Can anyone help? I've made this awesome thing and it makes use of the surround sound and when I play it in vegas it sounds perfect but when I render it as mp3 or wav you can't hear a lot of the background noises and sometimes the sounds are too quiet. I've tried switching it to stereo, mono, joint-stereo, dual channel on mp3 but with no luck. Any formats that will render it exactly as in vegas?!

lfe only means low Frequency Effects. so it is pretty much bass frequencies.

Hi there,

maybe I´m late but me too I had the problem that my keyframes did nothing. Look for something like "automation controls" and activate "Show automation controls". The point in the panorama should now be jagged and it moves exactly as planned.

I have an odd question fellow youtubers. For surround sound, when a character is speaking should I put that to the "Front" or "Center" for the 5.1?

Just a suggestion, but I'd say most of the time, yes - especially if the person is front-and-center on the screen. It also makes dialogue a lot easier to hear in the mix. Also, a really cool thing to do would be (and it happens in movies all the time) when a character is speaking, but is off-screen (like just out of frame) you could put it in the left or right channel, depending on where that character is, off-screen.

For everyone having problems with the keyframes, try putting "show automation controls." It worked for me ;)

I forgot to say that you need to have Track Automation set to: Automation Latch (Write)

The pan effects DO work. Once you put a keyframe point double click the actual point. It will being up the surround pan dialog, drag the 'diamond' to a new position and a broken line will follow it. Viola

LFE is Surround sound Subwoofer It is the 0.1 in 5.1 if that makes sense, normally registers the low low frequency that makes the room feels like it's shacking.

I've been trying to learn how to remove the background noise using Audacity, but it's not working for my surround sound videos. Any ideas? You can't. Another way I usually use is to just create 5 or 6 layers (one for each channel), pan them for each corresponding speaker, and for each one keep the parts of the audio that I want to be heard on that channel. Piss easy!

LFE is "Low Frequency Effects", which is for playing with a subwoofer of a 5.1 surround system. It is the bass channel, for deep sound like earthquakes, explosions, dinosaur/lion roars etc.

hey.. i have a problem with sony vegas 8, this is my problem > I opened a video in the timmer window... no problem but only the sound from my video.

Now however, when I go to the video preview screen just get a blackscreen

he says something about the LFE channel that is wrong (3:34) LFE IS A SUBWOOFER CHANNEL! you MUST duplicate the track, being on of them as is and the other on as LFE only which controls the sub volume only. jeezz.
