I don't understand Why Billy Beck was'nt acknowledged for his piano work on this song . You could learn alot as a musician just by listening to this piece . Billy at the time was so young and playing so masterfully . He should have had an article in Keyboard magazine alone on this song . I hope the players get inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame .Gary Peace !!!!
"DAMN" HEAVEN MUST BE LIKE THIS! "LOVE" THIS SONG FROM THE 70'S WHEN "MUSIC" TOUCHED YOUR "SOUL"! JUST "LISTEN" TO THE WORDS! "LOVE" WAS IN THE AIR ,IN THE LATE 60'S AND EARLY 70'S! THANK YOU "OHIO PLAYERS" FOR BRINGING THIS "LOVING MUSIC" TO MY EARS!
This Song Was Dedicated to Me From My Sweetheart..Terrell..Thank You My Baby..Beautiful Music..Beautiful Moment..We Also grew up on these Sounds from the 70's..Fyi For anyone Interested. The Ohio Players With Sugerfoot will Perform at the California State fair at Sacramento..july 21st..Free with fair admision,,Im Looking Forward to being There..
In 1974 i was living in Long Beach California going to Millikan sr high school.my partners and i use to catch the easy ave bus listen to this cut on those bright sunny days. That was Neaven those good old days.......YES YES!!
im 13 and im in love with this song. music aint the same anymore. I wish I could go back in time and live i think i would fit in perfectly(: heaaaavvveenn musst be like thisss musstt bbee likkee this <3 i love it
@BiggHvy THANK YOU!! THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN TELLING SORRY ASS STUCK UP BLACK PEOPLE THESEDAYS. SADLY, THEY'RE STUCK WITH LIL WAYNE, 50 CENT, JAILBIRD ASS T.I., ABUSIVE PUNK CHRIS BROWN AND OTHER BULLSHIT NOWADAYS WHICH MESSED UP BLACK PEOPLE'S MIND. THAT"S WHY I BARELY TRUST THEM THESEDAYS AND UNFORTUNATELY I'M BLACK MYSELF.
Great song to ride to at night., back in the 70's the Ohio Players would come out with a new album every summer with hit after hit and would take you throught the entire summer. I can still fell the night breeze, going to the concerts. including the Ohio Players, bbq;s in the park, black ppl looking out for one another, just alround having fun, I miss those days.Damm!!!
@handsome90301 Yeah I went to college at SIU- Edwardsville and we had what we called the Mississippi River Festival held on campus outdoors and you could listen to a concert under the stars. The 70's was such a fun time and the music was the best.
II had the albums and 8tracks... Pain, Pleasure, Ecstasy, Fire, Honey.....the rest is blur but the 70's.... hey we had (have) the sho nuf nuf stuff....
Thanks for posting one of my favorite OPlayers songs. They were so damn cool. I saw them in concert in the 70's at my college. I never forgot how much they sound like the record.
@BLKSMOKE12: You hit the nail right on top of the head....lol ! Just like you my brother i never gave it a second thought when i was growing up, that one day this music would mean so much later in my life. What a good time we had back in the 70s and the entire vibe was different and ppl cared about each more and less ppl had chips on their shoulders. I can honestly say that i have no real bad memories of that era. You made my day with your comment my brother. You made me think back. Thank you !
growing up in the 70s around all this beautiful music is such an wonderful thing i love all the groups from back then and this song here just relax me so much lol.
Tell me the truth.....did any of you who grew up in the 70s ever think this era of music would one day mean this much to you? It just blows my mind how much it means to me. When i was a little boy around 12 years old in Newark,NJ i never gave it a second thought and now i can't make it thru a day without this music. If GOD gave me a choice of what era i wanted to go back to,it would most def be the 70s, bell bottoms, big afros and everything else that came with it. All i know is i was happy.
@BLKSMOKE12 , I gotta say it was a huge impact on me and what i listen to now, my son is the same age that i was when EWFs Gratitude album came out, and he loves riding in the car listening to it, he really likes the Isley Brothers too. makes me smile, i will keep this stuff alive in my house.
@BLKSMOKE12 Brother I am with you. I had this album when I was in the Marine Corps. In fact I had all of their music on 8 tracks and vinyl. For sure the music of the 70's is my medicine...Smooth jazz is the back up!!!
@BLKSMOKE12 I grew up in that era....so many good memories and all I knew was this type music. My whole family would get together in the evenings and have our own talent shows and/or we would teach each other the lyrics and make up our own dance steps....we didn't have video games....limited telephone time and a whole lotta love.
@BLKSMOKE12 OMG! I grew during this era too and I cherish this music. I'm almost 50 now and use youtube as my old school jukebox. I remember Gil Scott Heron, Mandrill, Donald Byrd & the Blackbirds, and the list goes on. Those were the days!!!
@BLKSMOKE12 so true man.....70's is the era I wanna go back to...can't get through the day without this music and in fact I don't! I run a martial arts gym here in Ajax, Ontario, Canada and the soundtrack at the gym is firmly wrapped up in 70's classics!!!!
@BLKSMOKE12 , Exactly!! Even though I was little, actually 2 yrs old when this song came out but to be that young, I do have some memories of the 70s because I was exposed to the music, tv shows and I definately remember the styles !!Those were some fun times compared to now and even people were fun but now, almost everyone act like robots meaning no personality, and acting like they have sticks up their butts!! We are living in a rat race time where things are so fast paced now.
This group is just fantastic..I can't believe how industry moguls and fat cats can take the talent and hard work of such brilliant artist and just think they deserve to have more of the money than the person with the talent!!! WTF!!!!! The UNSUNG special on this group just downrightmade me want to cuss!!!! I think there is a very hot place in hell...hopefully hotter than all the rest than these evil doer will get their come-uppins!! Ohio y'all were badass!!! We miss your talent!!!

