Thank you for this song by Tammy. She can make one cry with this song....she was truly the very best that ever lived. She had it all! RIP Tammy we love you for ever.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. The lyrics cut to the bone, and the (basic) country melody hooks you in. To top it off, Emmylou's voice is brilliantly used as the key hook to whole thing!
What a class act Tammy was. She was quite a country lady and is sorely missed in the country music business. I sure do miss seeing and hearing from her. She reminds me of my mother and they're both up there in heaven together, probably hitting it off.
Just to let everyone know...April 6, 1998 we lost a TRUE legend Mrs. Tammy Wynette...She is my hero forever and always (And I'm only 13 years old) I love Tammy. She is a TRUE singer. I love this kind of music. Writing about her life and why we lost her? We'll never know. That's gonna be my first question when I get up there to Heaven. Tammy is a in a WAY better place now! May she Rest in Peace forever
It's too bad they couldn't have worked Emmy into the video, but then it was fun watching Tammy play with the little girl who I presume is her granddaughter.
I like to think that Tammy's beneath her painted sky