One of my all-time favorite songs from the 70's. Sugarfoot and Satch put it down on this one!! The piano on this song is sick!
The best lyrics in the song:
A place where I can find happiness,
A place close to your loveliness.
The sweet and sour taste of love we just made,
A cool place in the shade.

When I play this song, it takes me to heaven. One of the greatest love songs made. It always takes me back to my main man and how he use to sing this to me while we made love under the stars. MMMM , wish I could go back to those days in the early 70's. Peace to all.

One Luv!!

@handsome90301 Yeah I went to college at SIU- Edwardsville and we had what we called the Mississippi River Festival held on campus outdoors and you could listen to a concert under the stars. The 70's was such a fun time and the music was the best.

Thank you !

My whole family would get together in the evenings and have our own talent shows and/or we would teach each other the lyrics and make up our own dance steps....we didn't have video games....limited telephone time and a whole lotta love.
ladycat629 8 months ago
@BLKSMOKE12 I second that emotion. The 70s was the bomb. Music and nothing else has been the same.
ASU19992006 8 months ago
@BLKSMOKE12 OMG! I grew during this era too and I cherish this music. I'm almost 50 now and use youtube as my old school jukebox. I remember Gil Scott Heron, Mandrill, Donald Byrd & the Blackbirds, and the list goes on. Those were the days!!!
gmtfootcd 7 months ago
@BLKSMOKE12 so true man.....70's is the era I wanna go back to...can't get through the day without this music and in fact I don't! I run a martial arts gym here in Ajax, Ontario, Canada and the soundtrack at the gym is firmly wrapped up in 70's classics!!!!
irondragonajax 7 months ago
@BLKSMOKE12 , Exactly!! Even though I was little, actually 2 yrs old when this song came out but to be that young, I do have some memories of the 70s because I was exposed to the music, tv shows and I definately remember the styles !!Those were some fun times compared to now and even people were fun but now, almost everyone act like robots meaning no personality, and acting like they have sticks up their butts!! We are living in a rat race time where things are so fast paced now.
